A test

I am testing this blog because I have tried four times to load up a blog post contrasting CPAC with the America First PAC (AFPAC).  Each time, the blog post has been theoretically accepted but has not shown up on the blog itself, so I am posting this to test the upload mechanism.

Sorry for the aggravation.

RINOs

In her American Thinker essay “RINOs: The Scourge of the Republican Party,” Patricia McCarthy speaks for many:

How clueless are the swamp RINOs?  Very, very clueless.  So confident that they can dismiss President Trump like last week's news, a select few of them are hilariously destroying their own brands — as if the 75M+ people who voted for Trump are just going to forget Trump, the best president they've had in decades, and go their establishment way.  This scenario could be a sitcom; that is how comical people like Liz Cheney, Mitch McConnell, Nikki Haley, Adam Kinzinger, Mitt Romney, Susan Collins, Lisa Murkowski, Pat Toomey, and Mike Pence are at this sad moment in time.  They all thought, perhaps still think, that by denigrating President Trump, they will win over those 75M people.  They thought that by blaming him for what happened at the Capitol on January 6, they would be rid of the man who so threatened their cushy, establishment lives.

How can these lifelong pols be so deluded?  Because they live in a bubble of their own making.  They presume without thinking that they are smarter than "we the people."  Proceeding from that fixed belief, they have no doubt that they can mesmerize us to forget Trump and all the good he did, the promises he kept, the economy he built, the jobs he created, the energy independence he made possible, the control of the southern border he commenced, the wars he did not start, the rebuilding of the military after Obama, the sex-trafficking he interdicted, and much more.  The man was and is the best kind of warrior for America.

No wonder the left has hated and feared him with the "white hot intensity of a thousand suns" (h/t Cheers).  Donald Trump was and is their worst nightmare; he actually does care about "we the people."  That, for the leftists, is a deal-breaker; the "people" are nothing more than units of labor to the left.  They should not have a voice or a vote.  For all their touting of their concern for "the people," they have exactly none.

. . .

We are experiencing tyranny by executive order, and most of the Republicans are sitting still for it when they should, as a group, be on the steps of the Capitol every day warning the American people about what is happening.

The COVID-19 denouement

Jeffrey A. Tucker at American Institute for Economic Research has some predictions about the COVID-19 denouement:

There is a sense in the air that the pandemic is winding down, and the toxic culture of division, fear, and hatred along with it. Cases are down dramatically. Deaths too. Hospitalizations are no longer irregular. Restrictions are being repealed. You can follow all the action daily at the CDC’s new and unusually competent landing page on the virus (it only took them a year to build this).

Despite all the talk of a new normal and infinite mandates, there is hope that it could all unwind quickly, pushed by force of public impatience and frustration with restrictions, and a political scramble to avoid responsibility by running away from all that they did for the last year.

The list of signs and symbols could be made very long.

  • ·         The politicians who overreached are suddenly being held accountable, with both Andrew Cuomo and Gavin Newsom on the hotseat. Calls for governors and mayors to resign consume state and local news. There is clearly major political tumult building.
  • ·         The Great Barrington Declaration scientists can hardly keep up with the requests for respectful interviews, now that it is becoming clear that they were right all along.
  • ·         The experience in open states like FloridaGeorgiaSouth Dakota, and so on, makes it impossible to ignore the grim truth that the lockdowns achieved nothing for public health but did harm health, businesses, liberties, law, and civilized life.
  • ·         The push to open economies, by the same people who locked down the economies, such as Boris Johnson in the UK, is an implicit repudiation of the nonsensical ZeroCovid movement. Everyone seems now to agree with what AIER has been saying for a year: humanity must deal intelligently with pathogens and stop pretending that political forces can control them.
  • ·         AIER visiting senior fellow Naomi Wolf had a hit just last evening on the Tucker Carlson show, and they spoke as allies in the reopening efforts after years of ideological sparring.
  • ·         There is growing weariness of Anthony Fauci’s daily word salads that have massively mixed up the public health messaging for a full year, to the point that Meghan McCain has called for his firing.
  • ·         A year ago, Slate was making sense until the virus became political and they joined the lockdown mob. Now the publication is back to making sense again, with this excellent piece
  • ·         British medical journal The Lancet is publishing excellent short pieces on the cost of lockdowns, including this riveting letter from Martin Kulldorff.
  • ·         A prestigious European journal of public health has published a blistering attack on the very idea that a power government should ever be trusted with virus mitigation.

The people who have committed their careers and lives to this pandemic and the policies surrounding it might soon need to find a new raison d’etre. Then the clean up begins – how did this happen, who did it, how to make sure it never happens again – and does not end perhaps for decades.

Face Masks and Civil Disobedience in Burbank

Time to tear a page from a Burbank restaurateur. Carl Durrek at NOQ Report has the inspiring development:

Civil disobedience has been a staple of American culture since before the nation broke free from England. It is a necessary component of our freedom as government tends to lean towards authoritarianism whenever it sees a clear path. Covid-19 has opened up such a path for many authoritarians across the nation with California leading the way towards a dystopian near-future.

The city council of Burbank, California, has been in a mini-war with businesses from the beginning of the pandemic. One business in particular, Tinhorn Flats Bar and Grill, has chosen to fight back. Following yesterday’s unanimous vote by the city council to shutter the oldest bar in the city, the response from the local business was short and sweet:

As promised, the bar opened for business as planned. An hour after opening, there had been no word from the city or visits by law enforcement. So far it appears the civil disobedience is happening unimpeded. But that likely won’t last long as the strongarm of the law will soon step in. Very similarly to the infamous Hank Rearden speech in Atlas Shrugged, owner Baret Lepejian believes if government wants to stop them from doing business, they’ll have to do so with more than just an order.

“The pathetic-losers on the Burbank City Council had obviously made up their minds way before the ‘meeting'” ever started,” the bar posted on Facebook. “This was nothing short of a vicious mob with pitchforks coming for that who stands against their campaign of fear. I WILL NOT COMPLY AND I WILL NOT CLOSE MY BUSINESS TO THESE PATHETIC, UNAMERICAN SOCIALIST COWARDS. If need be, I will go down with my ship..”

This isn’t the first attempt by the city to shut them down. Last month, they revoked the restaurant’s public health permit in hopes of bullying the establishment into shutting its doors. But as noted by attorneys for the bar, they have never had a health violation. This latest move to revoke their business license has brought the city and bar national attention. Burbank City Attorney Amy Albano said that if the restaurant’s owners do not comply a lawsuit will be filed and a court order will be sought to close the business.

We wholeheartedly stand with Tinhorn Flats Bar and Grill as they fight to keep their rights to operate safely and within reasonable guidelines that follow medical science. Their story is America’s story. Their fight is our fight.

Which is why I posted this.  We’ve let the owners of our favorite neighborhood bistro know that if they want patrons who will refuse to wear a mask or to practice social distancing, we’ll be there. In the meantime, I continue to wear my [useless] mask like a beard across my chin.

President Trump will deliver the keynote address at CPAC

From the CPAC website (mark your calendar):

Sunday, Feb 28: President Donald Trump will speak at 3:40 pm

Sundance at Conservative Treehouse is no fan of CPAC.  He has many reasons, but every Tea Party member will remember this:

I do not forget when we gave Republicans control of the House of Representatives; and when Paul Ryan took over as speaker; and Ryan passed another three trillion omnibus spending bill with full support of Democrats…. and then showed up to a standing ovation at the “conservative conference.”  WHAT the HELL was being conserved?

The time is now for CPAC to reform…. OR the time has come for CPAC to be abandoned in favor of a national convention that supports the 75 million+ Donald Trump voters.  CPAC is not that convention… not even close.

Nevertheless, President Trump’s CPAC keynote speech will attract a huge audience.  Expect RSBN to live stream;  links to follow.

State censorship in America

More state censorship is on the way.  Brandon Morse at Red State reports:

House Democrats Are Going After Cable Providers and
Streaming Services for Hosting Channels Like Fox News and OANN

When going after advertisers wasn’t enough to sink channels that hold conservative opinions, Democrats began shifting their attention to other methods of fascistically silencing their ideological opposition.

According to The Hill, Democrats are now going after streaming services and cable providers for playing host to what they call “misinformation” and for breeding “radicalized individuals.” The companies they’re going after include Comcast and Verizon, as well as streaming companies like Hulu and Roku to question their “ethical principles” . . .

Mr. Morse’s report concludes:

This isn’t about misinformation. This is about narrative control. This is fascism trying to do what fascism always does; silence the opposition and reign supreme in both state and media.

Media losing power?

Glenn Reynolds, a/k/a Mr. Instapundit, makes a good case:

Media’s censorious gatekeepers are mad —
because they’re losing power

With Donald Trump out of office and de-platformed, you’d think mainstream media gatekeepers would be happy. You’d think wrong.

Though the media-Big Tech regime is doing its best to silence opponents and seize control of the high ground, the news from within is grim. They aren’t happy with how things are going.

That’s because they know they’re losing. Some are losing audiences and revenues. But more important, they’re losing control of the narrative.

And since control of the narrative, and the power and self-importance that accompany that control, is the most important thing in their lives, they can’t be happy.

Consider the cri de coeur of Washington Post public editor Hamilton Nolan, inspired by Tesla’s decision to scrap its media-relations department. How could that happen?

Nolan knows how, and that’s what bothers him: Tesla scrapped its media-relations department because the media don’t much matter to it. Tesla has plenty of ways to get its story out without relying on the media, and that makes the media much less important — and much less powerful. And it’s the power part that hurts the most.

. . .

I hope it’s true.  Read the rest here.

Tributes to Rush Limbaugh

William A. Jacobson at Legal Insurrection has the announcement:

Rush Limbaugh has passed away

Irreplaceable

Just announced by his wife on his show. I suspected something was up when he repeatedly cancelled out of shows recently.

It’s an understatement to say that we have lost a giant. He was so much more. He was a cheerleader and clairvoyant. In the face of mainstream media lies and collusion, he was a voice of fresh air that kept our spirits up. He was the target of cancel culture before we even knew the term.

Full article with photos here.  Sundance has more wonderful photos and tributes here,

The "Forever Pandemic": A Story of Moving Goal Posts

In an article “Normalizing the Forever Pandemic,” Jennifer Oliver O’Connell at Red State sums it up:

We have gone from 15 days to slow the spread to 333 days with COVID still active, along with new strains. We went from only those most vulnerable should wear masks in March, to we’re masking up until 2022 to “save lives.” Candidate Biden blamed Trump for COVID deaths and poor response to the pandemic, and said he would work to create a plan to end the pandemic. Apparently, plans to end the pandemic have been put on pause, if not given up altogether. What we have is forever pandemic language, with its symbol being normalizing Mask wearing—and maybe wearing several.

It seems it doesn’t get better.

Biden said in that same Thursday conference that the “end goal” is “beating COVID-19.”

But with each new press conference, he keeps moving the goal posts, and the American people have noticed.

. . .

Part of making something “normal” is to make it ubiquitous and also trendy. Everyone you see, from your waitress, to your news anchors, to your favorite television characters are wearing their masks. We now have masks in fashionable colors and designs to match your outfits, emblazoned with logos and representative statements — or better yet, you can market your work or product instantly!

. . .

The “forever pandemic” message only takes hold if we accept it as normal.

If we insist on a society of zero risk forever, people will never see their elderly parents again. The forever pandemic and the zero-risk society bear heavy costs.

Read the rest here.  (It's not just the Biden administration. The CDC, Drs. Fauci and Birx et al were moving the goals posts in month 1 of the "forever pandemic.")

Parler: FAIL

So we all thought that Parler would be a viable alternative to Twitter.  Alas, Shane Trejo at Big League Politics reports:

The alternative social media provider Parler is back online after inexplicably relying on Amazon to provide their initial web hosting, but apparently the operatives behind the platform have not learned their lesson for the relaunch.

Parler’s new hosting provider, SkySilk, has a blanket ban on all “hateful material” without specifying what that term exactly means.

“We specifically reserve the right to refuse to provide the Service to customers or End Users engaged in dissemination of material that may cause us to be subject to attacks on our network, or that while technically legal, run counter to our corporate principles,” SkySilk wrote in their terms of service.

So Parler, while advertising itself to be a free speech platform, will really be operating off and dependent on the “corporate principles” of a far-left tech company.

The full report is here.  The online definition of Parler at not-so-reliable Wikipedia is here and it's not pretty.

We Should Celebrate Individual POTUS Birthdays

“We Should Celebrate Individual POTUS Birthdays.” Jeff Dunetz at The Lid has a point:

Monday, February 15, has been designated as Presidents’ Day, another fake holiday seemingly meant to tear down American heroes and replace them with a meaningless day off work (for some). But I urge you, America, to reject this sham holiday.

In New York, where I grew up, we celebrated the birthdays of two of our greatest presidents in February, Abraham Lincoln on the 12th and George Washington on the 22nd. Lincoln’s birthday was never a federal holiday (southern states still weren’t happy about losing the Civil War). In 1968 congress passed the Uniform Monday Holiday Act, which moved Washington’s big day to the third Monday in February and changed it to Presidents’ Day. A celebration of all presidents.

It’s right to celebrate the presidents individually, sure, but not all 46 of them on the same day. I mean, it isn’t celebrating any of them if you are celebrating all of them.

Update on the Uniparty

Pam Key at Breitbart reports:

Senator Bill Cassidy (R-LA), who voted to convict former President Donald Trump at the conclusion of his second impeachment trial, dismissed the long-term implications of opposing Trump by telling ABC’s “This Week” on Sunday that the Republican Party was “more than just one person.”

And Sundance at Conservative Treehouse expands on the report:

After republican Senator Bill Cassidy voted to impeach President Trump, the Louisiana leadership voted to censure the self-serving DeceptiCon.  Today Bill Cassidy appears on This Week to explain his vote.  In essence Cassidy voted to support the UniParty agenda because he feels the era of Trump is over…. the cocktail class republicans are looking forward to getting back to the corrupt system of Wall Street financed graft.

“I think [Trump’s] force wanes. The Republican Party is more than just one person.”

The GOPe fails miserably not only because they are just one wing of a UniParty bird, but also because at their core they operate in an isolated elitist echo-chamber.  The Democrats play lip-service to their base; however, the Republicans have never attempted to hide their disdain for middle America values and the working class conservatives.

The Lie That Was COVID

Robert Zimmerman blogs at BehindTheBlack.  Yesterday, he posted “The Lie That Was COVID” (h/t Instapundit), and he highlights the government's perpetually moving goal posts. Since there was a “share” option and it's short, I am posting the entire thing:

The lie that was COVID

This humor story at the Babylon Bee on February 8th is sadly 100% accurate and illustrates the utter lie that is at the foundation of everything we have been told about COVID-19:

Nation Prepares To Celebrate 1st Anniversary Of Two Weeks To Flatten The Curve

“This time of year we like to come together to remember the historic day one year ago when we put on masks and locked ourselves down, trusting that the lockdown would be over in just two weeks,” said local man Paul Christof as he stared out his window longingly, his three masks securely in place. “This year, I’m going all out with a Zoom party with no more than five of my closest friends — I mean, closest, figuratively speaking, of course. We’ll be literally far apart, because I want to stay home and stay safe, and I don’t want grandma to die.”

From day one, nothing we have been told by government health officials has been reliable or trustworthy. First we were only to lock-down for two weeks in order to slow the spread of the virus slightly so that hospitals would not be overwhelmed. We were also told that we shouldn’t wear masks, because a century of research clearly showed them useless and possibly counter-productive if used improperly, and proper use was unlikely if used all the time.

Then we were told we needed to lockdown for months, because we wanted to stop the spread, a goal that was utterly impossible to meet. At that same time, suddenly health officials decided that the previous half century of research about masks was all wrong, and that we must wear them all the time.

These new rules were only going to be necessary until a vaccine was available.

Now, a year later, a vaccine is suddenly not enough to allow us to be free humans again. We must wear masks, with two masks being even better, and normal activities such as attending parties, sports events, shows, and concerts must still be forbidden.

Along the way, a lot of evidence raised legitimate questions about the way coronavirus deaths and cases were tracked, with much of it suggesting the numbers were being manipulated for political purposes.

The result today is that a very very large percentage of the population no longer trusts anything said by these health officials. And for good reason. They have lied, repeatedly, and liars should never be trusted, ever.

Not that it makes much different. These liars are firmly ensconced in power, and can say and do anything, including fines and punishments for not obeying their commands.

America is no longer a nation dedicated to “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.” It is now a place of lies, edicts, petty dictators, blacklists, and increasing oppression. All largely prompted by an irrational over-reaction to a virus that is really nothing more than a variation of the flu.

Our household is split; one will get the vaccine, the other won’t.  And Mr. Zimmerman’s blog is here.

Economic patriotism = pushback

Florida postcard via Sundance

Conservative Treehouse's Sundance has another important posting, “Citing a Need for COVID Compliance JoeBama Administration Weighs U.S. Travel Restrictions on Florida” – i.e., just another excuse for shredding our constitutional rights.  He begins

The vast majority of the Florida economy is essentially open and not impacted by the COVID-19 virus and state mitigation efforts.  Factually visitors to Florida are stunned at the seemingly little impact the COVID scamdemic is having on the state.  Everyone is going about their business as normal enjoying freedom, and there is no undue chaos or concern.

The common sense within Florida, the lack of actual economic damage and the absence of panic amid the citizenry, is adverse to the interests of those who have weaponized the fear of COVID to attain power and control over compliant citizens.  Governor Ron DeSantis is considered a rebellious troublemaker who must be dealt with by JoeBama’s Federal agencies and authorities.

But Sundance gets down to what we Americans can do to push back against not only the scamdemic but also against the fraudulent election coup that aims to take away our remaining freedoms:

Do not feed the system that is designed to destroy you.  Move your money away from big massive banking institutions and put it into local banks and credit unions.  Spend your income in smaller businesses on Main Street.  Do not shop at multinational corporations.

We are going to have to get out of convenience mode, or we will ultimately destroy ourselves. Do not use Amazon or related convenience systems for purchases.  Do as much local purchasing as possible.  Buy made in America products; it is an investment in our own economy.   Economic patriotism is how we defeat globalist economic expansion.

Defeating the “Great Reset” is a choice each individual has to make.

Read the full posting here.  Some of the comments are also worth scrolling through.

Orwellian developments: Big Government tentacles

image credit: New York Daily News

Sundance at Conservative Treehouse has more bad news, this time on emerging restrictions and regulations on domestic air travel – and more . . .

Transportation secretary Pete Buttigieg (aka Alfred E Newman), made a rather stunning statement during an Axios interview today.

When discussing domestic travel and transportation as it related to COVID-19, the transportation secretary said: “there is an active conversation within the CDC now” about requiring COVID tests prior to air travel inside the United States.

This ridiculous position was unfortunately one of the issues CTH predicted might happen.

COVID is not a virus inasmuch as it is an opportunity to achieve social-change goals advocated by the far-left.  Remember, one key element within the Green New Deal was to ban airplanes altogether.

The kindergarten class of tree-shouting, algae-cake-eating, everything must be sustainable and stupid, i.e., leftist moonbats, are the ones offering actual policy suggestions.

Much more scary stuff at the link here.

Election hack

Bookworm Room (a/k/a Andrea Widburg) has a posting on what computer experts did or did not know about the hacking of the 2020 election.  The article is here.  Reader Pat posted this comment:

Perhaps there was manipulation of vote totals by hackers and there were observed odd changes to vote totals being displayed by networks on election eve. I recall Bookworm Room blogged on this. However, I think most of the manipulation was done using fake mail-in ballots in the early hours of November 4th. We have the sworn affidavit of a USPS contractor who shipped as many as 288,000 completed ballots from New York to Pennsylvania. The FBI interviewed the contractor but treated him as the suspect. We have video of poll workers in Georgia pulling boxes of ballots out of hiding and counting them, sometimes multiple times, without any observers present. GWP obtained video of two van loads of ballot boxes being unloaded at the TCF center in Detroit. We have witnesses who saw piles of mail-in ballots that showed no signs that they were folded and, in some cases, with a vote for Biden and no one else. Another witness saw piles in exact serial number order, a statistical impossibility. In the battleground states, counting was paused late on election night, when Trump was leading, and then we saw dumps of hundreds of thousands of votes that overwhelmingly favored Biden. If these were genuine mail-in ballots, the distribution should have matched the earlier patterns - a Trump lead. Seems to me that the counting pauses were required so the Dems could figure out how many ballots they needed to give Biden a plausible win.

Audits should focus on the ballots themselves, assuming they haven't been illegally shredded.

It is appalling that all this is still not resolved.

My Pillow guy Mike Lindell: Absolute Proof

Mike Lindell has put together a documentary about the massive election fraud in the 2020 election.  Title:  Absolute Proof.  He’s produced it on his own dime and paid for airtime on One America News (OAN) over this weekend.  You can access the broadcast schedule here.  (Note: OAN runs a complete disclaimer prior to the program;  Dominion has been suing anyone pushing these, ahem, "conspiracy theories" of voter fraud, and OAN is obviously protecting itself from legal attacks.  YouTube has already taken down the documentary.  But OAN is running it multiple times this weekend.)  Or you can click here for The Right Scoop blog report with some video.

I found the documentary a bit slow-going, and if you’ve been following the endless videos, sworn testimonies, anomalies, etc., you will already know much of the evidence of fraud.  But if you have not followed it, it is a good resource.

Our household doesn’t need more sheets and pillows, but we bought some anyway from My Pillow.  Thank you, Mike Lindell!

Rush Limbaugh’s message to President Donald Trump

Image via Conservative Treehouse

Via Conservative Treehouse (and have a hanky at hand):

My days on earth are numbered; But before I fade away, there is something important I need to say. It may not be important to anyone else; but it’s important to me. Win, lose or fraud President Trump, I just want to say thank you for the last four years.

Thank you for making it cool to be an American again. Thank you for showing us that we don’t need to be under China’s thumb anymore economically, or any other way. Thank you for one of the strongest economies we’ve ever experienced in my lifetime.

Thank you for all you have done for the minority communities, and the outstanding decrease in the unemployment rate you had. Thank you for making it feel good to love our country and to be a proud patriot again.”

Thank you for supporting our Nation’s flag and the men and women who fought for the freedom that stands behind that flag. Thank you for supporting our nation’s law enforcement organizations, and understanding how difficult their job really is.

Thank you for quelling the flood of illegal immigration, and bringing to justice the thousands of criminals that flood brought us. Thank you for giving corporations a reason to come back to America to make our own products and put Americans back to work.

Thank you for bringing our troops home from endless deployments that presented us with little more than body bags; and for your commitment to strengthen our military.

Thank you for operation warp speed and keeping your promise to bringing the Covid 19 vaccine to us in less than a year. Thank you for your never-ending attempts at bringing peace to the Middle East and your support for Israel.

Thank you for your Tax relief, and thank you for our energy independence. Most of all though…

THANK YOU for taking a damn rotten job that you never had to take!! Thank you for caring enough for this country to want to try and make a difference.

Thank you for showing America how little Career Politicians actually work for their constituents; for showing us how much those politicians despise you for showing America how easy it is to build a great nation, rather than rape her to line their own pockets and stock portfolios.

Thank you for allowing us to experience a President that wasn’t a lifelong politician, but a lifelong American. THANK YOU MR PRESIDENT… YOU DID YOUR BEST…”

Wow.  And thank you, El Rushbo.

Super Bowl Sunday: to watch or not to watch

P.F. Whalen at GenZConservative has some thoughts about Super Bowl Sunday.  He concludes:

This Sunday, there will undoubtedly be millions of fans who tune-in to watch the Super Bowl. They will check the printouts of their office pools every time a team scores, hoping that the current score will pay off with a nice chunk of change and bragging rights. They’ll pay closer attention than normal during breaks in the broadcast for fear of missing a clever Budweiser or Doritos commercial. And at halftime, some will enjoy the show more than the game while others take a moment to socialize.

But there will be less of such folks; much less. Ratings for the NFL have been plummeting since 2017, including Super Bowls. The Thursday Night game during week four of this past season saw ratings drop a whopping 70% compared to last year, and ratings for both the divisional and wildcard rounds of playoffs were down double-digits for every game. Compare those numbers to 2017, and the drops are even more significant.

Less Americans are tuning in to the NFL, and that trend is sure to continue. And you should consider being one of those viewers who change the channel this year. The NFL doesn’t care about you, and they don’t care about our nation. They’ve got an agenda that aligns with the most radical leftists in our country, and that is their top priority. There are plenty of other shows to watch or things to do this Sunday that won’t result in you rewarding leftist radicals with your loyalty and financial support. It might seem impossible to imagine watching anything but the Super Bowl, but it’s not that difficult; and it’s the right thing to do.

Mr. Whalen’s full article is here.  At our house, we’ll be grilling gala burgers, with or without football.

Dwindling conservative TV news

Most of us thought that NewsMax and One America News (OAN) were viable alternatives to the mainstream media, including, sadly, Fox.  Now NewsMax has gone to the dark side.  The clip of My Pillow guy Mike Lindell attempting to discuss Dominion voter fraud prompted the host, Bob Sellers, to walk off the set;  you can watch the video on OAN here.

Even One America News can present conflicting reports.  Yesterday, Dan Ball on Real America reported that DC Officer Brian Sicknick’s death was caused by having been struck in the head during the DC riot on January 6 by someone wielding a fire extinguisher.  But we also read that the officer in fact died of some other cause, perhaps related to interaction with a chemical irritant;  see John Nolte’s report at Breitbart here. Kara McKinney reported on TIpping Point that the Officer's cause of death was uncertain.

It is getting more and more difficult to distinguish between media lies and reliable reporting on television or cable news.  Now NewsMax is crossed off of our list.  Our household relies more and more on online sources and aggregators.

A Tsunami of Hate

David Horowitz is always worth reading or listening to.  Yesterday, he had a piece at FrontpageMag addressing the wide political divide in America.  Here’s part of what he has to say:

The problem is not that we disagree. We are not suffering as a nation from healthy disagreement. We are suffering from a Tsunami of Hate emanating from the Democrat Party that seeks to demonize, criminalize and extinguish dissent from the 75 million supporters of Donald Trump. It is now official Washington dogma that to question an election result – something the congressional Democrats have done in the face of every Republican presidential victory since 2000 - is now “insurrection” and “domestic terrorism,” or the incitement thereto, and needs to be prosecuted and suppressed.

You can’t have a democracy if this is the attitude of a party that controls all three branches of government, is enabled by a corrupt and compliant media, and is determined not just to defeat, but to humiliate, destroy and expunge from the record an ex-president who is supported by a greater segment of the American electorate than any American leader before him.

There is Democrat-sponsored legislation pending that would prevent any public building or artifact, even a “bench” from being named after the 45th president of the United States. There is a farcical witch-trial to impeach the same villain even though he has left office and is now a private citizen. There is even Democrat talk of stripping Trump of his pension, despite the fact that he gave his entire $1.6 million salary as president to the American people - something no president before him has done. If ever there was a public lynching, short of stringing the victim from the nearest tree – and there are no lack of leftwing calls for that – the Democrats’ unrelentingly vindictive assault on the defeated Donald Trump down to the last petty detail is it.

But what is in effect a total war is not merely a war to cancel Donald Trump. If it were, it would be reprehensible enough, but not a threat to the nation itself. This demonic hate directed by the Democrat Party towards Trump is also hate for the 75 million Americans who voted for him. And there is no shortage of reminders of that. Ordinary Americans in all walks of life who happen to think that Trump’s presidency – which included record employment and record economic growth, delivered benefits for all Americans, particularly American minorities, secured America’s borders, defeated America’s terrorist enemies and led to an unprecedented reconciliation between Arab nations and the State of Israel – was a worthy achievement are treated as social pariahs, have their careers destroyed and (shades of the Kremlin) are regarded as mentally unfit and in need of deprogramming.

In a March 2020 interview with Axios, James Clyburn – the third ranking Democrat in the House and the political figure most responsible for Biden’s primary victory - raised the specter of Hitler when speaking about Trump, calling the president a racist and likening modern-day America to Germany during the Nazi Party’s rise to power. “I used to wonder how could the people of Germany allow Hitler to exist,” said Clyburn. “But with each passing day, I’m beginning to understand how. And that’s why I’m trying to sound the alarm.”

A Tsunami of Hate – not “divisiveness” – is the root cause of our political crisis and the most existential threat we have faced since the war to end slavery.

Consumer Watchdog Website

Most conservatives have modified their social media preferences and buying habits to reduce support of Marxist and Never-Trump businesses. Our household makes every effort to NOT buy through Amazon and is no longer on Facebook, Watt’s App, etc.  Below is a link to a list of products and services that conservatives might want to avoid.  It’s a long list, and some of the company names will undoubtedly surprise you.  Some sure surprised this household.  We use Bing or other search engines to avoid using Google, and yet both Bing and DuckDuckGo are on the list – just not in the “WORST” category.  Anyway, you might want to bookmark the list for reference.

`America First PAC: the alternative to CPAC

Evan James at Big League Politics reports:

The second annual America First Political Action Conference (AFPAC) took place Friday night in Orlando, Florida, the same city where CPAC has been holding its own conference.

The speakers at AFPAC included political commentator Vincent James, reporter Jon Miller, bestselling author and columnist Michelle Malkin, former congressman Steve King, sitting congressman Rep. Paul Gosar, and political commentator and activist Nick Fuentes.

AFPAC is a conference specifically for the dissident wing of conservative politics known as the America First movement. The movement held its first political action conference last year in Washington DC as an invitation only event, but this year’s event opened to the public and sold tickets on a first-come, first-served basis.

. . .

The evening’s third speaker was Michelle Malkin. Continuing the tradition of building her major political speeches on a work of poetry, Malkin on this occasion chose William Ernest Henley’s poem “Invictus.” Per usual she delivered a fiery speech that pulled no punches. She tore into globalist “conservatives” like Matt and Mercedes Schlapp, lobbyists and organizers of CPAC, and she ridiculed the recent attempts by the GOP establishment to coopt the term “America First.”

. . .

All of the speeches from AFPAC II can be watched in their entirety below [at the link above]:

Full report is here.

President Trump made it clear in his CPAC speech that he does not intend to launch a third party;  he is trying to drag the GOP back to the right.  CPAC vs. America First PAC is the debate of the day:  many conservatives are not optimistic that the GOPe can be reformed from within.  I have bookmarked Vincent James’ website TheRed Elephants.
