BRICS 101

Daisy Luther at Discern Report provides a good overview of the BRICS alliance.  Here’s her opener:

BRICS Is Expanding:
Here’s Why That’s Very Concerning for the US

You may have heard the term “BRICS” when reading about world affairs and wondered what it was all about. As we watch the American dollar and economy lose power on the world stage, this alliance could quickly move to take its place, especially as other countries that used to be allied with us move over this bloc.

As a matter of opinion, I think that on the global stage, BRICS is a union we should watch, as there are several large economic powers involved that aren’t exactly friends of the United States of America. Should this group continue to grow, it’s possible that it could dramatically affect us with regard to world trade. And that’s at the very least.

What is BRICS?

BRICS is an economic alliance that has been around since about 2001. Jim O’Neill from Goldman Sachs coined the acronym BRIC to represent the original countries: Brazil, Russia, India, and China. By 2010, South Africa had been added, bringing us to the current acronym.

. . .

For many years, the United States has been a primary global economic power, but as our star shines a little less brightly due to our economic difficulties, poor governmental management, and less than stellar relationships with several other countries, BRICS seems poised to step into the position our nation once held.

. . .

But…the union seems intent on expanding, and other nations are in the midst of an application process. Multiple countries have asked to become a part of the bloc.

The nations that have formally applied for acceptance into the cooperative are:

    • Algeria
    • Argentina
    • Bahrain
    • Egypt
    • Indonesia
    • Iran
    • Saudi Arabia
    • United Arab Emirates

The Illusion of Choice

Laurie T. Vass is co- author with Thomas E. Vass of Reclaiming the American Democratic Impulse (2017). I had not heard of the title, and there were no reader reviews at Amazon.  She recently posted a reader comment at Conservative Treehouse that fills in more of the blanks in Sundance’s ongoing Uniparty exposés and explanations:

. . .Sundance states that,

“both the DNC and RNC are private corporations with no affiliation to government. [The differences between the two private corporations] is NOT primarily ideological. In the modern era, the corporate priority first begins with a battle over who controls [the internal power] in each corporation.”

. . .

Our historical analysis begins around 1985, with two political party developments in America.

During this early era, the Democrats slowly transformed from a political party that promoted the financial interests of working class citizens, to a more overtly Marxist party, that sought to implement a Marxist regime in America.

In the case of Democrats, they abandoned the working class, and embraced the class war rhetoric of Marx.

The election of Obama, in 2008, completed the transition of the Democrat Party to an ideological party, intent on the overthrow of the American government.

Beginning around 1985, with the opening of China as a trading partner, Republicans abandoned the national economic sovereignty interest of growing the economic pie, in favor of an open-border globalism that directed the benefits of global trade to themselves.

As Sundance correctly points out, when the Republican Party transitioned to an overtly global corporatist orientation, working and middle class MAGA citizens lost a political voice within the Vichy Republican Party.

As Sundance stated,

“The RNC want to give the illusion of support for MAGA conservatism because they need the base voter, and they need to maintain the illusion of choice.”

Sundance’s posting titled “Mid-Tier Donor Class Very Worried About Ron DeSantis 2024 Management Agenda” is here.  Scroll down for reader comments including the one quoted above, or search the comments pages for “Laurie Vass”.  The extract above is a brief one from a much longer comment.  I don't know if I agree with her conclusions, but then, I have not read either her 2017 or her forthcoming book.

Media "logic"

Jack Hellner at American Thinker points out the sheer idiocy of the mainstream media:

This morning on the Today Show, White House doctor and Covid-19 “response coordinator” Ashish Jha was asked about the shortage of children’s medicine. He said there is plenty of supply, but demand is just too high. The hosts on the Today Show didn’t seem to have a problem with such a stupid answer, as they breezed on without even taking a moment to consider the absurdity of his statement. Why is this man treated as an expert on anything?

Using Jha’s “logic”:

  • Last year there was not a shortage of baby formula, there were just too many darn mothers wanting to feed their hungry babies.
  • There will not be a shortage of heating oil this year, there will just be too many people wanting to heat their homes.
  • The economy is doing fantastic, if only real wages hadn’t been dropping for two years straight.
  • The border is closed and secure, there are just too many illegals wanting to cross.
  • The Biden policies are working well; conservatives are just racist.
  • Crime is under control in major Democrat run cities; there are just too many criminals on the streets.
  • The Afghanistan exit went perfectly well, if not for the deaths, and weapons left behind for terrorists.

The media personalities that allow Jha a pass on his contradictions are the same people that have done little (if any) reporting on the outrageous collusion between government Swamp creatures and the leftwing activists at Twitter to squelch bad press on the Biden family corruption. They were not outraged that Trump and other conservative voices were silenced. They didn’t care that respected and renowned members of the medical community were banned from a social media platform for daring to offer alternative views on the Covid-19 narrative, or disagreeing with governments dictatorial edicts. . . .

The above is most of the column;  the last little bit is here.

Planet Earth: Down the Drain?

Ed Brodow isn’t too optimistic, either; his title is “Running the World into the Ground”.  Here are the first few paragraphs at American Thinker:

The actions of the people who are in charge of governments are supposed to benefit the countries they serve -- in theory, at least. In practice, the opposite is true. In the West, our leaders are destroying everything they can get their hands on.

This is certainly an apt description of the Biden/Harris administration. They inherited a healthy country from President Trump. The economy was taking off, inflation was practically nonexistent, the U.S. was energy independent for the first time in decades, and the border was closed. So what did Biden do? He immediately set out to reverse everything Trump achieved.

Who can claim to be better off under Biden? The economy has tanked, inflation is at a 40-year high, people can’t afford to heat their homes or fill up their cars with gas, crime statistics are off the charts, and confidence in America is at an all-time low. Biden’s open-border policy, which is opposed by a majority of American citizens, is leading to social unrest and economic chaos. A country without a functioning border is not a country, yet that is where Biden has taken us.

America is marching toward totalitarianism as Biden empowers the DoJ and FBI to go after his political opponents, i.e., at least half of the population. His worst offense, however, is following the climate dictates of the World Economic Forum. Biden is torpedoing the robust U.S. economy in service of a totally false assumption -- that human beings are able to change the planet’s climate. He is raising taxes so that billions of your dollars can be wasted on ridiculous anti-fossil fuel projects.

Biden has declared war on the energy industry in the name of global warming. He wants us to believe that oil, gas, and coal are killing the planet. What is the result of his climate policy so far? “Harvesting of fuel was cut back drastically,” explained Bill O’Reilly, “and that caused the price of oil worldwide to rise, and that caused the price of gas at the pump to rise, and that lit inflation, as all other goods went up in price as well because they are trucked in to the stores and businesses. That is all on President Biden.”

First, human beings are incapable of controlling the climate, which operates in cycles and always has since the planet was created. Second, our economy is dependent on fossil fuels, and -- contrary to the lies fed by the administration -- fossil fuel alternatives do not exist, and will not exist in the foreseeable future. . . .

Read the rest here.  Mr Brodow ends on the hopeful note that the next two elections in the U.S. will reflect the wishes of the voters.  Fingers crossed.

Update: controlled demolition

At America First Report, Mike Adams is not optimistic:

Worsening inflation (stemming from endless fiat currency money printing) is causing food, energy and housing to become unaffordable for millions of Americans, putting them on a trajectory of homelessness and destitution.

Right now, homeless encampments are expanding in cities like Los Angeles, Atlanta, Philadelphia and Oakland. The situation is bound to get far worse as inflation accelerates and people find themselves jobless due to plummeting economic activity while manufacturers downsize operations.

All across America right now, people are moving out of (unaffordable) apartments and rental homes, and moving into RVs or campers. Many of these people have jobs yet still can’t afford to save enough money for a down payment on a home. As economic conditions deteriorate, many of these people will move from RVs to cars or trucks… and then eventually to tents on the street. There, they are largely forgotten by the very same bureaucrats who promised them jobs and government assistance. Those are also the same bureaucrats who created the very problems that cause homelessness in the first place, such as worsening inflation by handing out stimulus money… or forcing small businesses to shut down over “covid” claims.

The controlled demolition of America is well under way. . . .

Globalist Lies

Tom Stiglich cartoon

At America First Report, J D Rucker identifies what he considers to be the 10 biggest propaganda lies, enthusiastically supported by progressive politicians and the legacy media.  His column is here, and in it, he fleshes out each of these 10 lies.

Lie #10: “LGBTQIA+ Agenda Is About Equality”

Lie #9: “The Border Crisis Is Not a Huge Problem”

Lie #8: “Corporate Media Tells the Truth”

Lie #7: “Federal Law Enforcement Focuses on Enforcing the Law”

Lie #6: “Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Are Good”

Lie #5: “Washington DC Is Trying to Fix the Economy”

Lie #4″ “Green Agenda Is About Climate Change”

Lie #3: “War in Ukraine Was Not Planned by NATO to Launch a Very Dark Scheme”

Lie #2: “Claims the 2020 Election Was Stolen Are Unfounded”

Lie #1: “The Covid Vaccines Are a Little Effective and Mostly Safe”

He also thinks that the list will expand in the future.

There Are No Coincidences

At Freedom First Network, JD Rucker explains the deliberate destruction going on all around us, and he further recommends what we can do about it.  That includes getting into uncomfortable conversations with family and friends, and Mr Rucker starts with:

There are no coincidences.

Mask mandates weren’t lifted in February, 2022, because Democrats were seeing the polls. They were lifted to bring all focus on the upcoming Russian invasion of Ukraine and now we’re seeing weekly gifts of billions of dollars laundered through the corrupt nation.

Knowledge of Covid vaccines being neither safe nor effective was not suppressed because government officials and corporate media are stupid. This knowledge was suppressed because they needed as many men, women, and children to get injected as possible.

Food plants aren’t blowing up randomly at a time when food security was becoming an issue. They were sabotaged intentionally.

Efforts to keep Donald Trump from winning in 2020 weren’t oddly uniform by accident. Suppression of Hunter Biden’s laptop story, the unwarranted impeachment of President Trump, and late night ballot drops in conspicuously close swing states were all part of the Cabal’s election-stealing mechanisms.

Ludicrous economic policies aren’t being rolled out worldwide because capitalism suddenly experienced temporary insanity. These policies were planned well ahead of time to match the moment when economies could be made to collapse.

These are just a few of the coincidences that were anything but.

The plans are in motion. Events are unfolding very quickly. It behooves us all to not only become aware of these plans but to share them with anyone who will listen. . . .

America: out of order

As usual, Victor Davis Hanson nails it.  From American Greatness:

What explains an America that suddenly no longer works?

First, all of these problems are self-induced. They did not exist until Biden [I would assume that when he refers to “Biden,” VDH means “the Biden Administration.”] birthed them for ideological or political reasons. Apparently, his administration wanted a changing, more favorable electorate and demography at any cost.

. . .

Second, Biden has no solutions to these self-created problems because of the ideological restraints the Left has imposed on him.

The administration fears the anger of the hard Left more than the furor of the American people. So it will not change, preferring to be politically correct and a failure than to be ideologically incorrect and successful.

Third, when people object, this administration answers either by blaming others for its self-created mess or by seeking distractions. Now it is faulting gun owners for the crime wave it fostered, supposed “white supremacists” for the racial tensions it fanned, and Putin, whom it appeased.

The common denominator? Biden knows that he inherited a stable, prosperous America and has nearly ruined it.

Read VDH’s full column here.  But where is the good news?  Sundance at Conservative Treehouse sums up some encouraging and significant push-backs:

[A] more assertive, deliberate, strategic and determined MAGA movement is being noticed everywhere.  There are new combat rules in response to the leftist onslaught toward our children.  . . .

Leftist favorite Netflix, is hemorrhaging users and just lost 30% of its value.  Spotify just refused to renew the leftist idols, the Obamas.  The ultra-leftist Disney Corp just lost their special district status in Orlando, and leftist Twitter is on the verge of a hostile ‘free speech’ takeover by Elon Musk.

The Canaries In The Coal Mine

In Issues & Insights, Armando Simón introduces comments by other refugees from numerous Communist regimes who are witnessing with alarm America’s descent into totalitarianism.  He begins:

Refugees from Communist Countries
Are The Canaries In The Coal Mine

. . . People such as myself who have lived in countries controlled by Communist totalitarian regimes are thoroughly acquainted with their characteristics: censorship, divide-and-conquer tactics, fraudulent elections, mutilation of the arts and science, forbidding books, sadistic repressions, absence of comedy, snitching to authorities by friends and family members, constant propaganda, rewriting history books, toppling statues, relentless fanaticism, the rule of law jettisoned, political prisoners, self-censorship, propaganda posing as news, ruining the country’s economy, distorting the meaning of words. We can smell the stench of Communism, the plague of the 20th century, a mile away.

Except we can smell it here. Now.

We are the canaries in the coal mine.

I can give hundreds of instances of the above characteristics being carried out in America, which have been increasing in frequency and intensity. However, most people are unaware of them because the major propaganda outlets (CBS, ABC, NBC, CNN, The New York Times, The Boston Globe, The Washington Post, etc.) ignore them and, on the other hand, conservatives are notorious for only preaching to the choir and stubbornly and stupidly not reaching out to the general public because they are so lazy.

Equally affected by the news blackout of the propaganda outlets are the frantic warnings from immigrants from Communist countries. On several other occasions in various conservative outlets, I have expressed my alarm at what is happening and I could repeat myself here. Instead of writing yet another article sounding the alarm that the barbarians are not at the gates, but inside the gates, I will cite other refugees and dissidents if for no other reason that their voices deserve to be heard by more people, contrary to the efforts of the media hive-mind to suppress them. Some may object to my merely listing their voices and that it is a long list. Well, the point is that it is a long list. So, you should pay attention.

And, remember: If it happened to us, why not to you? And, like you, we did nothing to stop it when it could have been easily stopped in its earlier stages.

Following his opening paragraphs, Mr. Simón quotes refugees from numerous Communist countries on what’s happening today in America.  For the full column, click here. Share!

Are you better off today?

No, Joe, We’re Not Better Off

The Biden administration keeps lying
about how bad things were a year ago.

Douglas Andrews at PatriotPost starts off with a whopper of a statement by White House Chief of Staff Ron Klain:

“Things are a lot better in this country than they were a year ago.”

Let that sentence sink in. That was Joe Biden’s chief of staff, Ron Klain, in what has to be the most surreal string of words ever uttered by a guy whose boss is polling at 38%. . . .

Klain’s straight man was CNN’s increasingly malleable Jake Tapper, a once-proud lefty who too often bows to his network and his audience and just sort of sits there looking like a guy with a fishbone caught in his throat. On this day, though, Tapper pressed his guest about the mess he’d helped create: “So, how do you . . . fix this?” Tapper asked. “Obviously, I cover you guys every day. You do this every day. And you are talking about the economy. You are talking about coronavirus, but there’s obviously some sort of disconnect here.”

And in fairness to Klain, he qualified the remark above by limiting it to COVID and the economy. Still, who thinks his statement rings true even when it’s so narrowly tailored?

Not us, certainly, nor Oliver North or David Goetsch, who today revisited the question posed by Ronald Reagan to Jimmy Carter during their lone debate of the 1980 presidential campaign: “Are you better off today than you were four years ago?”

The full article is here, including video and an extractfrom and link to the Oliver North/David Goetsch opinion piece.

The Destruction is Deliberate

At American Thinker, the pseudonymous columnist Ed Sherdlu makes the case that the destruction of America is the goal of the Biden administration.  And he considers the nomination of Saule Omarova as evidence.  He starts off:

The comptroller of the currency is not another one of those do-nothing Washington jobs.  The person filling this critical role controls all federally licensed banks, credit unions, and foreign banks operating in the United States and similar institutions.  Normally, you would think receiving your postgraduate education at the University of Moscow (in the USSR) and writing your doctoral dissertation on the advantages of Marxism over free economy capitalism might be a disqualifier for this all-powerful position.  But not in the Biden administration.

To Biden and his cronies, the fact that their nominee for comptroller is a lifelong Marxist is not disqualifying.  In fact, to the radical Democrats pulling Biden's strings, Russian-born Saule Omarova's dedication to hardcore communism is one of her strongest qualifications.  Ms. Omarova makes no attempt to hide her radical leftist political and economic feelings other than to try to prevent the Senate committee considering her confirmation from accessing her other "academic" works.

As noted yesterday, some conservatives digging into Omarova's recent past may have found the wooden stake to drive through the heart of her nomination.  In a newly unearthed video clip, this woman who Biden wants to control all our nation's finances told her audience, "In order to prevent climate change, we have to bankrupt all the coal, oil, and gas companies."

Under other circumstances, we might consider this utter foolishness to be little more than the drunken utterance of some Ivy League sophomore.   Unfortunately, in this case, the threat and intent to completely bankrupt American energy producers came directly from the mouth of a person who might be given the power to do just that!

And Mr. Sherdlu concludes:

In looking at Omarova's nomination and everything else this administration has done, from the border to Kabul to the supported terrorists, including Iranians, receiving de facto permission to build their atomic bomb, I believe we are forced into one inescapable conclusion: the Biden/Harris administration's actions are not the result of ineptitude.  They are a carefully thought out, well-planned, and almost flawlessly executed plan to ensure the destruction of the United States as we know her.  It is being viciously implemented by Obama acolytes such as Susan Rice and hundreds of others who are the people really running our country under the Biden administration.

. . . Omarova's nomination leaves little doubt as to their intentions.

The full column is here.  I would like to think that Mr. Sherdlu is wrong, but it's hard to argue with his points.

Sports Illustrated goes “woke”

Eric Utter published a piece about Sports Illustrated over the weekend at American Thinker.  I am not much of a sports fan, but his opening paragraphs offer a good summary of the cultural decline in America.  And his article is a good follow-up to my blog yesterday on the future of arts communities – if there is a future.  Mr. Utter begins:

The Left ruins everything. Television. Movies. Economies. Cities. Lives. Religion. Comedy. Sports. Everything. Literally everything.

It does so in many insidious ways. It divides us with multiculturalism and critical race theory. It makes some groups bitter, envious, and indolent by telling them they are victims of other groups’ bigotry…and that there is nothing any of the groups can do about it. It revises history, changes language, and restricts speech, all in an effort to restrict thought. It brandishes “wokeism” as a weapon and “cancels” those it dislikes. All of this has led to a more ignorant—and less fun—America.

The left has recently rendered sports less a form of entertainment that can bring all of us together and more of a vehicle to lecture and hector fans, in an attempt to hammer them into strict conformity of thought. We have all seen this with anthem protests, BLM messages, boycotts, etc., etc.

And now, even a once nearly-revered sports publication, Sports Illustrated, has completely given in to the mendacious minority mob that demands all things be seen exclusively through the prism of race/class/gender/politics. Sports Illustrated, like nearly all mainstream media, has leaned left for many years but has just recently completely abandoned all balance and objectivity in an apparently desperate—if puzzling—attempt at virtue-signaling.

. . .

Mr. Utter then goes into specifics based on the latest issue.  Read the rest of Mr. Utter’s piece here.

Falling Down and Falling Apart

On his blogsite, Robert Stacy McCain quoted part of Tucker Carlson’s Tuesday monologue yesterday.  Our household deleted Fox from our Favorites list some months ago, but Mr. Carlson made some good points.

The lessons of [the 1993 film] Falling Down were on my mind as I watched Tucker Carlson’s opening monologue for his Tuesday program:

There are a lot of unprecedented things happening, but not all of them are shocking. For example, it probably shouldn’t surprise you that, once they got their hands on real power, the same lunatics who don’t believe in human biology immediately made a serious mess of our economy. It took them less than six months to do it.

First, they acted like the U.S. dollar had no value. They spent money like they’d just printed it for the occasion, which, needless to say, they had. Predictably, we wound up with frightening levels of inflation, which for the record they still deny exists. But inflation does exist, as you well know if you live here.

Corn prices, to name just one example of a staple commodity that’s now out of control, have risen by 50 percent just since January. But that wasn’t bad enough. The lunatics decided to make it worse. They paid millions of Americans more than they make at work, to stay home and do nothing. To justify doing this, they used the word “COVID” quite a bit, but it had nothing to do with the pandemic. They just wanted to break the system. And so they did. And the rest of us immediately wound up with a bewildering combination of rising unemployment in the middle of a severe labor shortage.

So, at the very same time, we found ourselves with too many workers, and also too few workers. That doesn’t even make sense, but thanks to their policies, that’s now exactly what we have. And then, finally, in case 2021 didn’t remind you enough of a grimmer version of the 1970s, we now have serious gas shortages, in a country that just recently was energy independent. All along the east coast of the country today, people couldn’t fill up their cars. The footage looks like Venezuela.

And so forth. The real point — why it reminded me of Falling Down — is that ordinary citizens are powerless to fix this manmade disaster. The people in charge don’t give a damn about ordinary citizens, because if they did, they wouldn’t have done what they’ve done. We find ourselves in a broken system, where the incentives have gone haywire, and the world has stopped making sense.

See – it’s not just you.  (Mr. McCain's full blog post is here.)

Bookworm Room has a question

Bookworm Room (a/k/a Andrea Widburg) summarizes some of the destructive actions taken since the Democrat party took all three branches of power. She starts with these:

Since Biden entered the White House on January 20 the following things have happened (and this list isn’t in any particular order):

Biden’s made a wild ad hominem attack against Putin, who has nuclear power.

Biden’s Defense Secretary threatened Kim Jong-un, who has nuclear power.

Biden’s erased the southern border entirely (never mind that he has no legal authority to do so).

The Democrats as a whole have switched to an economic rule that’s based on the printing press principle: Money is no object because they’ll print it up as they go along.

The Democrats have declared war on women via their proposed Equality Act.

The Democrats have declared war on our constitutional democratic republic via their laughably named For the People Act. [HR-1]

The rest of her list is here.  And her question at the end of her post is this:

I originally thought that the Democrats were just in this for power. I now think that they are in this to completely destroy the United States. . . .  Am I crazy or is that what’s really going on here?

Some of the reader comments at the blog are worth reading, also.

Rush Limbaugh’s message to President Donald Trump

Image via Conservative Treehouse

Via Conservative Treehouse (and have a hanky at hand):

My days on earth are numbered; But before I fade away, there is something important I need to say. It may not be important to anyone else; but it’s important to me. Win, lose or fraud President Trump, I just want to say thank you for the last four years.

Thank you for making it cool to be an American again. Thank you for showing us that we don’t need to be under China’s thumb anymore economically, or any other way. Thank you for one of the strongest economies we’ve ever experienced in my lifetime.

Thank you for all you have done for the minority communities, and the outstanding decrease in the unemployment rate you had. Thank you for making it feel good to love our country and to be a proud patriot again.”

Thank you for supporting our Nation’s flag and the men and women who fought for the freedom that stands behind that flag. Thank you for supporting our nation’s law enforcement organizations, and understanding how difficult their job really is.

Thank you for quelling the flood of illegal immigration, and bringing to justice the thousands of criminals that flood brought us. Thank you for giving corporations a reason to come back to America to make our own products and put Americans back to work.

Thank you for bringing our troops home from endless deployments that presented us with little more than body bags; and for your commitment to strengthen our military.

Thank you for operation warp speed and keeping your promise to bringing the Covid 19 vaccine to us in less than a year. Thank you for your never-ending attempts at bringing peace to the Middle East and your support for Israel.

Thank you for your Tax relief, and thank you for our energy independence. Most of all though…

THANK YOU for taking a damn rotten job that you never had to take!! Thank you for caring enough for this country to want to try and make a difference.

Thank you for showing America how little Career Politicians actually work for their constituents; for showing us how much those politicians despise you for showing America how easy it is to build a great nation, rather than rape her to line their own pockets and stock portfolios.

Thank you for allowing us to experience a President that wasn’t a lifelong politician, but a lifelong American. THANK YOU MR PRESIDENT… YOU DID YOUR BEST…”

Wow.  And thank you, El Rushbo.

COVID-19 panic: the agenda

There’s a political agenda with the never-ending coronavirus hype.  Sundance at Conservative Treehouse reports:

In order to support the most important political objectives of the DNC writ large in the 2020 election, COVID-19 hype is essential:
  • Without COVID-19 panic Democrats cannot easily achieve ‘mail-in’ voting; which they desperately need in key battleground states in order to control the outcome.
  • Without COVID-19 panic Democrats cannot shut down rallies and political campaigning efforts of President Trump; which they desperate need to do in key battleground states.
  • Without COVID-19 panic Democrats cannot block the campaign contrast between an energetic President Trump and a physically tenuous, mentally compromised, challenger.
  • Without COVID-19 panic Democrats do not have an excuse for cancelling the DNC convention in Milwaukee; thereby protecting candidate gibberish from himself.
  • Without COVID-19 panic Democrats do not have a mechanism to keep voters isolated from each-other; limiting communication and national debate adverse to their interests.  COVID-19 panic pushes the national conversation into the digital space where Big Tech controls every element of the conversation.
  • Without COVID-19 panic Democrats cannot keep their Blue state economies easily shut-down and continue to block U.S. economic growth.  All thriving economies are against the political interests of Democrats.
  • Without COVID-19 panic Democrats cannot easily keep club candidate Joe Biden sealed in the basement; where the electorate is not exposed to visible signs of his dementia.
  • Without COVID-19 panic it becomes more difficult for Big Tech to censor voices that would outline the fraud and scheme.  With COVID-19 panic they have a better method and an excuse.
  • Without COVID-19 panic Democrats cannot advance, influence, or organize their preferred presidential debate format, a ‘virtual presidential debate’ series.
  • [Comrade Gretchen Whitmer knows this plan, hence she cancelled the Michigan venue]
  • All of these, and more, strategic outcomes are based on the manufactured weaponization of the COVID-19 virus to achieve a larger political objective.  There is ZERO benefit to anyone other than Democrats for the overwhelming hype surrounding COVID-19.

Face masks and indoctrination

art credit: shutterstock.com

Why is anyone still wearing a face mask?

The title: “Another day, another bogus report from CDC seeking to entice the public to continue wearing masks”. Jack Hellner reports at American Thinker:

The CDC now says they have proof that wearing face-masks reduced COVID 19 cases in NYC by 66,000 from April 17th to May 9th.
. . .
There is no way they would know this, and it is as made up as the modeling numbers that CDC put out in March that showed that hundreds of millions would get the disease and millions would die. That is the study that destroyed the economy and caused governors throughout the country to require us to wear masks, social distance and avoid large groups for the first time in our lives.

If they wanted a legitimate story, they would have looked at cases in states without the face mask requirement to see how many cases they had from April 17th to May 9th. Instead of doing that they just made numbers up and the media, like puppets, repeat the bogus numbers to indoctrinate people into wearing masks.

The full article with more stats is here.  This is all about power and control.

Why shutdowns are useless

Over at Power Line, John Hinderaker links to an interview (not quite an hour long) with Dr. Jay Bhattacharya of Stanford Medical School for Uncommon Knowledge.  Mr. Hinderaker's closing comments, based on the interview:

The conventionally posed choice between fighting the disease and salvaging our economy is entirely wrong. The choice is not disease vs. economy. The disease is here, and there is nothing governments can do to stop it. (They can, of course, close down access to nursing homes, a mixed blessing if you are elderly.) The real choice is between the disease with a flourishing economy, and the disease with a devastated economy. The disease is a constant.

Sen. John Kennedy: open the US economy soon or it will collapse.

Sen. John Kennedy made such good sense on Tucker Carlson last night. Via FoxNews:

Sen. John Kennedy, R-La., told "Tucker Carlson Tonight" Wednesday that deciding when to reopen the economy amid the coronavirus pandemic is like choosing between "cancer and a heart attack."

"The American people are not morons. They understand what I'm about to say," Kennedy said Wednesday. "We've got to open this economy. If we don't, it's gonna collapse. And if the U.S. economy collapses, the world economy collapses. And trying to burn down the village to save it is foolish. That's our cold, hard truth."

Kennedy went on to say that most Americans know the virus is still spreading and understand it will spread faster whenever states and cities loosen their restrictions. As a result, he said, officials will have to be smart about the situation.

"Don't open up in the middle of a hot spot," Kennedy said. "Encourage your elderly and those with preexisting conditions to stay quarantined and provide them financial support. Wear masks, try to socially distance.

"Use technology without violating privacy to try to track the hot spots and track people who have been exposed," Kennedy said. "Test as much as we can. Make sure that we got health care capacity."

Kennedy also reacted to reports that Democratic New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy is eyeing July as the target for an economic opening.

"He's talking about leaving the economy closed until July. Do you really believe the American people are going to stand for that? They're not," Kennedy said. "This economy is going to collapse."

It was important for Sen. Kennedy to point out that when the economy re-opens for business, new cases of the virus will increase. The supposed purpose of the shut-down was to postpone some of the infections so as to not overwhelm the healthcare system. Plenty of debate going on as to whether that was ever a viable strategy, or even whether that purpose is behind all this.  (Sundance has a good analysis of the ideological aspects in his coverage of the New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy's interview on Tucker Carlson hereUPDATE: Here's another at Issues and Insights.)

And if you or someone you know contracts COVID-19 / Wuhan virus, you know to ask your doctor if you are a candidate for a hydroxychloroquine cocktail.  Here's a quick look at the risks of taking hydroxychloroquine.
