Ending Masks in Schools – for starters

I am posting this from today’s Insanity Wrap in the hopes that some readers with kids in public schools will be inspired to tear a page from the AZ parents:

Insanity Wrap isn’t going to sugar-coat this one: It’s the greatest thing in the history of all things since we don’t know when.

Hundreds of parents showed up to the Vail School Board meeting to demand the board make masks optional. The board didn’t want to hear it so they walked out of the meeting before it even began. So the parents, under Robert’s Rules of Order, voted in a new school board. Then, the new members voted to end the mask requirement in Vail Schools.

The full 94-minute video of the entire thing is on YouTube.

Watching these parents using Robert’s Rules to vote themselves as board members in place of the runaway cowards is maybe the most delightfully American thing we’ve ever had the pleasure of seeing.

We earnestly hope this makes your day — week, year — as much as it did ours.

Are Your Papers In Order?

Insanity Wrap, a/k/a Stephen Green, a/k/a Vodkapundit, sounds the alarm:

“Do you have your papers?” was what the Nazi or Communist Russian official would ask normal citizens as they attempted to travel from one region to another within their own country.

If your papers — your internal passport — weren’t in order, you could be prevented from traveling, detained, or worse.

Insanity Wrap probably wouldn’t shock you with a reminder that sometimes, even when your papers were in order, some kommissar might “find” something out of order if he didn’t like the look of you.

Imagine having all your travel, for business or just your own pleasure, being subject to the whim of the anointed.

Internal passports are anathema to liberty and commerce.

With that in mind:

The Biden administration is working on a vaccine passport program that would allow people to prove they have received a coronavirus vaccination, in order to enter venues which have been closed due to social distancing requirements, such as offices or movie theatres. The Washington Post and CNN reported.

Five officials, who spoke anonymously, told the Post that the White House is pushing efforts by federal agencies and private companies to develop the scheme.

One official suggested to CNN that vaccine passports could be required for people returning to work.

. . .

But even more so, we are pro-liberty.

The liberty to travel between states has long been recognized by the courts, and the liberty to travel within your own state has never, to Insanity Wrap’s recollection, been questioned.

Until now. Until the Democrats won slender congressional majorities and the White House in a questionable election — and then decided to push harder against liberty and basic sense than any previous administration had ever dared.

“Do you have your papers?” to engage in ordinary travel, commerce, or pleasure is something straight out of Soviet Russia or Nazi Germany.

Or Joe Biden’s America, if the Democrats get their way.

You Are Free to Conform

. . .

As authoritarian as an internal passport would be, Insanity Wrap is certain that what’s already being done to our rights by Big Tech is worse.

. . .

The Left was always against privatizing anything that Insanity Wrap can remember — until they figured out how to privatize authoritarian conformity.

It’s inarguable that liberty is denied when millions of Americans are forced to hop from one service or site to another, all while megarich tech companies play Whack-a-Mole with the options available to us.

Drawing the line at internal passports is too little and far too late.

We need a Great Reset, if Insanity Wrap may borrow a phrase, against liberty-crushing wokeness, period.

Insanity Wrap #112: Pork Apocalypse COVID Relief Package UPDATE: Trump veto?

More bad news via Vodkapundit (Stephen Green) at PJMedia's Insanity Wrap #112:  Pork Apocalypse COVID Relief Package

Insanity Wrap needs to know: What is 900 billion American dollars divided by 330 million Americans?

Answer: $2,727. But you’re still only getting $600, rube.

. . .

The COVID relief package is certainly a relief for Congresscritters who might have previously felt their spending had been constrained by some small sense of morality.

PJ Media’s own Victoria Taft and Bryan Preston have already done the admirable — if unpleasant — work of detailing just how much pork is stuffed into the COVID relief bill.

It’s approximately three-quarters pork to one-quarter relief.

If you have the stomach for it, the referenced PJ Media report at the link here provides a few of the specific provisions.

And Sundance has more here, including a link to the actual bill.

UPDATE:  Trump vetoes the bill.  Click here.

UPDATE #2:   Matt Vespa at Townhall reports that President Trump is threatening to not sign the bill and rejects the pork;  Mr. Vespa did not report the President Trump vetoed the bill.

Fraud-by-mail

Stephen Green, a/k/a Vodkapundit, posted his “Insanity Wrap#29” today at PJ Media.  Here’s part of his section on mail-in voting, or as he puts it “Fraud-by-mail”:

An election without trust is barely worth holding — if that.

Insanity Wrap finds none of these virtues in mail-in balloting.

Mail-in ballots get sent out according to a process invisible to the voters.

Yes, you received a ballot with your name and address on it, but did someone else at your old house or apartment receive one with your name on it, too? If so, what happened to it?

Who “helps” older or infirm people fill out their ballots in private?

Were extra ballots printed? If so, what happened to them?

What happens to your ballot after you drop it, as yet uncounted, into a USPS box?

Where does the counting take place, and by whom?

The postal workers union just endorsed Joe Biden — can it be trusted?

If you don’t know — if you can’t know — the answers to any of these questions, then how much do you trust the process?

Insanity Wrap believes the move to mail-in voting isn’t so much about stealing elections. Democrats have always proven willing (and oftentimes able) to come up with enough mystery ballots to win a close contest.

Instead, mail-in voting is about reducing the level of trust the public has for the result of any and every election.

When trust in free elections is reduced low enough, the people will be ready for something…

…else.

What that “else” is, Insanity Wrap would rather not know.

Full column is here.

Everyone Back to Work

Stephen Green, a/k/a Mr. Vodkapundit, has been posting a daily blog at PJ Media entitled "Insanity Wrap." For those of us who are feeling surrounded by insanity these days, it's a good way to have some fun while following the latest bit of crazy.  His installment today is the 13th, the full installment is here, and below is a segment from it:

The Pandemic Is Over, Everyone Back to Work

And:

Look, are we in a health crisis requiring business and school closures, social distancing, and all the rest, or are we not?

This is a simple question, and Insanity Wrap knows the answer: It depends.

If you’re a member of the new protected class of rioters, you are free to go about the vital business of destroying whatever is left of America’s economy and social fabric.

If you aren’t, then sit down and shut up and stay home and wear the damn mask, hater.
