The people of Houston and elsewhere in Texas
showed a cooperation that shamed the politicians. Guys in boats were trolling
their neighborhoods searching for people to rescue. . . .
A nation drunk on politics suddenly was watching
people struggle to survive four feet of rainfall.
That was sobering.
