Ceding American sovereignty

More AF Branco cartoons at Creators Syndicate

The other day, this blog posted the link to the White House Declaration of North America, which effectively cedes American sovereignty and constitutional values to global communism, partnering with Mexico and Canada.  David Strom at Hot Air has a follow up, and he somehow managed to have some fun with the Declaration, more than this blog could manage.  Here’s an extract:

. . . America has a new DNA, I guess. Liberty used to be in our DNA, but apparently Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion has been injected into the country using a new mRNA vaccine or something.

The statement is a wonder to behold. And yes, that DNA reference was actually to deoxyribonucleic acid.

Today, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, President Joseph R. Biden, and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau met in Mexico City for the 10th North American Leaders’ Summit (NALS). The leaders are determined to fortify our region’s security, prosperity, sustainability and inclusiveness through commitments across six pillars: 1) diversity, equity, and inclusion; 2) climate change and the environment; 3) competitiveness; 4) migration and development; 5) health; and 6) regional security.

North America shares a unique history and culture that emphasizes innovation, equitable development, and mutually beneficial trade to create inclusive economic opportunities for the benefit of our people. We are not just neighbors and partners. Our people share bonds of family and friendship and value – above all else – freedom, justice, human rights, equality, and democracy. This is the North American DNA.

What is it about government folks being so incompetent when it comes to doing anything catchy? Bad acronyms and metaphors always.

Look at the priorities. Regional security. Nice to see it came in at #6. Immigration made it all the way up to #4.

DEI, and climate change, numbers 1 and 2. DEI is actually #1!

For God’s sake, make it stop! . . .

The rest of Mr Strom’s commentary is here.  The Declaration of North America is here. It's unconstitutional and will never be subject to ratification in the Senate.  So it is just another Biden Administration give-away of our freedoms and sovereignty.

Declaration of North America (DNA) : it’s Bad News

“White House occupant” Joe Biden is in Mexico for a summit with Justin Trudeau and Andrés Manuel Lopez-Obrador a/k/a AMLO.  Yesterday, the meeting produced a document, Declaration of North America (DNA), and it’s beyond frightening.  Read the whole thing here.  And here’s just a taste of America’s now-stated set of objectives and values that are clearly in violation of our constitution:

Diversity, equity, and inclusion is foundational to the strength, vibrancy, and resilience of our countries. We focus on providing marginalized communities opportunities for their full, equal, and meaningful participation in our democracies and economies. To advance these objectives, President López Obrador, President Biden, and Prime Minister Trudeau reiterated their joint commitment to protect civil rights, promote racial justice, expand protections for LGBTQI+ individuals and deliver more equitable outcomes to all.

Equal opportunity is not synonymous with “equitable outcomes”, which is to say, equal results.  And that's just a start.

All the alarming buzz words and phrases are in this Declaration (global, sustainability, climate crisis, electric vehicles, clean energy, expanded migration, post-COVID health security, etc). No mention of, oh, to pick one, the drug cartels.  Read the whole thing here (h/t Conservative Treehouse). It’s all about government control.  Over us.

Erasing the borders

This blog has been posting some of the more disturbing examples of America's self-inflicted wounds, the result of a government-gone-rogue engaged in deliberate destruction.  Yesterday, the subject was homelessness - by design.  Today, Frank Miele at Real Clear Politics has another example:

North America Goes South: The Plan To Dismantle USA

People are starting to realize that the collapse of the American border is not an accident. It can’t be. When the vice president of the United States says the border is “secure” at the same time that illegal border crossings have surged to more than a million a year, then one of two things must be true.

Either the vice president and the rest of the Biden administration have to be delusional, or they are lying. And while there is plenty of evidence that President Biden is cognitively challenged, there is no reason to believe that he or his handlers are out of touch with reality.

So they must be lying. But why? A lie is usually told to cover up some kind of bad behavior, some unacknowledged guilt or secretive misdeeds. Yet if there were an ulterior motive behind the Democratic policy of importing millions of unvetted immigrants into the interior of the country, what could it possibly be?

Unfortunately, there was no way to determine what the Biden administration was up to – until now. Two weeks ago, we learned that Biden’s Secretary of State Antony Blinken is actively engaged in a campaign to break down all barriers between the United States and Mexico. In other words, the huge influx of Mexicans and other foreigners across the U.S. border is just the first stage in a globalist effort to blur the lines between not just the United States and Mexico, but also Canada.

It’s called the North American Union, and the idea has been around for three decades. I wrote about it extensively between 2006 and 2008 when President George W. Bush was pushing it. . . .

It goes back further than that.  The rest of Mr Miele’s report is here and it cites chapter and verse.

Close the border : Alert

From Steve Salvi at Ohio Jobs & Justice Pac :

The President needs to assert himself as Commander in Chief and:

1. Close the US Mexico border until Mexico stops helping any aliens from reaching the US border.
2. Close all of Mexico's consulates in the US until Mexico stops helping aliens from reaching the US border.
3. Warn Mexico if it does not eliminate the cartels within its territory, the US military will.

It's time the US stop being a paper tiger and letting the tail wag the dog.

Caravan crossing the U.S.-Mexico border

From today’s NumbersUSA newsletter:

Thousands of Central Americans joined a caravan this week, originating in Honduras, with hopes of reaching the U.S.-Mexico border where they plan to claim asylum, illegally enter the country, or both.

Pres. Trump has already issued warnings to Honduras, El Salvador, and Guatemala, and has threatened to back out of the USMCA trade pact with Mexico if the country doesn't do its part to prevent the caravan from reaching the U.S. border. There are reports that Mexico is willing to cooperate.

The President has also said that he plans to move troops to the border to help prevent the caravan from entering the country.

So far, the Administration has responded well. But how it responds if, and when, the caravan reaches the U.S.-Mexico border remains to be seen.

If there's one thing that we've learned from past caravans and border surges, should any of the more than 4,000 economic migrants successfully make it into the United States, they'll be released to the interior of the country and never be heard from again.

Therefore, the best action the Trump Administration can take is to prevent anyone from the caravan from actually entering the country. Pres. Trump could even use his executive authority to shut down the U.S.-Mexico border to prevent the caravan from entering the U.S.

Handling Asylum Claims
Many in the caravan have told reporters that they plan on claiming asylum once they reach the United States, hoping to take advantage of loopholes within the process.

They've said they'll claim asylum because of the criminal violence throughout Central America and/or the lack of decent paying jobs. But under federal law, those are not reasons for claiming asylum.

Under both U.S. and international law, an asylee is someone who claims that they fear persecution from their government if returned to their home country because of the their "race, religion, nationality, membership in a particular social group, or political opinion."

If the caravan was actually fleeing persecution, they would apply for asylum in Mexico.
The U.S. should take all legitimate asylum claims seriously. But it is critical to deny the caravan admission into the United States while their claims are being considered. Again, once anyone from the caravan steps foot in the United States, they're here for good. DHS is already running short on detention space, so there will be no way to detain illegal border crossers and asylum seekers while their cases move through the process.

Preventing caravans and surges
The Trump Administration has already taken steps to strengthen the asylum process. Earlier this year, Attorney General Jeff Sessions issued a ruling that moved the adjudication of credible fear claims more in line with federal asylum law. DHS implemented the policy this summer. However, if the Administration does not take the necessary steps to prevent this caravan from reaching U.S. soil, this dangerous and unlawful migration will be the new norm.

But Congress also needs to act. The House Judiciary Committee has already marked up and passed H.R. 391, the Asylum Reform and Border Protection Act. House Leadership should bring the bill to the floor during the lame-duck session.

H.R. 391 would close the asylum loopholes by requiring that asylum adjudicators only approve credible fear claims when "it is more probable than not that the statements made by the alien in support of the alien's claim are true" and the alien is likely to be granted asylum in the U.S.

Winning on trade

art credit: moziru.com

News Gingrich’s latest message includes a short summary of President Trump’s trade deals:

The breakthrough in trade negotiations with Mexico is, to use one of President Trump’s favorite words, huge.

Most of the so-called experts had said the North Atlantic Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) couldn’t be renegotiated. They insisted Trump had offended Mexicans so much with his harsh language that the Mexican government wouldn’t come to the table. They asserted building the wall would alienate the Mexican leadership. They were just plain wrong.

President Trump’s progress on NAFTA sends five big signals:
1.    Making good on a big, disruptive pledge that set his 2016 campaign apart from every other candidate, President Trump kept his word and is forcing a difficult negotiation toward success.
2.    President Trump proved, once again, that tough language and tough negotiating can actually lead to breakthroughs. Unlike most politicians, Trump is willing to endure heat to achieve success.
3.    As a result of his seriousness on trade, other countries are now approaching Trump about trade negotiations (note German Chancellor Merkel’s call this week for trade talks).
4.    Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau tried to be clever when he ambushed and attempted to embarrass President Trump during a press conference at the G7 Summit in Canada. Trudeau is now discovering that Trump has a good memory. Canada now has virtually no leverage in trying to play catch up with the U.S.-Mexico negotiations.
5.    The Trump Administration’s continued attention to economic matters – despite the liberal media’s daily efforts to get him and his team off balance through dishonest reporting and smear stories – is paying off. The average American sees the economy getting better and better. And the average American increasingly thinks the success is due to President Trump.

Mr. Speaker’s full message is posted at Fox here.

The Wall ~ progress report

Via Breitbart: Yesterday, President Trump inspected eight prototypes for The Wall at the Mexican border. He prefers ones with see-through capability at ground level as well as those with a rounded top to make it more difficult to use a rope or grappling hooks to get over.

The controversial Dangerous blogger/authorMilo also preferred the one Trump leaned toward. Milo had some fun comments on the various prototypes of an artistic nature; I had missed the aesthetics. His blog is here

Donald J. Trump on Immigration policy

Press conference with Mexico President Neito earlier today

Donald Trump met earlier today with Mexico President Peña Neito on the subject of immigration policy, building the wall, and other topics of mutual interest.

Trump’s anticipated speech tonight on Immigration, from Arizona, is being broadcast live at 9pm (6 pm Phoenix time) on C-Span. If your cable provider does not include C-Span, you can watch a livestream RSBN video via YouTube (h/t Sundance). The video below is from the Phoenix venue covering pre-speech interviews. It will probably segue straight into Trump's speech; I'll post another link if it does not.

Here's a for sure live stream link to the speech (h/t Sundance). As I post this, Trump has just arrived in Phoenix:

Or, if you need an embiggened image, go straight to YouTube here.
