Indictment of Trump and our Secret Police

Margot Cleveland at The Federalist puts the indictment of President Trump into the larger context:

Manhattan grand jury has indicted former President Donald Trump, a spokesman for the district attorney’s office confirmed following late-Thursday media leaks. While the indictment remains under seal, one thing seems certain: America has now entered the era of “show me the man and I’ll show you the crime” politics.

The Democrat district attorney, Alvin L. Bragg, breathed new life into the infamous boast of Joseph Stalin’s secret police chief, Lavrentiy Beria, when the Manhattan prosecutor targeted the former president in connection to a 2016 payment made to Stormy Daniels. Bragg’s decision to push for an indictment against Trump, presumably for falsifying business records, promises to herald in a new political age — one in which local prosecutors will target partisan enemies, big and small, making a mockery of the criminal justice system in the process.

The fact that news of the charges leaked to the left’s favorite scribes at The New York Times, while the indictment remained still under seal, punctuates perfectly the Sovietesque times in which we live: The legacy media may not be state-run, but they peddle propaganda nonetheless.

And Ms Cleveland concludes:

. . . if the indictment contains no new details, the piling on to reach the reported 33 counts against the former president doesn’t make Trump look more guilty — it makes Bragg look more like Beria.

Limits to Growth – or We’re All Gonna Die

William R. Forstchen had an excellent piece recently at American Thinker on today’s climate crisis:

Oh my God -- we’re doomed.  The UN’s Panel on Climate Change came out with a frightening report earlier this month that we are sitting on a global time bomb, and according to CNN, “time is running out,” without immediate drastic action.  The UN report states that if global temperatures reach 1.5 C above the pre-industrial temperature norm of 1850-1900, the resulting melting of the polar ice caps, rising oceans, and unprecedented ecological disaster will follow.

I read this a few days back on a dark and stormy night while working on my own tome about disaster, the next book in the One Second After series.  One Second After examines what would happen if we were ever hit by an enemy using an Electro-Magnetic Pulse generated from detonating a nuclear weapon in space.  But ecological disaster, which is all but inevitable according to the highly respected UN report, was far more frightening.  Closing off working on my book, I brewed yet another cup of coffee, sat back and pulled out a well-respected study on this existential threat to all mankind.

I started to thumb through the pages of a work that took a team of international experts years to research and has sold well over 12 million copies since publication.

I turned to the chapter on fossil fuels.  The report states we have only about twenty more years of oil out there, we are already at peak oil, which will then start to go downhill and the wells will run dry no matter how much we scramble to get more.  There will be a final rush to pump one more drop of oil even if at the cost of twenty dollars a gallon, but that in turn will accelerate the depletion into a death spiral.  Natural gas will not save us, as we turn to that source as oil runs out, we’ll deplete that as well.  Again, a death spiral.

Climate is the big one this report.  Despite our feeble efforts to address the radical changes already taking place, the disaster will explode within ten to fifteen years, due in large part to the depletion of farmlands worldwide from the use of toxic chemical fertilizers and pesticides, soil exhaustion, and encroaching urban population.  The results: famine, disease, and mass starvation then triggering political instability in which hundreds of millions will die.

The list went on and on, a list that would render any sane reader numb with despair.  But me?  I could only smile at it all. . .

The punchline:

You see, the book that I was reading, Limits to Growth, was published more than fifty years ago in 1972. . . .

And every predicted doomsday catastrophe has failed to materialize.  Read the rest here; Mr. Forstchen’s column includes specific doomsday scenarios with all those missed “deadlines.”

New voter photo ID law takes effect next week

Jake Zuckerman at Cleveland.com reports:

new state law takes effect next week requiring Ohioans to present a state-issued photo ID to vote, whether early or on Election Day.

The effective date next week means the new law will apply to voters participating in local and county elections taking place this year. Its fuller test, however, will occur next year in presidential, U.S. Senate and statewide races.

In previous elections, Ohioans could prove their identity with alternate forms of identification like a utility bill or bank statement with their address on it. But come April 7, they’ll need state-issued identification from Ohio or a valid U.S. passport. . . .

Who funds Antifa?

Andy Ngo is senior editor at The Post Millennial and author of the NYT bestseller, Unmasked: Inside Antifa’s Radical Plan to Destroy Democracy. Earlier this week at the NY Post, he reported on the radical organization Antifa’s funding sources:

Last week, the city of Philadelphia agreed to pay $9.25 million to 343 left-wing protesters who alleged they suffered “physical and emotional injuries” when police used tear gas and pepper spray to clear them off a major highway in downtown at a Black Lives Matter-style direct action in 2020.

Videos recorded at the time showed the mob shut down the highway while vandalizing public property.

As a journalist who reports on the militant far-left and its rioters, the question I’m asked most often is, “Who funds them?”

Some believe billionaire George Soros is responsible.

And they would be partially correct. Soros funds groups that form part of the support apparatus of left-wing militants — district attorneys, biased media and legal groups.

But his money doesn’t directly reach the pockets of militants on the street.

Who ends up paying far-left rioters like Antifa? Too often, taxpayers like you and me.

Through a developed network of radical leftist legal groups, like the National Lawyers Guild, lawfare against cities and police departments is the go-to method for payloads. . . .

Here’s the really ugly part:

. . . Nearly every American city afflicted by mass protesting and rioting in 2020 ended up settling and paying out millions in taxpayer money to radical protesters who were allegedly subjected to force by law enforcement. . . .

Hillsdale College and government funding

In the wake of the Stanford University debacle, Victor Davis Hanson (VDH) scores again with “Who Owns The University?”  The entire column (at American Greatness) is, as usual, full of excellent insights, but these paragraphs particularly caught my eye:

. . . After all, Stanford, and thousands of private universities like it, are not Hillsdale College. Hillsdale long ago lost trust in federal and state government due to their efforts to use their partial funding as a means of politically leveraging the college. And therefore, it has refused all public monies ever since.

Left-wing major colleges or universities have not done the same because they rightly assume the federal government shares their commitment to radical progressive change. And thus, Washington gives them free rein to discriminate in admission, housing, and hiring, as well as to suspend constitutional protections for faculty and staff—if in service to progressive-regressive agendas.

But that was then, and this is now. If Stanford’s sordid law school psychodrama taught us anything, it was that the law school mob felt they could threaten, smear, scream, disrupt and shut down a public speaker and do so with complete impunity. And they were right on all counts. . . .

Hillsdale College has stood out for years as dedicated to offering a classical liberal arts education, including American history!  They can do so because they refuse all state and federal funding.  Our household subscribes to their newsletter Imprimus, which always contains a modified version of a recent lecture by a recognized conservative, such as VDH.  Read his column here.

Digital Currency Coming Your Way

Yesterday this blog posted a meme showing why digital currencies are such a bad idea.  And Dr Joseph Mercola is not optimistic about stopping them:

STORY AT-A-GLANCE

  • Three large banks failed in a single week in March 2023, and the ripple effect could easily take down the entire banking system. The cascading bank failures began March 8 with the shut down and liquidation of the crypto bank Silvergate Capital. It had invested deposits in Treasury bonds, which lost value as interest rates were hiked to stem inflation
  • March 10, Silicon Valley Bank (SVB) failed. It too was invested in government bonds, which again became a problem when customers began making large fear-based withdrawals. This was the second largest bank failure in U.S. history, and the largest since the financial crisis in 2008
  • Spooked by the failure of Silicon Valley Bank, Signature Bank customers withdrew more than $10 billion in the days that followed, resulting in the shutdown of Signature Bank on March 12
  • Government regulators have promised to make customers of the two banks “whole” by insuring all funds, not just the first $250,000. Only select “too big to fail” banks will be eligible for this kind of special treatment. Small local banks will not be eligible
  • The most likely outcome of this bailout system is a consolidation of banks until we’re left with just a small number of mega-banks. This consolidation, in turn, will facilitate the rollout of a central bank digital currency (CBDC), as the banking industry will be a tight-knit monopoly

The Illusion of Choice

Laurie T. Vass is co- author with Thomas E. Vass of Reclaiming the American Democratic Impulse (2017). I had not heard of the title, and there were no reader reviews at Amazon.  She recently posted a reader comment at Conservative Treehouse that fills in more of the blanks in Sundance’s ongoing Uniparty exposés and explanations:

. . .Sundance states that,

“both the DNC and RNC are private corporations with no affiliation to government. [The differences between the two private corporations] is NOT primarily ideological. In the modern era, the corporate priority first begins with a battle over who controls [the internal power] in each corporation.”

. . .

Our historical analysis begins around 1985, with two political party developments in America.

During this early era, the Democrats slowly transformed from a political party that promoted the financial interests of working class citizens, to a more overtly Marxist party, that sought to implement a Marxist regime in America.

In the case of Democrats, they abandoned the working class, and embraced the class war rhetoric of Marx.

The election of Obama, in 2008, completed the transition of the Democrat Party to an ideological party, intent on the overthrow of the American government.

Beginning around 1985, with the opening of China as a trading partner, Republicans abandoned the national economic sovereignty interest of growing the economic pie, in favor of an open-border globalism that directed the benefits of global trade to themselves.

As Sundance correctly points out, when the Republican Party transitioned to an overtly global corporatist orientation, working and middle class MAGA citizens lost a political voice within the Vichy Republican Party.

As Sundance stated,

“The RNC want to give the illusion of support for MAGA conservatism because they need the base voter, and they need to maintain the illusion of choice.”

Sundance’s posting titled “Mid-Tier Donor Class Very Worried About Ron DeSantis 2024 Management Agenda” is here.  Scroll down for reader comments including the one quoted above, or search the comments pages for “Laurie Vass”.  The extract above is a brief one from a much longer comment.  I don't know if I agree with her conclusions, but then, I have not read either her 2017 or her forthcoming book.

Trump March 25 rally ~ links UPDATED

Reposted from yesterday with updates:

Newsweek’s Ewan Palmer has the announcement of Donald Trump’s rally tomorrow, and the report casts the rally in as negative a light as possible.  What a surprise:

Donald Trump has come under fire over his upcoming rally in Waco, Texas, with the former president facing a number of potential headaches as he attempts to kick-start his 2024 campaign.

Trump will appear at his first major public 2024 rally in the Lone Star state on Saturday, March 25, while facing a potential historic indictment in New York as part of an investigation into alleged hush money paid to Stormy Daniels.

Trump's team announced the Waco rally on March 17, one day before the former president claimed on social media that he would be arrested under Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg's probe and called for his supporters to protest. . . .

Think Twice Before Buying an Electric Vehicle

Enrico Trigoso at BasedUnderground has a report that should make every driver think twice before switching to an electric vehicle (EV):

The corporate-controlled media is finally coming around to accepting the truth about the electric vehicle (EV) revolution, which is not even close to being as environmentally friendly as its supporters and promoters claim.

Reuters published a piece this week revealing that even the smallest EV accidents, including minor fender-benders, almost always result in insurance companies having to total the entire car. The reason for this has to do with EV batteries, which are so expensive to replace that it makes more sense to just replace the entire car.

“We’re buying electric cars for sustainability reasons,” said Matthew Avery, research director at the automotive risk intelligence company Thatcham Research. “An EV isn’t very sustainable if you’ve got to throw the battery away after a minor collision.”

The battery pack in your average Tesla, for example, costs tens of thousands of dollars to replace. The battery pack alone represents a sizable portion of the vehicle’s overall price tag, it turns out.

Tesla and many other EV manufacturers have made battery packs a structural component of their cars in order to reduce costs for end consumers – but at what cost to the environment? Unless EV manufacturers change the ways in which they incorporate battery packs into their cars, all this needless waste will continue to pile up. . . .

. . .

(Related: It will never be possible for the electric grid as it currently exists to charge everybody’s EVs once gas-powered vehicles are gone.) . . .

Biden administration causes the problems they claim to be trying to solve

The charade continues.  As usual, Sundance at Conservative Treehouse sums it up so even non-financial wonks can follow:

At a certain point in the economics of the great pretending cycle, one must wonder what circles they live in.

Fed Chair Jerome Powell announced another quarter-point interest rate hike and simultaneously noted the banking crisis will likely lead to tighter credit and borrowing for businesses on Main Street…. thereby further reducing the U.S. economic output.  Yet here we are again, and not a single economic or financial pundit is even talking about the origin of the inflation the Fed action is pretending to address, the spike in energy prices.

At the core of the Biden policy issue that creates inflation, is the energy policy that has driven oil, gas, home heating, electricity and manufacturing/farming costs through the roof.  The blocking of energy resource development/production is the top issue leading to massive increases in consumer prices overall.  The Biden energy policy is entirely ignored by a federal reserve attempting to shrink inflation.

Follow the bouncing ball of consequence.

Biden restricts energy development [Main St Suffers].  Prices skyrocket [Main St Suffers]. The fed raises interest rates in an effort to reduce the economic activity to meet the lowered production of energy resource development [Main St Suffers].  The result of the interest rate hike creates liquidity issues for banks holding treasury securities [Main St Suffers].  The banks then reduce credit lines, reduce lending and tighten borrowing to match their lowered liquidity [Main St Suffers].

The Fed then notes further increases in rates may pause as they await the outcome of restricted banking credit and lending from the rate hikes previously installed.  Nowhere in any of this is anyone talking about the nucleus of the issue – the stupid energy policy.  The great pretending continues in the West, while smiling panda lunches with Vladimir Putin. . . .

America’s Sheriff David Clarke

During the 2016 GOP convention in Cleveland, this blogger & hubby were sitting at the bar in a neighborhood restaurant, and through the door came a man wearing a cowboy hat.  In the profile, we could have sworn it was America’s Sheriff, David Clarke.  As he came inside, well, it WAS David Clarke.  I stood up to intercept him on his way to a barstool and asked if I might shake his hand.  An innocent bystander offered to take a photograph.  What a privilege.

So yesterday evening, we were in another neighborhood restaurant, and there was a gentleman at the bar having a drink.  He was wearing a cowboy hat and was a dead ringer for David Clarke.  Then I noticed an American flag and a “Blue Lives Matter” patch on his vest.  So when he glanced in our direction, I gave him a thumbs-up.

He paid his check and then headed over to our table.  And indeed, it WAS America’s Sheriff.  We had a most excellent conversation, and we were able to shake his hand again.  He is in town filming.  And having a friendly visit with him was a real shot in the arm.  Check out his website here.

Wind, Solar, & Batteries: nope

Yesterday, we blogged on the Green Cult members, those environmental zealots who are actually up to something else.   As a follow-up, John Hinderaker at PowerLine explains why wind and solar power will “never work”:

Enormous amounts of money are being made by “green” fraudsters, utilities and politicians who tell us we are in the midst of a transition from fossil fuels to wind and solar energy. In fact, no such transition is underway; fossil fuel consumption is higher than ever. And no such transition will take place, ever, either in America or anywhere else in the world.

Why? Because wind and solar are both obsolete technologies. They produce electricity less than one-half of the time, a fact that will never change. How can we run a modern economy on intermittent energy sources? We can’t.

If you ask a liberal that question, his answer will be “batteries.” He will admit that wind and solar work only occasionally, but that is no problem, he will tell you, because the electricity they generate can be stored in batteries for later use.

Power can be stored in batteries, of course. We all do this every day, storing tiny amounts on our laptops, smart phones and so on. But our energy demands are almost unfathomably large, and all of the batteries in the world don’t begin to meet those needs. My colleague Isaac Orr created this graphic, which compares energy consumption in just one state in one country, as of 2019, with projected battery storage in the entire world as of 2030. You might as well rely on pixie dust as on batteries:

The Progressive Left’s Playbook

Pat Cross cartoon

Wayne Allyn Root at Root For America thinks he’s figured out the grand plan:

By Arresting Trump, Democrats Want Either Civil War,
Martial Law, or Another January 6th

Democrats (i.e., radical communist traitors) in conspiracy with a corrupt, Soros-funded, communist DA, and weaponized government goons [includes the Capitol Police, DoJ, FBI, & then-Speaker Pelosi] intend to indict, arrest & perp walk President Trump this coming week. Why are they doing this? I know their playbook like the back of my hand.

1.    At the very least, they want a thousand new January 6 scenarios- so they can arrest and lock away thousands of conservative patriots for years- and brand conservatives patriots as terrorists.

2.    Their very best scenario is to incite civil war and rip this country apart. Then they can declare Martial Law, lock down the country, destroy all our jobs and businesses, and take away our freedom permanently.

3.    To slander, demonize and destroy Trump- and hopefully disqualify him as a presidential candidate. They’re THAT scared of Trump beating them in 2024.

4.    Most importantly, this is all a WMD- Weapon of Mass Distraction.

Look around. The country is collapsing. Trains derailing. The supply chain failing. Democrat-run inner cities in ruins. Our border is wide open - with millions of illegal aliens being waved in. Banks are failing. Inflation is raging. Crime is exploding. The national debt is out of control. Sudden deaths and heart attacks from Biden’s vaccine mandates are exploding all around us- it’s literally a vaccine holocaust. Your children are being brainwashed to change their gender. And the crimes, extortion and bribery of the Biden Crime Family are finally coming to light.

So, this is the perfect moment for Biden to unleash a “Weapon of Mass Distraction.” Indict, arrest and perp walk President Trump.

More of Mr. Root’s column is here.  And if President Trump IS arrested, here’s Mr. Root’s strategy:

. . .  All 80 million of us should go to Trump’s web site and contribute on the day he is arrested. We will make it the biggest fundraising day in the history of U.S. politics. That’s a powerful statement too. https://www.donaldjtrump.com

The Mask of The Green Cult

“The Mask of The Green Cult.”  Sounds like a science fiction movie.  Except that it’s all around us, for real.  Adam Vicari at American Thinker starts his essay:

For decades now, you have heard leftist ear sores bloviate endlessly about "climate change."  The world will end in a decade if we don't take action now! screams AOC.  However, the more skeptical and rational among us tend to question the true motivation of the environmentalist Green cult.

The best example of a real environmentalist was probably conservationist John Muir, the founder of the Sierra Club.  Muir's work helped to establish a number of national parks throughout the country, an act that did not regress the progress of society for the sake of nature, but sought to preserve nature while simultaneously allowing industrial society to progress at a steady rate.  Thus, Muir sought to build something, while the modern environmentalist movement seeks only to destroy everything and anything that gets in the way of its climate crusade.

Just take a look at the Sierra Club's website today, and see what its goals are for 2030.  Within the next seven years, the Sierra Club hopes to eliminate enough coal and gas in the energy sector to make for 80% carbon "pollution"–free electricity by that time, in addition to decreasing oil used in the transportation sector by 18%, ending the sale of gas appliances, and halting the fossil fuel market by banning oil and gas exports and petrochemical expansion at the same time.  This is an ambitious plan...and also a complete load of BS and magical thinking.

Although it may not faze most people at first, notice how they call carbon a "pollutant" and claim they want to reduce it by 80% in electricity production.  Since when is carbon a pollutant?  Carbon is an element necessary to all life on earth. No organism can survive without it.  Indeed, the entire process on which all human life depends, photosynthesis, requires carbon dioxide.  In order for plants to produce oxygen for living beings to breathe, they must first collect carbon dioxide dispelled from the living being breathing the air they are producing.  Numerous studies have indicated that areas with higher carbon concentration are more green and more fertile, not less

So why would the Green cult want to reduce the amount of carbon in the atmosphere? . . . .

Why indeed?  Mr. Vicari has some good guesses.  Read his column here.

Dr Joseph Mercola & The Story That Won’t Go Away

Dr Joseph Mercola continues to point out what most doctors don’t want to talk about.  And the CDC is manipulating the data.  Again.  Here’s Dr Mercola's “Story-at-a-Glance" at Discern Report:

STORY AT-A-GLANCE

  • So far, children have been largely unfazed by COVID-19 because their interferon pathway works really well. Interferon is an immune molecule that protects cells against invading pathogens
  • The COVID jab inhibits the type-1 interferon pathway, so mass injecting young children may actually erase the natural herd immunity against COVID-19 that would develop if all children remained un-jabbed
  • Aggressive cancers have exploded among adults who got the shots, even though it’s only been a little over two years since their rollout
  • Analysis of U.S. Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR) data suggests the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is re-designating cancer deaths as COVID deaths [emphasis added] to eliminate the cancer signal, and has been doing so since April 2021
  • We’ve also seen massive increases in excess mortality from abnormal clotting issues and heart problems since the COVID shots rolled out. If side effects such as cancer, heart disease and stroke are killing working age adults in unprecedented numbers already, what will the excess mortality be, say, 10 years from now if children and teens keep getting mRNA boosters every year?

Man learns from history that man never learns from history

Your weekend read:  Victor Davis Hanson points out the alarming parallels between the collapse of the Byzantines and the collapse of America.  He begins:

When Constantinople finally fell to the Ottomans on Tuesday, May 29, 1453, the Byzantine Empire and its capital had survived for 1,000 years beyond the fall of the Western Empire at Rome.

Always outnumbered in a sea of enemies, the Byzantines’ survival had depended on its realist diplomacy of dividing its enemies, avoiding military quagmires, and ensuring constant deterrence.

Generations of self-sacrifice ensured ample investment for infrastructure. Each generation inherited and improved on singular aqueducts and cisterns, sewer systems, and the most complex and formidable city fortifications in the world.

Brilliant scientific advancement and engineering gave the empire advantages like swift galleys and flame throwers—an ancient precursor to napalm.

The law reigned supreme for nearly a millennium after the emperor Justinian codified a prior thousand years of Roman jurisprudence.

Yet this millennium-old crown jewel of the ancient world that once was home to 800,000 citizens had only 50,000 inhabitants left when it fell.  . . .

And he concludes:

Like Byzantines, Americans have become snarky iconoclasts, more eager to tear down art and sculpture that they no longer have the talent to create.

Current woke dogma, obscure word fights, and sanctimonious cancel culture are as antithetical to the past generations of World War II as the last generation of Constantinople was to the former great eras of the emperors Constantine, Justinian, Heraclius, and Leo.

The Byzantines never woke up in time to understand what they had become.

So far neither have Americans.

A Case Against Socialism

Posting at Campus Reform, Ilya Buynevich explains why advocates for socialism in America don’t know what they’re talking about:

Walking near Temple University, I noticed a flyer advocating for “socialism in our lifetime.” The message from an outside group reads in full, “Socialist Revolution: Join the fight for socialism in our lifetime.” Having grown up in Soviet-era Ukraine and now a tenured professor at Temple, I feel strongly that most college-age Americans do not understand what they are saying when they advocate for socialism.

Today, many American college students do not understand that they are advocating for a system that goes beyond what even the Soviets promoted. There is a real distinction that students do not appreciate between the romanticized idea of state socialism in Scandinavia and the reality of socialism – what I experienced as a student in the Soviet Union.

Most student activists tout equity and many undergraduates champion socialism as a means to achieve equity – a process to engineer outcomes. Where I grew up, this would mean giving everyone the same grade, so it was never a factor in Soviet higher education.  . . .

Bank failures lead to digital currency

Amy Mek at RAIR Foundation gives us all fair warning:

Unless people start making a lot of noise and applying a lot of pressure, we will move to digital currency, warns Tucker Carlson.

Big banks are eating up small banks. During his program this week, Tucker Carlson said that means less competition and more government control.

What will the government do with that control? Carlson says that unless people start making a lot of noise and applying a lot of pressure, we will move to digital currency.

Government’s Increased Control

The four largest banks – Wells Fargo, Bank of America, JP Morgan, and Chase – are doing well. Meanwhile, the White House appears to be provoking bank runs at regional banks. The government also seems to be trying to erode confidence in those banks.

Carlson stressed that the Biden administration is using this crisis to increase its control. . . .

James O’Keefe is back in business

Nicole Silverio at The Daily Caller has good news:

Former Project Veritas CEO James O’Keefe announced Wednesday that he is launching the O’Keefe Media Group after his ousting from his previous company.

O’Keefe vowed to “build an army of investigators” to expose corruption in a video promoting his upcoming new company. The platform is set to launch July 4, 2023.

“We are going to build an army of investigators and exposers,” he said in a video. “They have awakened the sleeping giant. I’m back. Remaining by my side are a small, tight knit group of the most elite journalists in the world. Exposing corruption requires standing up to power because power hates sunlight and we are sunlight.”

“Welcome to the O’Keefe Media Group, where we will never be shut down,” he continued. “Because not only do I own it, but you own it too.” . . .

Bank failures: where does the buck stop?

At his Substack, Don Surber has some answers:

The blame game over SVB’s [Silicon Valley Bank’s] collapse is a diversion. The media have rounded up the usual suspects: Trump, greed, bad law, blah, blah, blah. When Captain Renault did that in Casablanca, he knew who the real culprits were. The media is not that bright.

James Hickman is. He is the founder of Sovereign Research. He looked at the numbers and he found the culprit.

Biden. He made government bonds worth less which has banks dropping like cockroaches in a Raid commercial.

. . .

SVB lost money on government bonds by the billion and that brought the bank down.

. . .

Bailing out SVB is not the end, rather it is the beginning.

The New York Times had to admit, “Investors Fear Bank Contagion, Despite a Sweeping Rescue Plan. Shares in regional lenders were under pressure, even after regulators unveiled a vast backstop for U.S. banks after Silicon Valley Bank’s collapse.”

There goes NYT saying despite again when it means “because of.” The panic at the Fed to create a new program to bail out banks — er, make billionaire depositors whole — was all we needed to know that once again, Biden led us to another economic catastrophe.

The wrecking balls keep coming at us.  Read all about it at Mr Surber’s Substack blog here.

The progressive left: what they want and why

A blogger at Substack publishing as “eugyppius” analyzes the priorities and motivations of Bill Gates, Klaus Schwab, the progressive political left, and in general, globalist elites. It’s a long essay, but very illuminating.  He explores the widely held perception that Mr. Gates is promoting depopulation, but he digs a bit deeper into the reasons.  The blogger builds methodically to his conclusion:

. . . A globalist cabal plotting the depopulation of the world would be a grave problem, but one with a clear enough solution. We’re facing, instead, an entire moral and ideological system, with very deep roots in prosperous Western culture. This isn’t a universe where everybody wakes up tomorrow, elects to put Bill Gates on trial for his crimes against humanity, and returns thereafter to sensible public health policy. It’s a world where millions of people share the ideological anxieties of eccentric children like Greta Thunberg, manifest escalating indifference to adverse policy outcomes in their own countries, and dream of a future earth devoid of humans like themselves. Because the driving forces operate at the level of moral instinct and emotion, no amount of evidence or appeals to reason that can stop this. Probably the best hope lies in its naivete and idealism. Worsening conditions will ultimately deprive these ideologies of their cultural appeal; how bad things have to get before this happens, is the terrifying question.

The January 6 “insurrection”: it’s worse than we thought

We knew Mike Pence was a villain in the piece.  But it turns out that the J6 “insurrection” was far more insidious.  A Conservative Treehouse reader known as Regitiger has a guest post published (and introduced) by Sundance. It is the deepest dive I’ve seen on the January 6 “insurrection”, the certification of the election results, the failure to investigate election fraud, the suspension of due process and intimidation of peaceful protesters, and the roles played by Pence, Pelosi, McConnell, et al.  I am linking to this important analysis with a caveat:  it is extremely disturbing, as it exposes even more corruption than most of us suspected.  Not for the faint of heart.  To read, click here.

Danger: Fake foods and control

Dr Joseph Mercola at America First Report explains why we should all be wary of fake meat, impossible burgers, and the like.  And such fake foods are already on many restaurant menus.

STORY AT-A-GLANCE

  • I spoke with “Tea Time,” a program by Children’s Health Defense, about the dangers of fake meat products to help raise awareness about this latest assault on human health
  • Fake food — including lab-grown meat, animal-free dairy and plant-based meat — is the globalists’ latest attempt to control the food supply
  • The globalists are trying to replace animal husbandry with lab-grown meat, which will allow private companies to effectively control the human population
  • The idea that animals must be removed from agriculture to save the planet is flawed; animals are an integral, and necessary, part of the restorative process
  • Fake meat is an ultra-processed mixture of chemicals, GE ingredients, pesticides and toxic linoleic acid that will promote chronic disease

At face value, fake meat sounds like the perfect solution to end world hunger, protect animal welfare and save the planet from environmental destruction. Even a brief look below the surface reveals a much more nefarious reality, however.

. . .

Fake Meat Is All About Controlling the Food Supply

Fake food — including lab-grown meat, animal-free dairy and plant-based meat — is the globalists’ latest attempt to control the food supply. Former U.S. Secretary of State and national security adviser Henry Kissinger once said, “Control oil and you control nations; control food and you control people.” Controlling people is their whole agenda. . . .
