Every state is now a border state

Douglas Andrews at Patriot Post reports that

Governor Greg Abbott and his fellow Texans are under siege. So much so that he’s written an urgent letter to his 49 fellow governors to ask for their help. The letter begins:

President Joe Biden’s negligent disregard for America’s national security hit another devastating milestone last week when his Administration ended Title 42 expulsions. Since taking office, President Biden has willfully refused to enforce our nation’s immigration laws while systematically dismantling every effective border security policy that previously led to the lowest number of illegal border crossings in decades. The resultant surge in illegal immigration and transnational criminal activity is a direct consequence of these misguided actions, and yet President Biden further jeopardized our nation’s security by ending Title 42 expulsions on May 11, 2023.

Abbott then notes that while the flood of illegals hits Texas first, it doesn’t stay in Texas. “Emboldened Mexican drug cartels and other transnational criminal enterprises,” he writes, “profit off this chaos, smuggling people and dangerous drugs like fentanyl into communities nationwide.” Synthetic opioids including fentanyl, as the CDC reported Wednesday, killed 75,000 Americans in 2022.

Abbott’s message has apparently taken hold, as 24 Republican governors have responded.  . . .

Ohio’s governor is one of them.  Support includes human assets, equipment, vehicles, and the like.  The full report is here.

New voter photo ID law takes effect next week

Jake Zuckerman at Cleveland.com reports:

new state law takes effect next week requiring Ohioans to present a state-issued photo ID to vote, whether early or on Election Day.

The effective date next week means the new law will apply to voters participating in local and county elections taking place this year. Its fuller test, however, will occur next year in presidential, U.S. Senate and statewide races.

In previous elections, Ohioans could prove their identity with alternate forms of identification like a utility bill or bank statement with their address on it. But come April 7, they’ll need state-issued identification from Ohio or a valid U.S. passport. . . .

Ohio bans vaccine mandate. Good!

Amber Crawford at 100percentfedup reports:

A federal appeals court affirmed a ban on forcing workers who contract with the federal government to comply with the Biden regime’s federal vaccine mandate. This ban applies to Kentucky, Ohio, and Tennessee.

Biden had implemented vaccine mandates for workers contracting with the federal government – up to 25% of the U.S. workforce – that required them to wear face masks and get COVID-19 vaccines. In November 2021, a federal judge in Kentucky blocked this mandate for his state, along with Tennessee and Ohio.

On Thursday, the panel of the Sixth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals in Cincinnati maintained the lower court’s ruling that the mandate was unconstitutional. . . .

The “vaccines” do not work

Shawn Waugh at American Greatness explains why “The CDC Has Lost All Credibility”:

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) voted 15-0 last month to add the COVID-19 mRNA vaccines to the recommended childhood schedule. . . .

The actual recommendation from the CDC is that children begin getting COVID-19 inoculations at 6 months of age.

The CDC quickly pointed out that the organization cannot issue specific mandates and that the panel’s recommendation serves only to “help streamline clinical guidance for healthcare providers by including all currently licensed, authorized and routinely recommended vaccines in one document.”

That may be technically true. We know, however, that COVID-19 jabs, regardless of their true efficacy, have become a sacrament within the Branch Covidian church. Moreover, the CDC has significant influence on states and healthcare facilities regarding vaccination schedules. States commonly use CDC guidelines to protect themselves from legal liability when implementing local regulations. So the CDC’s decision will undoubtedly lead Covidian governors to add the CDC’s recommendation to their states’ vaccination schedules. In turn, this will mean parents must have their children vaccinated if they want them to attend public school, daycare, and participate in sports.

Before the tainted woke vote even took place, however, Florida’s Surgeon General Joseph Ladapo tweeted: “Regardless of what the CDC votes on whether COVID-19 vaccines are added to routine child immunizations—nothing changes in Florida.”

Florida and 19 other states [Ohio is one of them] have already implemented bans on COVID-19 vaccine mandates for students. And for good reason. The vaccines don’t work as advertised.

The Inconvenient Facts

We now know, without a doubt, that vaccination does not stop one from contracting or transmitting COVID-19. This is a far cry from the original false claims of the Covidian prophets about the jab.

Remember what they promised.

“When you get vaccinated, you not only protect your own health and that of the family but also you contribute to the community’s health by preventing the spread of the virus throughout the community,” said Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and chief medical advisor to the White House.

“You’re not going to get COVID if you have these vaccinations,” insisted Joe Biden.

“Vaccinated people do not carry the virus and don’t get sick,” vowed CDC Director Rochelle Walensky.

The CDC has since fervently walked back Walensky’s comments. No such luck from Fauci or the White House as they stand firmly behind their outright dishonesty and false doctrines.

We also know that children are at incredibly low risk of succumbing to COVID-19. A British study showed that the death rate from COVID-19 for those under 18 years old was 0.0002 percent. That’s two per million! It also showed that the survival rate for that same age group after a positive infection was 99.995 percent. This study doesn’t even include the scores of children who weren’t tested or who were unknowingly positive yet asymptomatic.

Not only do we know that the vaccines do not stop transmission, a top Pfizer official recently admitted to the European Parliament that their vaccine had not even been tested to see whether it prevented transmission. So the claims that it stopped transmission were entirely fabricated.

As for any adverse side effects, the Covidian clergy is quick to give a stump sermon dismissing these concerns and proclaiming the vaccines are “completely safe” and have the church’s blessing. It’s just another false edict.

There have been clear instances of young, otherwise healthy, vaccinated men with myocarditis. In young women, the vaccine can adversely affect and alter menstrual cycles. We still do not have adequate data concerning vaccination and pregnancy. We are just praying that we do not have another Thalidomide disaster on our hands.

Much more at the link here.  The State of Ohio has banned student vaccine mandates (the source map is here).  But so much damage has already been done.

2022 election next week

Updated from last month:  The part of any ballot that finds me generally unprepared is the judicial section, particularly the down ballot candidates.  So I consult the website Judge4yourself for candidate ratings.  The ratings also include endorsements by cleveland.com, which is my rule-of-thumb for choosing the other (non-endorsed) candidate.  However, this year, there are a couple of judicial candidates who either wouldn't respond to any questions or who got such negatives from the other resources that I would make an exception and vote for the cleveland.com-endorsed candidate (i.e., J Synenberg and Wanda Jones).  Speaking for myself, I either print out the lists or jot the preferred names down on a notepad, as I don't otherwise remember most of their names when I go to vote.

Ohio Voter registration deadline is today Oct. 11.

The part of any ballot that finds me generally unprepared is the judicial section, particularly the down ballot candidates.  So I consult the website Judge4yourself for candidate ratings.  The ratings also include endorsements by cleveland.com, which is my rule-of-thumb for choosing the other candidate -- in most cases.  This year, there are a couple of judicial candidates who either wouldn't respond to any questions or who got such negatives from the other resources that I would make an exception and vote for the cleveland.com-endorsed candidate (i.e., J Synenberg and Wanda Jones).  Speaking for myself, I either print out the lists or jot the preferred names down on a notepad, as I don't otherwise remember most of their names when I go to vote.

Reasons to oppose Electric Vehicles

John Hinderaker at PowerLine shares some common sense objections to California's mad dash to electric vehicles (and yes, it's coming to Ohio also):

Are people finally starting to catch on to the fact that electric vehicles are a terrible idea? I hope so. Bjorn Lomborg makes the case in accessible form in the Wall Street Journal. To begin with, EVs don’t even save much on CO2 emissions:

Over its lifetime, an electric car does emit less CO2 than a gasoline car, but the difference can range considerably depending on how the electricity is generated. Making batteries for electric cars also requires a massive amount of energy, mostly from burning coal in China. Add it all up and the International Energy Agency estimates that an electric car emits a little less than half as much CO2 as a gasoline-powered one.

What does that up to, in terms of climate?

If every country achieved its stated ambitious electric-vehicle targets by 2030, the world would save 231 million tons of CO2 emissions. Plugging these savings into the standard United Nations Climate Panel model, that comes to a reduction of 0.0002 degree Fahrenheit by the end of the century.

On that basis alone, the left’s mania to make us all drive electric vehicles is insane. But from there on, the story is all negative:

Electric cars’ impact on air pollution isn’t as straightforward as you might think. The vehicles themselves pollute only slightly less than a gasoline car because their massive batteries and consequent weight leads to more particulate pollution from greater wear on brakes, tires and roads. On top of that, the additional electricity they require can throw up large amounts of air pollution depending on how it’s generated. One recent study found that electric cars put out more of the most dangerous particulate air pollution than gasoline-powered cars in 70% of U.S. states. An American Economic Association study found that rather than lowering air pollution, on average each additional electric car in the U.S. causes additional air-pollution damage worth $1,100 over its lifetime.

. . .

Left-wing governments are on a collision course with normal Americans. Governments want to force Americans to rely on wind and solar energy, but those sources can’t keep the lights on and are ruinously expensive. Similarly, governments want to force us all into electric vehicles, which are not as functional as gas-powered vehicles, despite being more expensive. And they are a net detriment to the environment. Lomborg is optimistic, perhaps more so than I am:

Read the rest here.

And Mr. Hinderaker didn’t even get to the problems with existing minerals required to produce the batteries, or the disposal of spent batteries, or the horrific damage done by strip mining to extract, say, the lithium (see aerial image at the top).

Primary Election tomorrow

There is a Primary Election on Tuesday, August 2, 2022.  The Cuyahoga County Board of Elections website is here.  It is not the most user-friendly site, but you can rummage around to see who is running in your district(s).

The Ohio Senate district map is here, and the locator function is pretty easy to use.  Then you can see if your district will offer candidates for the Ohio Republican Party (ORP) state central committee.  For what it may be worth, if you vote in one of the districts below, the Cuyahoga Valley Republicans are endorsing these candidates for the central committee:

  • Terri Shawhan - District 18
  • Jack Boyle - District 18
  • Lucy Stickan - District 21

Turnout is projected to be low, so you are likely to get right in.

Ohio AG opposes the Orwellian "Disinformation Governance Board"

Dillon Burroughs at The Daily Wire reports

Virginia Republican Attorney General Jason Miyares sent a letter signed by 20 GOP attorneys general on Thursday to Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas threatening legal action against its ‘un-American’ Disinformation Governance Board.

. . .

“Freedom of speech is the bedrock of democracy. Instead of protecting and fostering it, this administration wants to create an organization that would have federal bureaucrats monitoring citizens’ speech. This would undoubtedly lead to Americans self-censoring their ideas and debates. I am concerned about the spread of false information, but creating a federal agency to police speech is not the way to address it. As the Attorney General of the Commonwealth of Virginia, I cannot stand by as the rights of every Virginian are being threatened. The war on the First Amendment must stop,” he wrote.

In addition to Virginia, the other states represented in the letter include Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, and West Virginia.

The effort comes following another letter by Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee sent to new Disinformation Governance Board leader Nina Jankowicz asking her to provide testimony regarding her new role.

The letter was signed by Ohio Republican Rep. Jim Jordan, a ranking member of the committee, along with 11 additional GOP House Judiciary Committee members. . . .

Good to see that Ohio is on the list.  Read the full report here.

Trump rally in Delaware County this evening April 23 UPDATED

Donald J. Trump headlines a rally this evening (Apr-23) at the Delaware County Fairgrounds, his first trip to Ohio since last summer. Trump is slated to speak at 7 p.m., with around three hours of speakers before him beginning at 4 p.m.

This rally may be a game-changer - - and not for the better.  Trump has been under heavy fire from Ohio liberty and veteran’s groups for endorsing squish JD Vance in the Senate race to replace squish Rob Portman.  Cleveland Tea Party’s Ralph King posted this link from Daily Mail reporting on veterans urging Trump to RESCIND his endorsement of Vance.  So one of two scenarios this evening are likely:  1) attendance is way down  or 2) patriots at the rally start to boo when Trump introduces Vance.  Or perhaps Trump will announce he has indeed rescinded his endorsement. We can hope.

Links to Right Side Broadcast Network (RSBN) livestreams will be posted here later today.

UPDATE:  The Right Scoop has the RSBN links here.

Ohio redistricting update

Bonchie at Red State reports:

The sweet smell of victory is in the air this morning after it became apparent that Republicans are going to win the redistricting fight in Ohio. As RedState reported previously (see Pain and Loathing Commence After Surprise Ohio Redistricting Decision), despite the Ohio Supreme Court once again striking down maps drawn by the GOP legislature, the decision itself was entered as a final judgment. What that meant is that any challenge to the next maps submitted would need to start all over as a new lawsuit.

With the primary set to happen in early May, the districts must be finalized by then for the November mid-terms. That hurdle meant that another lawsuit likely wouldn’t have enough time to progress, and that’s been confirmed after the Ohio Supreme Court released the timeline for any new challenge. . . .

Read the full report here. I’m not so sure this is a good development, even though it’s being viewed as a win for the R’s. Sadly, for years both parties have been trying to gerrymander the districts. Just look at MarcyKaptur’s district (9th) in the map at the top.

The People’s Convoy: now 15-miles long

100percentfedup has the report on the California-to-DC truckers’ The People’s Convoy:

When over 50K truckers joined the Freedom convoy in Canada, Americans cheered them on as they made their trek to Ottawa and other strategic destinations to fight for freedom from COVID restrictions and mandates.

Now, the American truckers are picking up the torch of freedom from the Canadians and are carrying it from CA to Washington DC where they will park their rigs on March 4th and take a stand against COVID mandates and restrictions in America.

Independent reporter John Spiropolous is traveling with The People’s Convoy and sharing ground reports along the route.

According to the Last Refuge – John has reported today the convoy is gathering participants along the route and now encompasses approximately 15 miles of trucks. . . . The overpasses along the route are filled with cheering supporters.

More here, including a really cool Rumble video of the convoy.  The map and itinerary show that the closest the convoy will get to northern Ohio is south of Canton, east of Columbus:

  • Day 9: Thursday, March 3
  • Morning – Depart Indianapolis, IN area
  • Evening – Arrive in Cambridge, OH area for overnight stay

Share this report of the US Freedom / People's Convoy with your family and friends; as usual, the mainstream media is pretty much ignoring it.

There are evidently several convoys, most of them converging in the greater DC/Maryland area.  The one originating in Cleveland is on March 6.  These are the details posted so far at the website:

Ohio to Washington DC Area: Cleveland

We are launching a cross-country convoy from Ohio to the Washington DC area. Join the convoy at the closest junction near you! Remember, if you can't make the cross- country journey you can always join with the convoy as it comes through your city/town.

  • Convoy Launch
  • Date: March 6th
  • Cleveland Rt. 76 or 79
  • Follow down to 76, to 70, 66, 66 into final destinations
  • Distance: 374 Miles
  • Time: 5 Hours 52 Minutes
  • All day

No information on time(s) of day yet.  Updates to follow when available.
