Never Talk About Marxism - but it's in the schools

At andmagazine.substack, Sam Faddis describes the decline and fall of the American education system.  If you have kids or grandkids in school, this will be of interest (read: reason for alarm):

. . . Apparently, Marxists, at least in modern-day America, have the same rule. The first rule about Marxism is you don’t talk about Marxism.

Americans hate Marxism. They understand it is a failed ideology that has killed hundreds of millions of people and laid waste to entire nations. They do not want it here. So, even as the revolutionaries spread their doctrine and feed it to your children they color it as something else.

. . .

Our schools are under the control of an educational establishment completely infiltrated by Marxists who detest this nation and everything it stands for. They are not attempting to teach your children to read, write or do arithmetic. They are training them as revolutionaries for the express purpose of destroying this nation from within.

That is the obvious truth. And, yet, somehow, it cannot be said. The first rule of Marxism is as we know – you can’t talk about Marxism.

Unintended consequences or deliberate destruction?

At American Thinker, Patricia McCarthy published an excellent summary of the damage inflicted on America to date by the Biden administration.  Here’s some of it:

. . . The damage this progressive cult has done has crippled America in nearly every way possible.  As Steve Feinstein has written, "[t]hese Democrat policies have tangibly and dramatically degraded the quality of life in America[.]"

Inheriting a nation that was energy independent under Trump, Biden put an end to that on day one.  To say his botched withdrawal from Afghanistan was catastrophic is a gross understatement.  He left billions of dollars of state-of-the-art military equipment there and effectively handed Bagram AFB to the Chinese.  Thirteen young Americans were killed needlessly, and thousands of Americans were left stranded to the Taliban.

We do not know as yet, but Biden's folly with Putin and Ukraine could lead to nuclear war.  Biden's devastatingly poor judgment has knocked the dollar off its hundred-year run as the global currency while Putin's ruble has rebounded.  None of the above would have happened or would be happening if Trump were still in office — and everyone knows this.  In short, this administration is the most destructive in American history by any measure.  Biden's Cabinet is the most incompetent in history.  The nation may never recover and the criminal cabal that put him in office is responsible.

Thanks to investigative journalists Peter Schweizer and Miranda Devine, we know that Biden and his son Hunter are congenitally corrupt and virtually owned by the Communist Party of China.  They also used Ukraine as a financial playground, as did the Clintons.  Under the circumstances, it is not outside the realm of possibility that COVID was part of a plan to see Trump ousted from office, to make mail-in ballots seem necessary and to destroy the Trump economy in one fell swoop.  We know that Fauci and his evil pals obsessed with making viruses more dangerous have long-term ties to China, as does Biden, and as do numerous other NeverTrumps in Congress.

. . .

When Obama came to office, he liked to think he was elected to manage our decline.  It was Obama who weaponized the FBI, the CIA and the DOJ.  Obama hated America; he set back race relations at least fifty years.  With the advent of Black Lives Matter, the Democrat party lurched farther to the left; they've now gone so far left that they are aligned with the CCP.  It is as though they have adopted Orwell's dystopian novel 1984 as a handbook for the running of the United States.  Can all this damage done be chalked up to stupidity and incompetence, or is it by design?  . . .

David Horowitz: Naming the Enemy

National treasure David Horowitz of Freedom Center offered his remarks at the annual Restoration Weekend conference.  This extract is via FrontPageMag:

As we have been saying now for several years, these enemies of our great country now control the Democrat Party and all three branches of government and have taken us to a point where we might be one election away from losing our country altogether.

. . .

A small but not insignificant sign of our impact was brought home to me the other day. I was on a radio show whose host happened to be a trustee of one of California’s K-12 school districts. He told me that at a school board meeting the other week, a protesting parent shouted out, “David Horowitz says, ‘Don’t call them liberals.’”

The K-12 schools have become the latest battlegrounds of the left’s efforts to dismantle our country’s constitutional order and replace it with a socialist tyranny. The weapons of political war are words. If the other side is calling you “racists,” “white supremacists,” “insurrectionists,” and “domestic terrorists,” and you are calling them “liberals” and “progressives,” you are not going to win that war. That has been a key message of the Center for more than 30 years.

Republicans and conservatives seem intent on preventing our political enemies from being embarrassed by the malignant plans they have in store for us. Over the past seventeen years Democrats have conducted a relentless war against the First Amendment, have blown up our southern border, and flown unvetted criminals, COVID carriers, and terrorists to unknown destinations in our country in the middle of the night. Everyone knows they are doing this to rig future elections and create a one-party state. Are they ruthless and unprincipled enough to do this? They have locked up hundreds of individuals arrested in the Capitol on January 6th and put many of them in solitary confinement for 10 months. The crime these “insurrectionists” are charged with is “trespassing.” You bet Pelosi and Biden and their entourage are ruthless.

Don’t call them liberals, and don’t call them progressives. What is progressive about wanting a re-run of the Third Reich or Stalin’s Russia? They are fascists. . . .

Looking at the 2021 election results: Mark Wauck

Mark Wauck at Meaning in History has some insights into the results of yesterday's mid-terms:

The 2021 elections pretty much marked the completion of the ongoing crash-and-burn of the Zhou regime’s agenda. The number one priority for Dems—especially, but not only, those in swing districts—will be how to distance themselves from the hard Left that has set their party’s policy stances. That won’t be easy, and increasing numbers of Dems will probably end up deciding to throw in the towel—resign, not run in 2022, rather than go through the meat grinder of a losing election. Recruiting quality replacement candidates willing to fight an uphill campaign won’t be easy. This attempt to pivot will prove to be somewhat akin to dancing with shoelaces untied, in part because the hard Left has become the center of gravity for the Dem party and they’re not interested in changing the brand to anything approaching normality.

In the meantime, life goes on across the fruited plain. In what the Zhou regime hopes will become the new normal, large corporations are plotting ways to coerce decent, hard working employees into participating in a dangerous medical experiment—or firing their asses if they decline. Nice place America has become. The regime tells corporations to jump, and they say: Who do we fire?

There have already been plenty of signs that this is not going to go smoothly. This has been particularly evident among municipal employees—police, firefighters, sanitation workers, but also in healthcare, where the mandates are causing severe staffing shortages. Not to mention the resentment and loss of employee good will toward their employers. , , ,

America in The Twilight Zone?

Patricia McCarthy is a frequent contributor to American Thinker, and I would describe her as level-headed, certainly not prone to wild and crazy conspiracy theories.  So I was interested to see her article “Vaccines: We Are Living in The Twilight Zone” late last week.  She references that famous Twilight Zone episode where earthlings are racing to get on the spaceship to travel to a distant planet, not realizing the alien “book” they’ve been translating is a cookbook, and the earthlings are the food.  Are there comparisons to today’s societal collapse?  You decide.  This extract is close to the end of her article:

Biden’s participation in the Great Reset looks real. He ceased the building of the border wall on day one of his presidency.  He stopped the Keystone pipeline and ended oil drilling on all federal lands.  He purposefully upended the energy independence Trump had achieved.  Gasoline in California is now around $5 a gallon.  Who does this hurt?  The working poor among us.  And with each passing day, it becomes clearer that Biden will not do anything to protect American interests, in Afghanistan for example,  if it might anger China.  He is without a doubt the worst president in US history.  He has, from day one, capitulated to all of America’s enemies,  angered our allies, and put the US, Taiwan, South Korea, and Japan in grave danger.  The ever-so-complicit Fauci who had a hand in developing covid in Wuhan is as pro-China as Biden.

In the meantime, breakthrough infections are killing people as surely as if they were sustenance for the ruling class.   Lives are most likely being cut short, vaccinated teens are being diagnosed with myocarditis.   Moderna has delayed vaxxing teens because of myocarditis.  The entire population of vaccinated people is vulnerable to blood clotting (VITT).

Despite the volumes of information available about the dangers of the vaccines, such information is avoided or suppressed by the mainstream media.  One has to go searching for it.  So as the jabs keep injuring and killing, they have proven not to protect from Covid and yet the administration and its handmaidens in the media pretend this isn’t so and keep demanding every single person be vaxxed.  Those that submit do not realize they are just pawns in a very nasty global reset plan to… what?  Depopulation?  Shorten lifespans?  Cause infertility?  Massively increasing the wealth of the already wealthy?  All of the above?  . . .

Food . . . for thought.  Read the rest of the article here.

Think Piece of The Day: Victor Davis Hanson

This blog is a huge fan of Victor David Hanson. His perspectives as a specialist in classical history always gets my attention.  In his column at American Greatness, ("Trump Winds and Biden Whirlwinds"), he starts off:

Victimizers quickly becoming victims is a recurrent theme of Thucydides’ history. In his commentary on the so-called stasis at Corcyra, he offers his most explicit warning about the long-term dangers of destroying legal institutions, customs, and traditions that serve the common good for short-term gain.

The historian notes that in the inevitable yin and yang of politics, the destroyers inevitably will seek, but do so in vain, refuge in what they have destroyed. Between 2017 and 2021 the Left has done exactly that.

. . .

What was the catalyst that turned a left-wing Democratic Party into a cultural revolutionary mob? In other words, why in our 233rd year of the republic are Democrats so intent to destroy the Electoral College, pack the court, admit new states to the Union, junk the filibuster, and federalize national election laws? What was so wrong with assimilation, integration, intermarriage, the “content of our character,” and race as incidental rather than essential to who we are? What has the woke revolution offered us instead?

. . .

What are the lasting consequences of all this madness?

The Left should hope that House Republicans are Marquess of Queensberry players and do not emulate the Democrats’ behavior. They should hope that a Republican chairman of the House intelligence committee would not monitor the phone records of Representative Adam Schiff (D-Calif.). For if the opposition did gain the majority in November 2022, Joe Biden’s past involvement with foreign monied interests, and the evidence of his shady behavior from his own son’s laptop texts offer a far more convincing case of impeachable offenses—failure to report to the IRS off-the-books income, influence peddling, and abject lying about foreign quid pro quo involvement—than does a single Ukrainian phone call.  All that exposure is well aside from Biden’s deliberate decision not to enforce, as his job requires, federal immigration law.

David Horowitz: Call to arms

We are not only watching massive voter fraud emerge, we have also witnessed the destruction of Election Day.  Election Weeks, no requirement for voter ID or signature matching, mail-in ballots, and so many other ways to game the system.  David Horowitz of Freedom Center has a guest post at Power Line, which starts off:

FIGHTING WORDS, BY DAVID HOROWITZ

Our friend David Horowitz wrote this essay, which he titled “Fighting Words.” It is a call for freedom-loving Americans to fight back against the totalitarian Left.

By now it should be obvious – even to conservatives – that we are in a war. It is a conflict that began nearly fifty years ago when the street revolutionaries of the Sixties joined the Democrat Party. Their immediate goal was to help the Communist enemy win the war in Vietnam, but they stayed to expand their influence in the Democrat Party and create the radical force that confronts us today. The war that today’s Democrats are engaged in reflects the values and methods of those radicals. It is a war against us – against individual freedom, against America’s constitutional order, and against the capitalist engine of our prosperity.

Democrat radicals know what they want and where they are going. As a result, they are tactically and organizationally years ahead of patriotic Americans who are only beginning to realize they are in a war. The Democrats’ plan to steal the 2020 election was hatched many years ago when Democrats launched their first attacks on Voter I.D.s, and then every effort to secure the integrity of the electoral system. Those attacks metastasized into an all-out assault on Election Day itself with early- and late-voting grace periods, and a flood of 92 million mail-in ballots, hundreds of thousands of which were delivered in the middle of the night to be counted behind the backs of Republican observers after Election Day had passed.

The result of these efforts is that Election Day no longer really exists as a day when the votes are cast and counted. This is a fact that offers generous opportunities for the election saboteurs to do their work. Those saboteurs’ opportunities were greatly enhanced this year with the installation in battle ground states of voting machines specifically designed to calculate how many votes were required to steal an election and then to switch ballots already cast and deliver them to the chosen party. Mail-in ballots were indispensable to the realization of this plan.

Schlichter: Stop Making Sense

It does seem almost impossible to make sense out of the chaos we are seeing everywhere.  Kurt Schlichter is always funny, and he always makes sense.  Here’s are some snippets from “Stop Making Sense” at Townhall:

You cannot reason with these people. Forget trying to convince them. You are not going to talk them out of their quest for power over you by deploying bourgeois conceits like "facts" and "evidence." Yet so many of us see what's happening and still take to Twitter or (increasingly) Parler to point out the sheer ridiculousness of the enemy's latest antics. But these actions are not ridiculous. They are tactically genius. Instead of confronting an impenetrable defense, they just scuttle around it and attack into our rear.
. . .
It's time for us to riot, not in the streets, because we have jobs and we're not going to destroy our own stuff, but at the ballot box. That's where we lay waste to their Venezuelan dreams. In the primaries, vote for woke conservatives, not establishment saps. And then in November, vote straight Republican down the ballot.
. . .
Finally, step four: Stop making sense. Unless it's directed at the unwoke, making sense is a waste of your time. This is about power. Time to use yours.

Mr. Schlichter’s article is here.  And it’s a bit of a wild ride.

When That Did Not Work …

Historian Victor Davis Hanson is always eloquent, and his column here at American Greatness provides a handy history of the Progressives' efforts to de-legitimize candidate Donald Trump, President-Elect Donald Trump, and President Donald Trump. Hanson starts off:

Right after the 2016 election, Green Party candidate Jill Stein—cheered on by Hillary Clinton dead-enders—sued in three states to recount votes and thereby overturn Donald Trump’s victory in the Electoral College. Before the quixotic effort imploded, Stein was praised as an iconic progressive social justice warrior who might stop the hated Trump from even entering the White House.

When that did not work, B-list Hollywood celebrities mobilized, with television and radio commercials, to shame electors in Trump-won states into not voting for the president-elect during the official Electoral College balloting in December 2016. Their idea was that select morally superior electors should reject their constitutional directives and throw the election into the House of Representatives where even more morally superior NeverTrump Republicans might join with even much more morally superior Democrats to find the perfect morally superior NeverTrump alternative.

Hanson recites all the failed efforts -- “When that did not work” -- to rid this country of its duly-elected President.  The full article is here; it’s a good one to save for future reference.

Morning or Mourning in America?

cartoon credit: politicalcorrectnessrunamok.blogspot.com

The recounts continue in Florida, Georgia, and Arizona. More ballots are mysteriously popping out of closets, trunks of cars, magicians’ hats. Macron just insulted President Trump again. Etc., etc. Feeling worn down?

Sally Zelikovsky has something of a post-election pep talk at American Thinker. She concludes:

Warriors don’t retreat just as they are making inroads. We may not be fighting a kinetic war, but it is our destiny to fight this ideological war for the soul of this country.  It is just as vital and, in some ways harder, because the enemy is an internal hegemon--progressivism.  Fortunately, it no longer hides in the shadows.

We see its face every day. It is tenacious, brazenly mendacious, ferocious, avaricious, ubiquitous; it is relentless and merciless.

This is not a war with swords and guns, but of words and actions.  My father fought against NAFTA for 30 years.  Trump couldn’t have changed NAFTA without the efforts of people like Dad.  The president can’t do all he has to do in the next two years without us either.

The midterms were a mixed bag and left us feeling pretty lousy.  And it’s not over given the looming morass of election challenges.  We also face the exhausting reality that the left will not stop until they take down a president who has our back in a way I’ve never seen in a political leader, let alone a president. Are we going to let this happen?

America’s conservatives are at a crossroads.  We can tack to the right and commit to a new “morning in America,” emboldened by the power we have as the People, by judges and representatives devoted to  conservatism, and a Senate majority that can punch back working in tandem with a fearless and indefatigable President.  Or, we can tack to the left, where we’d be “mourning in America” because we let the light go out on this beacon on a hill.

Fascism: redefining the word

woody.typepad via Steven Crowder/Twitter

If you managed to wade through Jonah Goldberg’s Liberal Fascism, you already know that the term “fascism” has been misappropriated by Communists, Progressives, and other left-of-center isms to mean the opposite of its original far left definition. Several online dictionaries today reflect the switch in meaning, and even the Wikipedia entry shows the difficulty of navigating the origins of the term and its current usage by the political Left as a pejorative.

Today Bookworm (of the Bookworm Room blog) has a piece at American Thinker that summarizes the origin of the left/right nomenclature and the sleight-of-hand in redefining “fascism” – all in the context of a short history lesson. The entire article is here. Below are a couple of extracts:

For months now, the Democrat-Progressive fever swamps have been using the word “fascist” in connection with Donald Trump and those who voted for him. It took Michael Kinsley to elevate this shoddy claim onto pages of the Washington Post: Trump, he asserts, is a fascist.
. . .
Given that conservatives Republicans, including the majority of Trump supporters, are on the liberty side of the spectrum, far from the world’s most brutal tyrants, what gave rise to the glaringly false syllogism that “Republicans are right-wing fascists and Hitler was a right-win fascist, so all Republicans are Hitler”?

You can blame it on a nasty little historic and linguistic trick American communists pulled, which was to make “fascism” synonymous with the political “right.” Once having done that, they could claim that American conservatives, being “right wing,” are therefore fascist. This is pure disinformation.
. . .
“Fascism,” another historic term, is one that American statists embraced until Hitler tainted it. It first gained political traction in Italy in the 1920s. Mussolini defined it to mean “All within the state, nothing outside the state, nothing against the state.” In other words, fascism is purely on the statist side of the continuum.

Savvy readers will have noticed that fascism sounds remarkably like communism: It’s all about concentrating all power in the state, leaving the individual entirely subordinate to the state. The primary difference between the two ideologies is that in communism the government nationalizes private property, whereas in fascism the government does not nationalize it but nevertheless completely controls — as is the case, for example, with Obamacare, which saw the government establish the rules for the private insurance market and mandate that Americans buy the product.
. . .
One more thing: Obama said that the biggest disappointment of his presidency was his failure to grab more guns from American hands.  Statists always grab guns because their regimes are fundamentally hostile to the citizens they control, making it impossible for those citizens to defend themselves against tyrannical government. Trump’s promise to protect the Second Amendment is the antithesis of a statist, especially a “fascist,” regime.

Progressive culture and the 2012 election

At National Review Online (“Double-Minded Republicans”), Andrew McCarthy has sobering words about why conservatives need to get out the conservative vote:
After a first term that has been historically abysmal, President Obama stands a good chance of being reelected. How can that be?

Here is the blunt explanation: We have lost a third of the country and, as if that weren’t bad enough, Republicans act as if it were two-thirds.

The lost third cannot be recovered overnight. For now, it is gone. You cannot cede the campus and the culture to the progressive, post-American Left for two generations and expect a different outcome. So even if Obama is the second coming of Jimmy Carter — and he has actually been much more effective, and therefore much worse — it is unreasonable to expect a Reagan-style landslide, and would be even if we had Reagan. The people coming of age in our country today have been reared very differently from those who were just beginning to take the wheel in the early 1980s. They have marinated in an unapologetically progressive system that prizes group discipline and narrative over free will and critical thought.
. . .
The third of the country we’ve lost may seem like a decided minority. Progressives do not need more than that, though, to run the show, not today. They proved that at their own convention this week, with the laughable platform-amendment episode.
. . .
Obama’s base, that lost third of the country, may not be as enthralled as they were in 2008. But they are committed, utterly convinced about who the villains are, and prepared to be as chameleon as it takes to reel in, from the culture they dominate, the additional 15 percent or so needed to push their guy across the finish line. That’s how what should be a landslide for his opponent becomes a squeaker.

Tea Party Patriots need to stay focused on ANY wobbly voters, those who may fall in the "enthusiasm gap,” and those even thinking about a third party candidate, in this election countdown.
