About that Chinese "spy" balloon

Speaking of not trusting the government, it turns out that the infamous Chinese spy balloon that the military took down was not spying, and China had alerted U.S. officials that severe weather had blown it off-course.  Moon of Alabama sets the record straight:

. . . One wonders how [New York Times reporter Sanger] can assert a lack of communication when the Chinese side insists with evidence that it in fact communicated a lot . As the Global Times writes:

The Chinese Foreign Ministry expressed strong dissatisfaction and protested against the US' use of force to shoot down a Chinese civilian unmanned airship, urging the US to properly handle the incident.

The Chinese side has verified the situation and communicated with the US side multiple times, saying the unintended entry of the airship into US airspace was due to force majeure and the incident was totally an accident, the ministry said.

The Chinese foreign ministry asserts similar:

China strongly disapproves of and protests against the US attack on a civilian unmanned airship by force. The Chinese side has, after verification, repeatedly informed the US side of the civilian nature of the airship and conveyed that its entry into the US due to force majeure was totally unexpected. The Chinese side has clearly asked the US side to properly handle the matter in a calm, professional and restrained manner.

So China in fact had communicated with the U.S. and discussed the issue.

Its claim that the balloon went unexpectedly off course is, by the way, completely correct. The U.S. had long tracked the balloon over Alaska and Canada and was equally surprised when it suddenly turned south:

Another U.S. official said intelligence agencies began tracking the balloon several days ago, not long after it had left China and began its controlled drift toward the Aleutian Islands of Alaska. The official said American trackers continued to monitor the balloon as it progressed through Canada toward the continental United States, and were surprised when it crossed over into American airspace.

The cause of the surprising turn last week was a polar vortex over Canada that also brought a cold snap to the north-east:

We know the feeling when winter digs its heels in, and we get endless days below seasonal. When this happens, the jet stream becomes highly amplified with blocking mechanisms to trap the cold.

We often look to Greenland for strong blocking, but that wasn’t the case. The lobe of the stratospheric polar vortex was free to swing readily across Eastern Canada but then made a swift exit. A ridge of high pressure filled in behind, causing temperatures to rise as fast as they fell. . . .

Never Trust The Government

This blog frequently links to columns by J D Rucker, proprietor of the America First Report family of websites;  I am impressed with the way in which he tries to think through issues.  Today, he has a warning for all of us, and here’s the intro and bullet-point summary:

8 Reasons to NEVER Trust Anything This Government Says

Up until very recently, I didn’t have trust issues with government. I thought there were good guys and bad guys but I thought the institution of government itself was only evil when we put evil people in place. I no longer feel this way. If we’ve learned anything over the last couple of years, it’s that the “good guys” are extraordinarily rare in government at all levels and in all countries, and even they are often too weak or corrupted to be able to do much good.

On today’s episode of The JD Rucker Show, which will air at 8am Pacific, I discussed eight reasons pulled from headlines that we should never trust anything this government tells us. In fact, we should go forward assuming that all government is fully corrupted. That’s unfortunate because I am not an anarchist. I believe in the need for limited government, so if we can’t trust them then we’re forced to head toward the purest forms of government of and by the people. That’s not how the Constitution was written as a whole, so we’re in a big pickle.

I discussed these eight topics that should convince viewers that government is not to be trusted:

  • Pretty much everything we’re being told about the Ukraine war is a lie. .
  • The Arizona election (and many others) produced results that are mathematically impossible.
  • The push for electric vehicles is actually a push to eliminate ALL private vehicle ownership by “normal” people.
  • The world economy is being herded toward collapse.
  • Most in government are attacking the Constitution instead of defending it.
  • Nobody in government, not even the “good guys,” are going after Pfizer following the Project Veritas bombshell.
  • Governments across the world are pushing for food shortages so they have total control over supply and therefore the people.
  • Child rapes are increasing and nobody in government is lifting a finger to stop them.

Adverse Reactions in Young Adults

Leslie Eastman at Legal Insurrection reports:

Heart Attacks, Strokes On the Rise Among Young Adults

The reasons for the rise? Big Media says
depression, mental health issues, obesity, and smoking

Early last year, there was an astounding report that several life insurance companies determined there was an overwhelming, unexplained increase (40%) in “all-cause deaths” among 18 to 49-year-olds.

From that 2022 report:

Three physician “whistle-blowers” have just released real data from the DoD, drawn from the clinical diagnosis codes. The increases found are from 2021, compared to the five year average from 2016 to 2020.

    • Myocardial infarction: 269% increase
    • Miscarriages: 300% increase
    • Bell’s palsy: 291% increase
    • Congenital malformations: 156% increase
    • Female infertility: 471% increase
    • Pulmonary embolisms: 467% increase
    • Neurologic abnormalities: 300% increase
    • Cancers: 300% increase

As of now, the CDC has not explained this data.

. . .

I am not inclined to automatically accept the recently published explanations for the obvious rise in cardiac incidents among our young people. I would like numbers to be crunched and case histories to be reviewed, and then information disseminated by true scientists who did not participate in pandemic hysteria and who also do not have tight, fiscal connections to Big Pharma. . . .

Could the explanation be climate change?  The COVID jab?  Read the full column here.

Not vaxxed? You are under surveillance

The headline is scary enough:

The Federal Government Is Tracking
Unvaccinated People Who Go To The Doctor
And To The Hospital Due to CDC-Designed
Surveillance Program

Patrick Howley at National File reports:

The U.S. federal government is tracking people who decided not to get the COVID-19 vaccine injection, according to bombshell federal government records and video exclusively obtained by NATIONAL FILE. According to the shocking video, unvaccinated people are quietly tracked when they go to the doctor’s office or to the hospital due to a quiet new program proposed and implemented by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Government meeting materials make clear that the new program is designed to “track people who are not immunized or only partially immunized.”

A bombshell piece of information was revealed at the September 14-15, 2021 virtual Zoom meeting of the federal government’s ICD-10 Coordination and Maintenance Committee (which includes representatives from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, known as CMS, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) National Center for Health Statistics). At the meeting, the Committee discussed new categories of “ICD-10” codes that the CDC’s National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) wanted to create to mark people as “Unvaccinated for COVID-19,” “Partially Vaccinated for COVID-19” and “Other under-immunization status.”

The ICD-10 coding system was created by the World Health Organization (WHO) and doctors are required to use it to categorize different kinds of patients. The ICD-10 codes are preserved in a patient’s electronic health record and used by insurance companies for billing purposes.  . . .

Mark Steyn has recovered!

One of our all-time favorite authors, columnists, and TV guest/host is back from the dead, as he put it.  Mark recently suffered two heart attacks, was hospitalized in France, but is now back on camera, (click here for a 2:15 video clip) with his sense of humor intact.  If I had to guess, since Mark travels all the time, he probably had to get the vax in order to keep his media and speaking dates during the early days of the "plandemic."  This blog has been following various reports of adverse reactions to the jab, so that guess will not come as a surprise to readers here.  Anyway, you can also check out his website at steynonline here.

Debt ceilings & runaway spending

Betsy McCaughey often updates her readers on healthcare matters.  Yesterday, at Townhall, she analyzed the consequences of Congress members who want to keep raising the debt ceiling.  Her premise:

"If America wants to spend like Europe, it must tax like Europe -- and that means large payroll and value-added taxes on the middle class," says [Manhattan Institute economist Brian] Riedl.

Ms. McCaughey concludes:

Over the last 25 years, Congress has hammered out eight laws to control spending. All eight were tied to debt ceiling hikes.

At stake in this current debt ceiling struggle is preserving what sets the United States apart from Europe.

In the United States, working people get to keep most of what they earn and decide how to spend it.

Don't let the Washington pols treat your paycheck as if it belongs to them.
