Politics 101 Class (Replay)

Patriots,

The Cleveland 9/12 Project and the Cleveland Tea Party Patriots are teaming up and hosting Politics 101 Workshops.

What: Politics 101 Workshop #2 (Replay)
When: February 14, 2010 3:00 PM
Where: Pinnacle Condos
Address: 701 West Lakeside Ave. 3rd floor lobby Cleveland, OH 44113

We are repeating this workshop #2 for members who have expressed interest in the meeting they missed, or for those who want to repeat the experience -- it's a lot of information. This is the second of several must attend workshops to provide some ABC's on how politics in Cleveland and environs, Cuyahoga County, and Ohio are organized.

The Cleveland 9.12 and The Cleveland Tea Party Patriots are scheduling these to give all of us as voters insights into the process of identifying and selecting candidates, or working on issues. These workshops will also detail the structure of the political partys and exposing how the party County Central/Executive Committee and State Central Committee operations are conducted.

It is in these committees where all the back room political deals get made. It is at these levels and on these committees that your involvement is needed most. If you are tired of voting from the lesser of two evils -- you will not want to miss this class.

It will also provide those brave members who are considering running for office -- from local City Council to US representative - valuable information on how to proceed.

Workshops like these are being held all over Ohio to give us the tools and information we need to make a difference. Bring with you your ward and precinct details. Look on your Cuyahoga County Board of Elections voter location card, which shows your ward and precinct.

If you can’t find your voter location card, go to the Board of Elections website at http://boe.cuyahogaco... to find out. If all else fails, call the Board of Elections at 216.443.3200. The deadline for applying for committee slots in Feb. 18, 2010.

If you are interested in attending please RSVP at the Cleveland 9.12 Project (click here) or email: clevelandteaparty@gmail.com with Politics 101 RSVP in the reference line. Due to size constraints seating is limited to the first 50 people.

Pelosi still pushing for Health Care Bill

San Fran Nan, the PVC-faced Princess of the Progressives and Squawker of the House, is still determined to push a broken Health Care Reform plan on the citizens of this country.

Politico is reporting that Pelosi is expected to schedule a vote next week on a scaled down version of a health care baill that will rescind a half-century-old exemption from antitrust laws for the health insurance companies....

The vote is part of her new two-track strategy to tackle things that won’t be included in a more sweeping bill — if Congress ever passes one — while giving her members something politically popular to vote on. The move also puts pressure on Republicans, the industry and wavering Democrats, who wish their leaders would abandon the push altogether.

The bill comes as party brass struggles to find a path forward in the broader health care reform effort and amounts to a concession to her caucus as more sweeping legislation twists in the wind. The House bill would resemble a section of the House health care bill that ends an exemption for health and medical malpractice insurers and grants the federal government more authority to regulate antitrust laws.

The Senate didn’t include an antitrust provision in its health care legislation because Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) couldn’t muster the 60 votes needed to include it.

Also, Nebraska Democratic Sen. Ben Nelson — himself a former state insurance commissioner — opposed the House measure, so the bill would face long odds in the Senate. More...

Tea Party Protests at the Ohio Republican Party HQ

Again failing to hear our phone calls, faxes, emails & protests, the lemon heads runnings the Ohio Republican Party move on in a closed door & teleconferenced endorsement meeting for Dave Yost as Auditor.

Here is the You Tube Video of the Tea Party protest at the ORP HQ we found at Bizzy Blog....

Here is part of a post Tom at Bizzy Blog did for Pajamas Media....

Just two weeks ago, the situation was at least tolerable. Though what I have been calling ORPINO (the Ohio Republican Party in Name Only) was backing a residency-challenged candidate for secretary of state (more on that in a bit), it at least had the sense not to get in the way of proven fiscal conservative John Kasich’s outsider-framed effort. On January 14, Kasich selected current state auditor and rising star Mary Taylor as his running mate. This move justifiably led ORPINO chair Kevin DeWine to declare Kasich-Taylor “as strong a gubernatorial ticket as you will see on any ballot in any state.”

Then Kevin DeWine proceeded to complete his ruination of most of the rest of the ticket in the name of money and nepotism.

Until he decided he wanted to be Ohio’s next attorney general, Kevin’s relative, former U.S. Senator Mike DeWine, was last seen being repudiated twice by Buckeye State voters in a 17-month span in 2005-2006. First, despite spending $1 million, his son Pat finished a distant fourth in a June 2005 GOP primary race to fill an open congressional seat.

That thrashing was accurately seen as a proxy repudiation of Mike over his participation in the Gang of 14 and other conservative-betraying votes. After yet another vote in November 2005 to stop drilling for oil in Alaska and a 2006 GOP primary where two completely underfunded challengers blockaded by ORPINO nonetheless took 28% of the vote, Mike DeWine lost his U.S. Senate reelection race against far-left Cleveland-area Congressman Sherrod Brown by a stunning 12 points.

Second-cousin Kevin and the ORPINO gang decided that this awful track record justified clearing the AG field for Mike, even though DeWine’s primary opponent Dave Yost had already racked up a 5-0 record in December and January GOP county endorsement meetings and had earned an intense level of tea party and other grassroots enthusiasm. More....

The only way we can stop this nonsense is by getting involved!

Tea Party Patriot Action Alert: The Ohio Republican Party is playing their games -- Again!

Action Alert

Patriots,

Once again, and at the expense of conservative voters in OH, the Ohio Republican Party (ORP) is up to their back room deals. Or maybe we should say -- blunders! After the political version of musical chairs in the State Auditor & State Attorney General primary elections the conservative grassroots groups across Ohio are fit to be tied and are taking a stand against this nonsense that is destroying our state.

Earlier this year the Tea Party Patriot groups and many other 9.12 Groups in OH asked the ORP to show some respect towards 9/11 and not hold an endorsement meeting for State offices on this day. The ORP, unable to answer as to why their endorsement meeting HAD to be held on 9/11 and could not be held on any other day, responded to our requests with attacks on the Tea Partys & 9.12 Groups....
This is NONSENSE! State GOP Chairman Kevin DeWine has every right to call a meeting of the State Republican Committee on 9/11...

And we, as the governing body of the state's Republican Party, have every right to endorse in a Primary Election, not for the benefit of voters who are not registered Republicans, but for the benefit of those registered Republicans that look to the Party leadership for guidance.

Get off of your high horse and recognize that all of the Tea Parties and Town Hall Meetings across the nation mean NOTHING without the viable alternative that the Republican Party...and the conservative principles for which this Party stands...represents for the American people. (Dave Johnson Columbiana Co. GOP Chairman & State Central Committee 30th Senate District)
Taking Johnson's response above and combining it with the response from State Central Committeewoman Colleen Wing ( 23rd Senate District) it is clear that although across the nation we have been heard -- the Ohio Republican Party is ignoring the voice of the people and in fact think it is their job to choose for us who will be the future leaders for OH and this country...
"It is important to me that we live our lives in respect of the lives that were lost and the actions that were taken on that day. Being with my fellow committee members, planning and preparing for an important election is my way of ensuring the future of our State and ultimately our Country. We are choosing our future leaders." (Emphasis Added)
The ORP State Central Committee is holding a teleconference call Monday February 1 to vote on endorsements for the State Auditor & State Attorney General primary. To conduct this proceeding over the phone, a suspension of the rules is neccessary. The reason this meeting is being held by teleconference is that the ORP does not want the Tea Party Patriots & 9.12 groups in OH holding a rally at their office while these proceedings would be taking place.

After they vote to suspend the rules, the farcical endorsements will be "given" out. Notice I did not say "earned."

After refusing to give out an endorsement to Mike DeWine or Dave Yost for State Attorney General at the
MUST have 9/11 meeting, now that Yost slinked out of the A.G. primary and has slithered into the State Auditor race -- Chairman Kevin DeWine and the State Central Committee want to endorse the two for their respective races. In exchange for helping Orp Chairman kevin DeWine & John Husted settle a personal vendetta and his getting out of the State AG primary and into the State Auditor race, Yost was promised the endorsement for the State Auditor primary.

The sheep serving on ORP State Central Committee should be ashamed of allowing themselves to be used as tools to help further the personal political agenda & grade school like vendetta's of the lemon-like leadership of Chairman Kevin DeWine and his sidekick John Husted.

We are asking that you contact ORP Chairman and the State Central Committee and request that rules not be suspended & NO endorsement be given out for these races. Let them know should they decide to AGAIN ignore our requests the GOP endorsement will serve as a scarlet letter for their chosen candidates.

Take Action:
