Climate Alarmism vs Real Environmentalism

Edward Ring’s column at American Greatness on “Climate Alarmism” offers some facts that might just get through to your climate alarmist friends by making them think about something that motivates them:  guilt.

How Climate Alarmism Killed Real Environmentalism

The environmentalist movement is a political weapon. It unites the most powerful special interests in the world behind an agenda that will further centralize power and wealth, eliminate any hope of financial independence for the vast majority of people, and transition previously free and independent nations into managed, sham democracies that have lost their sovereign agency.

The overwhelming theme of environmentalism today, designed to obscure its true agenda, is the alleged “climate crisis.”

Americans may or may not eventually muster the impertinence to successfully challenge the political power grab masquerading as environmentalism today. But either way, its centerpiece, the “climate crisis,” is responsible for devastating harm both to what was once a legitimate environmentalist movement, as well as to the environment itself.

Policies ostensibly designed to manage the planet’s climate are taking attention and resources away from genuine environmental threats. At the same time, a growing percentage of people are recognizing the fraudulent essence of the “climate crisis” agenda and, as a result, are becoming indifferent to legitimate environmental concerns.

This is a tragedy.

. . .

Here are just a few of the environmental disasters in progress that nobody talks about either because they’re making too much money pushing the climate change scam, or because they’re thoroughly disgusted with the climate change scam and disregard all environmentalist concerns.

Mr Ring then expands on each of the following bullet point topics:

  • Loss of Insect Population
  • Aquatic Dead Zones
  • Overfishing
  • Energy Security in Developing Nations
  • The Biofuel Disaster
  • Massive Oceanic Garbage Patches
  • Population Crash

Mr Ring’s conclusion:

. . . By now, the fraudulent reality of “renewables” that aren’t renewable is well documented, even if that fact receives scant attention in the mainstream press. But this additional fact—that the climate alarmist focus on achieving “net zero” is discrediting environmentalism at large, and taking attention away from other serious environmental threats—is perhaps the saddest chapter in the story of a movement that has lost its way.

A Greek Tragedy & A Suggestion Box

Sundance is seeking suggestions from his readers;  in his own words, “Put your thoughts into the form of a vessel, willing to deliver in just about any way possible.  What do you want me to do?”  He provides thorough context and reasoning.

In the comments section below his posting, I found reader Steve Brown who probably reflects the thoughts and perspectives of many readers:

I live and work in my Homeland, England. I speak for the very many people with whom I have spoken here when I say that the USA is now viewed by most as being like a Greek Tragedy. Your Leader is naught but a tragic comedian, propped up by unseen hands. Your overseas ventures are characterised by abject failure, your economy is such that it is endangering the rest of the world, but still the croaking voices of those who supposedly represent you continue to profess your assumed global leadership.

Those same people now, since the very recent indictment of Donald Trump, state that Trump is very possibly the only person capable of stopping the decline of the USA but also of possibly reinstating that nation as the premier world leader and even as the bastion of legal rights.

We overseas can only hope and pray for you all in the United States.

If you have a suggestion for Sundance, by all means go to his posting here.

The Collapse of the Dollar?

Steve Kelley cartoon at Townhall

Mac Slavo is not optimistic.  Here’s the opening of his column at DiscernReport:

Know What to Expect:
The Death of the Dollar Is Coming

The death of the dollar is coming and it’s going to hit the American public like a ton of bricks. Once it is no longer the world’s reserve currency, all bets are off concerning the fiat currency, and we should brace ourselves for what comes next.

Obviously, the central banks will need this epic crash to usher in the CBDC (central bank digital currency) which will be a technological slave system of control. But before that, we could see things that could only come out of the movies.

The dollar has not been backed by gold in a long time and its value is eroding. Debt, currency devaluation, massive speculation, massive currency creation, and intentional government incompetence are pretty much guaranteeing a very bad ending. A number of events have happened throughout the years which has jeopardized the Dollar’s standing. The Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa (BRICS) collaboration has gained steam in creating pathways for business and they have begun to totally bypass the U.S. Dollar.

And here’s his advice to everyone:

Here are the things we need to be prepared for according to All News Pipeline, once the ruling class finally puts the final nail in the dollar’s coffin:

  1. Bank Runs – people are going to want as much as they can out of their banks even though it’s going to be worthless unless you need some toilet paper. Some will attempt to rush and buy precious metals with their money while they still can.
  2. Capital Controls – the masters will ban the slaves from converting their dollars into foreign currencies to try to keep the dollar afloat for a few more days.
  3. Inflation – it’ll spiral out of control because the dollar will be worth almost nothing
  4. Massive Unemployment – businesses will find it impossible to get parts or supplies from other countries, so there won’t be jobs to do.
  5. Empty Grocery Store Shelves – food will be a hot commodity. The shelves will empty as people stock up at the last minute with whatever money they have.
  6. Public Riots – all of the above will lead to massive violent public riots. People will be depressed and angry, but most will be still too dumbed down to take it out on the ruling class and bankers who control them like marionette puppets. They will instead, destroy businesses and loot whatever they can.

Make whatever preparations you may need or do an audit of your preps. This is inevitable, even though no one knows the exact day that it’ll happen. . . .

Read the entire column here.  Think this is alarmist and far-fetched?  I would prefer to think that Mr Slavo is wrong.  But what if the price of eggs is just the canary in the coal mine?

Remembering Martin Luther King Jr

The Editorial Board at Issues and Insights observed that today marks

the 55th anniversary of the day the murderous James Earl Ray took the life of Martin Luther King Jr. The civil rights leader should be allowed to rest in peace, but he is being slain yet again, this time by a mob of mediocre minds with rock-bottom character that seeks to overturn his life’s works.

In what is widely acknowledged as his greatest speech, King dreamed that his “four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character,” that “one day right down in Alabama little black boys and black girls will be able to join hands with little white boys and white girls as sisters and brothers.”

. . .

He couldn’t have been clearer about his vision for a color-blind society. And in the 40 years that followed his death, our country moved in that direction, year by year, heart by heart.

But much has changed. The woke mob, critical race theory, and the DEI (diversity, equity, inclusion) movement have reopened a once-gaping, raw wound that had almost closed. Consider just a few of the many instances in which our “leaders” and institutional luminaries not only reject King’s teaching but actively try to return this country to an era of segregation and ugly, unapologetic bigotry. . . .

The editorial concludes:

Locally, teachers, administrators, and school boards are wrecking the MLK legacy. If they’re not telling white students that they are racist, should be ashamed of themselves, and indulging radical speakers who believe schools are “spirit murdering” black children, then they’re lowering standards to aid minorities, fully consistent with the soft bigotry of low expectations.

And then there are the DEI shysters such as Robin DiAngelo, a white woman who has grown fabulously wealthy making progressive rich whites feel guilty for sins they haven’t committed (while simultaneously being disappointed by them), and telling “people of color” they “need to get away from white people and have some community with each other.”

None of this is what Martin Luther King Jr. lived or died for. But it’s a pot of gold for grifters, race hustlers, status seekers, political hacks, and just plain mean people. At least we know who they are.

Full editorial is here.

God Bless America and President Trump

President Trump is in New York today to face the bogus charges filed against him by New York corrupt-o-crat DA Alvin Bragg. This blog does not generally link to prayers and messages of faith; the Tea Party organizations’ three core values are fiscal responsibility, limited government, and free markets.  In this case, I make an exception and can even justify it by pointing out the outrageous over-stepping of legal boundaries by the Manhattan DA, the very opposite of “limited government.”  Even if you are not theologically on the same page, Sundance’s prayer for President Trump will give you some strength;  click here.
