Can you hear us now?

For years patriots and liberty groups have been raising their voices to be heard by the political class: the recurring mantra since the 2009 rally in DC has been "Can you hear us now?" Nobody in DC has been listening.

Say what you like about Donald Trump, he is getting the attention of the political elite and the mainstream media, and he has put legal vs illegal immigration on the front burner. He is getting heard.

After consulting with Sen. Jeff Sessions (see Breitbart here), he announced his immigration policy on his website hereTea Party Patriots are big on core values. Here are Trump's core values about immigration:

Real immigration reform puts the needs of working people first – not wealthy globetrotting donors. We are the only country in the world whose immigration system puts the needs of other nations ahead of our own. That must change. Here are the three core principles of real immigration reform:
1. A nation without borders is not a nation. There must be a wall across the southern border.
2. A nation without laws is not a nation. Laws passed in accordance with our Constitutional system of government must be enforced.
3. A nation that does not serve its own citizens is not a nation. Any immigration plan must improve jobs, wages and security for all Americans.
Read the rest here. It will be interesting to see if other candidates start to address the issue.

Immigration rally in Painesville

Art credit: godfatherpolitics.com
 From the News-Herald:
Immigration issue draws rally to Painesville Square
By Betsy Scott, The News-Herald
POSTED: 08/08/15, 6:09 PM EDT | UPDATED: 1 HR AGO

. . .
The event was held by the Grassroots Rally Team of Ohio to help send the message “Americans first.”
The rally was organized on the heels of the fatal shooting of a Concord Township woman in her home and injury to a woman walking with her children on Lake Metroparks’ Greenway Corridor.
The suspect is Juan Emmanuel Razo, 35, of Painesville, who is believed to be a Mexican citizen in the country illegally. A local immigration advocacy group has said that Razo has been trying to get his green card for more than a decade.
The Grassroots Rally Team of Ohio was begun in Lake County in 2007 and has held similar events elsewhere, said coordinator Arzella Melnyk of Kirtland.
“There has been a lot of information in the news lately about sanctuary cities; there have been tragedies that have happened to families and we just thought it was time to get together again,” she said, “just to let our elected officials know that we’re not happy with what’s going on, and we expect them to do what they’ve been elected to do, and that is to actually protect U.S. citizens, and that’s why we need our borders secured and immigration laws enforced.”
Speaker Ralph King, state coordinator for the Tea Party Patriots urged attendees to go to their local government officials and seek passage of resolutions in support of enforcing immigration laws.
“If you keep fighting it at the top, we’re not going to win,” he said.
. . .
Robert Najmulski, a Federation for American Immigration Reform field representative who spoke at the event, envisions more people getting involved.
“If things keep going the way they’re going, there’s going to be people sitting here all the way to the end of the park and all the way down the street,” he said. “That day is coming, they will follow you, but unfortunately it’s going to take things getting a lot worse.”
He noted that he is not anti-immigration nor anti-immigrant.
“Enough is enough,” he said. “The political correctness about the whole thing, all of the heart-wrenching stories ... It’s got to get down to one thing. Just like I deal with my kids, (whom) I love … in my home, this is daddy’s laws, daddy’s rules; and in this country, we have rules, we have laws, and you will follow them or you will leave.”

Americans First Rally Tomorrow

 Americans First Rally
Saturday August 8, 2015
11:00 AM - 12:30 PM

Just like President Obama at the federal level, under Governor Kasich's reign in office at the state level -- the concerns and well-being of illegal immigrants in Ohio have continually trumped the concerns and well-being of citizens of our great state.

It is time to take a stand for law-abiding
American citizens over illegal aliens!

From increasing state funding for the Ohio Commission for Hispanic/Latino Affairs (OCHLA) a state sponsored committee supporting amnesty for illegal immigrants, to allowing them to pay in-state college tuition and receive Drivers Licenses -- Ohio citizens have been pushed to the back of the bus by Governor Kasich.

It is time that the safety and well-being of US citizens is put before law-breaking illegal immigrants!

Ohio Rep. Bill Patmon in the news

A few days ago, Ohio Rep. Bill Patmon (representing the 10th district in Cuyahoga County in the Columbus statehouse) made a speech that is getting picked up at Red State, Lucianne, and other blogsites. Breitbart reported:
Ohio State Representative Bill Patmon (D) declared Black Lives Matter protesters “skipped one place, they should be in front of Planned Parenthood” at a rally at the Ohio Statehouse on Tuesday.
In the speech, video of which was first posted to Dix News’ and the Youngstown Vindicator‘s Statehouse Bureau Chief Marc Kovac’s Capital Blog, Patmon states that his mother would have been a “prime candidate” for an abortion, but chose not to have one.
He later said, “‘What business is it of yours, Mr. Patmon that 56 million unborn –?’ It is my business, especially 17 million of them are black women. 17 million, more than any other population. 17 million…that look, and act, and talk, and would be similar to myself. But, even more than that, they’re Americans, and they’re human beings.”
After saying he doesn’t like the term “African-American” because he’s just an American and there’s “no need for any extras,” Patmon stated that 5,499 abortions that take place in Cuyahoga County, which he represents, and “63% are black women.”
According to CNS News:
In 2014 alone, Planned Parenthood, America’s largest abortion provider, received $528.4 million in taxpayer funding, according to its 2014 annual financial report.

Whether you are Pro-Life or Pro-Choice, the taxpayer should not be subsidizing Planned Parenthood. Lest you think the GOP in DC is on the case, the current legislation being crafted is, according to a blog on American Thinker, merely symbolic, and its sponsors already missed their opportunity to vote on an amendment with teeth in it.
