Defining "The Great Reset" a/k/a "New World Order"

Imprimis is a publication of Hillsdale College, and contributors adapt their various campus lectures to the print edition.  Last year, Michael Rectenwald, Chief Academic Officer for American Scholars, published “What Is the Great Reset? (Dec 2021)  

The Great Reset a/k/a Agenda 21 a/k/a Agenda 2030 a/k/a New World Order has been the subject of many linked reports on this blog.  The terms still prompt questions and skepticism, so I am linking to the online version of Mr Rectenwald’s essay; here’s the opening:

Is the Great Reset a conspiracy theory imagining a vast left-wing plot to establish a totalitarian one-world government? No. Despite the fact that some people may have spun conspiracy theories based on it—with some reason, as we will see—the Great Reset is real.

Indeed, just last year, Klaus Schwab, founder and executive chairman of the World Economic Forum (WEF)—a famous organization made up of the world’s political, economic, and cultural elites that meets annually in Davos, Switzerland—and Thierry Malleret, co-founder and main author of the Monthly Barometer, published a book called COVID-19: The Great Reset. In the book, they define the Great Reset as a means of addressing the “weaknesses of capitalism” that were purportedly exposed by the COVID pandemic.

But the idea of the Great Reset goes back much further. It can be traced at least as far back as the inception of the WEF, originally founded as the European Management Forum, in 1971. In that same year, Schwab, an engineer and economist by training, published his first book, Modern Enterprise Management in Mechanical Engineering. It was in this book that Schwab first introduced the concept he would later call “stakeholder capitalism,” arguing “that the management of a modern enterprise must serve not only shareholders but all stakeholders to achieve long-term growth and prosperity.” Schwab and the WEF have promoted the idea of stakeholder capitalism ever since. They can take credit for the stakeholder and public-private partnership rhetoric and policies embraced by governments, corporations, non-governmental organizations, and international governance bodies worldwide.

Another way of describing the goal of the Great Reset is “capitalism with Chinese characteristics”—a two-tiered economy, with profitable monopolies and the state on top and socialism for the majority below.

Other developments that advance the Great Reset agenda have included unfettered immigration, travel restrictions for otherwise legal border crossing, the Federal Reserve’s unrestrained printing of money and the subsequent inflation, increased taxation, increased dependence on the state, broken supply chains, the restrictions and job losses due to vaccine mandates, and the prospect of personal carbon allowances. . . .

Mr Rectenwald concludes:

Just as Schwab and the WEF predicted, the COVID crisis has accelerated the Great Reset. Monopolistic corporations have consolidated their grip on the economy from above, while socialism continues to advance for the rest of us below. In partnership with Big Digital, Big Pharma, the mainstream media, national and international health agencies, and compliant populations, hitherto democratic Western states—think especially of Australia, New Zealand, and Austria—are being transformed into totalitarian regimes modeled after China.

But let me end on a note of hope. Because the goals of the Great Reset depend on the obliteration not only of free markets, but of individual liberty and free will, it is, perhaps ironically, unsustainable. Like earlier attempts at totalitarianism, the Great Reset is doomed to ultimate failure. That doesn’t mean, however, that it won’t, again like those earlier attempts, leave a lot of destruction in its wake­—which is all the more reason to oppose it now and with all our might.

Get ready for more riots

 

CNN's "Baghdad Bob" moment

The Kyle Rittenhouse trial is almost concluded.  Perhaps the judge will dismiss the case with prejudice.  Perhaps the jury will be able to withstand doxxing and other pressures to convict.  JD Rucker at NOQ predicts that the jury will acquit.  If the verdict is anything other than a conviction, JD Rucker is sounding the alarm:

This isn't the case of a common narrative being circulated. This is collusion that is so blatant, lawsuits need to be filed.

When Kyle Rittenhouse is acquitted, many cities will likely experience what we saw last year following the release of the George Floyd video. It may even be worse this time if the powers-that-be get their way. But unlike the BLM and Antifa riots that sprung up after the Floyd video, the riots that will come with Rittenhouse’s acquittal have had months of planning and coordination.

At the heart of the conspiracy are mainstream media and Big Tech. They’re doing their part to make sure there’s as much carnage as possible. Let me break it down briefly before getting into more details.

The tag-team efforts of mainstream and social media are crystal clear. We have the CNNs, MSNBCs, and network news outlets all spreading coordinated lies about the trial. They are painting Rittenhouse as a murderer; CBS News literally called him that while the trial was still going which is a blatant obliteration of any remnant of journalistic standards they may have once had. They are attacking the judge. They are attacking the defense team. They’re even attacking the prosecutors to create a scapegoat for why this “murderer” was set free.

Meanwhile, Big Tech is suppressing the truth. Free Beacon reported that social media companies are suppressing claims that Rittenhouse is innocent. While mainstream media spread the lies, Big Tech suppresses the truth. It’s a one-two punch designed to make the people unaware that the trial was a mockery and clearly demonstrated Rittenhouse as acting in self-defense.

One would think that law enforcement will be prepared for the riots that are coming. Some will be. Others will not. We will likely see Democrat-run cities burning while Republican-run cities are able to contain most of the domestic terrorism that is coming. It isn’t just inefficiency or ineptitude in leftist cities. It’s also the greatly depleted police forces that are already allowing criminals to rule in Seattle, Portland, New York City, San Francisco, Minneapolis, and similar cities across the country.

When Rittenhouse is acquitted, those cities will almost certainly be overrun with violence and property destruction. This is by design. It has many benefits for the powers-that-be who want to see America torn down, replaced by an ugly “utopia” under the Neo-Marxist tenets of The Great Reset.

Law enforcement has been warned. Will they act accordingly?

I don’t agree with every assumption in Mr. Rucker report (e.g., I don’t agree that officer Derek Chauvin should have been fired after George Floyd died while in police custody;  body cam transcripts and the medical examiner’s report incl. the toxicology report, demonstrate that Chauvin was following protocols and that Floyd died of a drug-induced heart attack).

However, the main point – that if Mr. Rittenhouse is NOT convicted, there will be blood in the streets -- is why I’m linking to the report.  And downtown Cleveland was on the target list in May 2020.

The Great Reset a/k/a New World Order

 

Just to define terms, David Risselada explains and puts into historical context “The Great Reset” at thelibertyloft. Here’s his opening.

After nineteen months of continuous propaganda concerning the COVID-19 pandemic, most Americans have now heard the term The Great Reset. For some, these words ring a bell as it is apparent to them the entire agenda revolves around installing the dreaded New World Order. For others, the phrase conjures up images of the whacked-out conspiracy theorist who would refer to the latter as a deplorable in a MAGA hat.

In terms of the Draconian measures taken to stop a disease where ninety-eight percent of those infected survive, a move to a global totalitarian system is clearly underway. COVID-19, whether it was a real pandemic or a manufactured crisis, presents the perfect opportunity to implement systematic change, and move other stalled agendas forward. It highlights a nation’s strengths and weaknesses in terms of its abilities to handle a global disaster, and where global governance failed and needs revision.

To brush aside the term The Great Reset as some crazy conspiracy is to ignore the fact that the preceding words are from the man who first brought it into public consciousness, Klaus Schwab. Head of the World Economic Forum, Schwab certainly knows what the global agenda is, and in his own words, tells us that COVID-19 is the perfect crisis that world leaders cannot let go to waste. In this series of articles, I will analyze these words in an attempt to bring an understanding of what the Great Reset is, and what we can expect in the coming years. The one thing I can say for sure is The Great Reset is not a conspiracy. It is out there in the open for anyone who chooses to see it.

Delingpole: features of the New World Order

Breitbart contributor James Delingpole is a favorite of mine.  Although he specializes in coverage of climate hysteria, yesterday at Breitbart, he reported on the draconian measures taking place right now in the formerly free country of Australia. 

As readers of Cleveland Tea Party blog know, I have posted frequently on developments with the COVID virus and the flip-flopping restrictions and mandates issued by Fauci et al at the CDC.  In recent weeks, as I have been following these developments, another word popped into my mind -- and that word is “sinister.”  Mr. Delingpole chose the same word.  I am posting part of his report below, because what is happening in the Antipodes is viewed by a few other analysts, incl. Sundance at Treehouse, as a beta test for the New World Order (also known as The Great Reset, previously billed as Agenda 21). [In 1992, a Senator named Joseph R Biden Jr wrote an article for the Wall Street Journal headlined ‘How I Learned to Love the New World Order’.]  So, is this a conspiracy theory?  Or is it actually coming to a theater near you? 

Here’s part of Mr. Delingpole’s “Creepy Australian Officials Start Using “New World Order” as a Talking Point”:

Two senior medical officers have, shockingly, said out loud what a lot of ordinary people already noticed: Australia is sliding inexorably towards a ‘New World Order.’

New South Wales (NSW) Chief Health Officer Dr Kerry Chant (pictured) used the sinister phrase during a Thursday press conference, in response to a question about reopening after the interminable lockdowns imposed by various Australian states.

Australia has some of the most draconian lockdown policies anywhere in the world right now. Indeed, as this Twitter thread from Maajid Nawaz suggests, the land they once called ‘the Lucky Country’ is now starting to look like a very unlucky totalitarian tyranny.

Among the scary features it has introduced in the last 18 months are:

• Quarantine camps
• CCP style surveillance in the form of “Forced” facial recognition & geolocation scanning sent to the government within 15 mins of a text
• Legally accessing your data & taking control of your online accounts
• Putting quarantine signs on people’s doors as if they were Medieval plague victims
• Denying [healthcare] services & “locking out” the unvaccinated to “protect the health service”
• And, the final insult, deciding how much beer you are allowed to drink in your home prison…

Build Back Better aka the Great Reset

 

   

James Delingpole publishes at Breitbart, frequently on climate change propaganda and British politics.  I don’t consider him an alarmist or an ideologue.  So I am alarmed at his report about The Great Reset.  Here’s the opening:

Build Back Better.
This is the slogan of the New World Order – aka the Great Reset.

You hear it often these days intoned — in the manner of dutiful Stepford Wives — by everyone from UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson and the Prince of Wales to Canadian blackface artiste Justin Trudeau and, inevitably, Joe Biden who has adopted it as his campaign slogan.

About the only leader you won’t hear using it is Donald Trump because he recognises its true significance. Build Back Better is the code phrase for one of the most terrifying and dangerous, globally co-ordinated assaults on liberty and prosperity in the history of mankind. If the plan succeeds, the world you inhabit will be unrecognisable, your children will have no prospects and your life will barely be worth living. Build Back Better means totalitarian rule by a global, technocratic elite – as constrictive and immiserating as life under fascism or communism. This hideous New World Order is the Great Reset.

It sounds like a conspiracy theory but the people behind it are perfectly open about it.

Mr. Delingpole then provides chapter-and-verse on The Great Reset.  His column concludes:

#WhyAreTheyDoingThis has become a popular hashtag on Twitter for the increasing number of people concerned at the extraordinarily draconian and often scientifically inexplicable policies being adopted by governments the world over to deal with Coronavirus.

The Great Reset may be the answer.

And if it is the answer — and so if so many world leaders are on board — then my view is that there is only one man in the world who can save us from it.

That man is Donald Trump.

It’s why, in my view, this presidential election is probably the most important political event anyone alive will live through.

On the outcome depend our liberty, our prosperity, our civilisation.

Another UN Treaty to oppose

U.N. Convention on the Rights of People With Disabilities

It sounds compassionate, it sounds like good-deed doing, but it is another attempt to cede individual choice, and state and federal sovereignty to the UN: read global government. From The Hill late yesterday [emphasis added]:

Sen. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.) is delaying Senate consideration of the United Nations treaty on people with disabilities amid growing opposition from home-schooling advocates.

The Senate Foreign Relations Committee was scheduled to take up the U.N. Convention on the Rights of People With Disabilities on Thursday, with the goal of getting it passed in time for the 22nd anniversary of the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) on July 26. Instead, Chairman John Kerry (D-Mass.) announced that he will hold the markup next Thursday, July 26.

A spokesman for DeMint said several Republicans on the committee joined him in asking for the delay.

"Part of this treaty deals with abortion and the rights of children, issues that should be addressed by states, local governments and American parents, not international bureaucrats," DeMint spokesman Wesley Denton told The Hill in an email. "Sen. DeMint strongly opposes this treaty, as the United States is already the world leader in addressing the needs of the disabled and it’s foolish to think Americans need to sign away our sovereignty to exert our influence around the world." . . .

. . . “The [U.N. treaty] would usurp the rights and powers of parents here in the United States to do what is best for their special-needs child by placing the law of the U.N. above the rights of the parents,” Rick and Karen Santorum said in a statement. “It is the job of our elected representatives to preserve these rights, not hand them off to unaccountable international bureaucrats."

Sen. McCain and Sen. John Barrasso are supporting ratification. Where does Sen. Rob Portman stand? He finally came out in opposition to the Law of The Sea Treaty (LOST). He should come out against this one, too.

Fraud after fraud: the phony-baloney hockey stick graph, manipulation of data, the Climate-gate e-mails, and the dishonest effort to prevent dissenting views from being published in leading peer-reviewed journals. Michael Mann, like Joe Paterno (and to a lesser degree, Jerry Sandusky) was a rock star in the context of Penn State University, bringing in millions in research funding. The same university president who resigned in the wake of the Sandusky scandal was also the president when Mann was being

investigated. We saw what the university administration was willing to do to cover up heinous crimes, and even let them continue, rather than expose them. Should we suppose, in light of what we now know, they would do any less to hide academic and scientific misconduct, with so much at stake?

REALLY BAD EGGS? IT’S WORSE THAN I THOUGHT

FOOD POLICE = FOOD TYRANNY

Last week (May 29), I blogged about Sen. Feinstein’s proposed legislation to impose meddling regulations on the egg industry. You can read Senate Bill 3239 here.

It’s worse than I thought. The American Thinker website has a devastating analysis of the consequences of this legislation, and if this monstrosity gets passed, get ready for more crippling regulations on meat, poultry, milk, and of course sweetened beverages.

From the article by Mindy Patterson [my emphases]:

One day soon, America could wake up to a dozen eggs costing $8 or more. And unless you are involved in some aspect of farming or agriculture, you would never know that egg prices are about to skyrocket or the reason why. . . .

With HSUS’ vegan animal rights platform as the motivations behind crafting a controversial egg bill, S. 3239 was introduced in the U.S. Senate on Friday, May 25, 2012, inching U.S. egg producers closer to a mandate which would require them to phase out conventional cages for egg-laying hens and transition to a system called “enriched colony cages” by 2029, at a cost to U.S. egg producers ranging between $4 billion to $10 billion.

And while most Americans shrug their shoulders and live their lives, they are completely unaware of how this regulation will affect the cost of food and its availability in the future. . . .

Instead of improving productivity for the American egg industry and supporting our farmers and ranchers, these imposed regulations will incrementally squeeze egg producers out of business. Fewer egg farmers means fewer eggs. Fewer eggs mean higher prices for the consumer, and importing more of our food from other countries where neither animal welfare nor food safety is top priority.

While these regulations may seem reasonable on the surface, the agenda behind them lies within the organization pushing these cleverly crafted laws, cloaked in a disguise of emotional propaganda used to advance these proposed regulations into law. HSUS is an organization that makes no bones about its mission to push anti-animal agriculture regulations, or any stiff regulatory reform on American farmers and ranchers. Just consider the goal of HSUS’ lead policy director and vegan activist, J.P. Goodwin, who has gone on record by saying, “My goal is the abolition of all animal agriculture.” . . .

After all, the ultimate goal of HSUS is about empty cages, not bigger cages.

. . . . now is not the time to stand by and allow an anti-egg-consuming animal rights organization to righteously dictate the future of U.S. egg producers and the future of our domestic food supply. Years ago, as an observation of foreign oppression, Henry Kissinger once said, “If you control the food supply, you control the people.” Today, Americans are facing food tyranny on our own shores, which must be stopped. I implore everyone to contact his or her U.S. representative and senator and urge them to vote no on this rotten egg bill, S. 3239, and its identical counterpart in the House, H.R. 3798.

Sustainable Development Funding in Ohio Budget

"Ohio's quest for regional unity"

The Plain Dealer ran an editorial on May Day (May 1) with the innocuous title “Organizing NE Ohio's quest for regional unity: editorial.”

It sounds so mother-and-apple-pie. Who could be opposed to “better coordination” or “reducing the duplication of government services and figuring out how to connect transportation systems with one another”. The editorial reports that The Northeast Ohio Sustainable Communities Consortium expects to issue its first report in June and then convene community meetings to discuss next steps. A “Sustainable Communities Consortium” likewise sounds appealing.

Its goals? “To create a vibrant and resilient Northeast Ohio that increases our quality of life; connects our communities; welcomes diversity; restores and protects our natural resources; and creates a competitive economic framework for the vitality of our region.” Sounds great.

Now compare this language to the buzz words compiled by Marianne G, co-cordinator for Ohio Tea Party Patriots, at her Mansfield Tea Party website (buzz words such as “sustainability”, “sustainable development,” “smart growth”, “ regionalism”, etc.). Marianne posted an Introduction to Agenda 21, a phrase you may or may not have heard about.

But the Plain Dealer, the Consortium, and an outfit called Greater Ohio are already pushing Agenda 21 under alternative nomenclatures – i.e., those buzz words. In addition to every other pressure we face in this election year, Agenda 21 should be at the top of our list. If we don’t defeat Agenda 21 at the local and state levels, the rest may not matter much. And the first step is for us to understand what Agenda 21 is, and what it looks like when dressed up in (or disguised as!) feel-good “sustainability” language.

Marianne has inaugurated a newsletter to start to educate patriots about Agenda 21, especially as it comes to a neighborhood near you. There have already been hearings or meetings in northeast Ohio, and there are many more on the calendar. Here’s one list of meetings listed on the Consortium’s website
