After Water Damage from Hurricane Ian

President Joe Biden, California Governor Gavin Newsom and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg all want you to buy electric vehicles in the future, with Newsom even aiming to ban gas-powered cars by 2035. Just be prepared that your new automobile might explode if the battery gets too wet.

Jimmy Patronis, Florida’s Chief Financial Officer & State Fire Marshal, tweeted Thursday:

There’s a ton of EVs disabled from Ian. As those batteries corrode, fires start. That’s a new challenge that our firefighters haven’t faced before. At least on this kind of scale.

Florida postcard via Sundance

Conservative Treehouse's Sundance has another important posting, “Citing a Need for COVID Compliance JoeBama Administration Weighs U.S. Travel Restrictions on Florida” – i.e., just another excuse for shredding our constitutional rights.  He begins

The vast majority of the Florida economy is essentially open and not impacted by the COVID-19 virus and state mitigation efforts.  Factually visitors to Florida are stunned at the seemingly little impact the COVID scamdemic is having on the state.  Everyone is going about their business as normal enjoying freedom, and there is no undue chaos or concern.

The common sense within Florida, the lack of actual economic damage and the absence of panic amid the citizenry, is adverse to the interests of those who have weaponized the fear of COVID to attain power and control over compliant citizens.  Governor Ron DeSantis is considered a rebellious troublemaker who must be dealt with by JoeBama’s Federal agencies and authorities.

But Sundance gets down to what we Americans can do to push back against not only the scamdemic but also against the fraudulent election coup that aims to take away our remaining freedoms:

Do not feed the system that is designed to destroy you.  Move your money away from big massive banking institutions and put it into local banks and credit unions.  Spend your income in smaller businesses on Main Street.  Do not shop at multinational corporations.

We are going to have to get out of convenience mode, or we will ultimately destroy ourselves. Do not use Amazon or related convenience systems for purchases.  Do as much local purchasing as possible.  Buy made in America products; it is an investment in our own economy.   Economic patriotism is how we defeat globalist economic expansion.

Defeating the “Great Reset” is a choice each individual has to make.

Election fraud, corruption, and jihad

Robert Spencer is a leading authority on Islamic jihad, and his column yesterday is about what’s going on with the Florida, Arizona, and probably a few other states with election results still not confirmed. He compares the corruption of our electoral systems to terrorism :

The theft of elections, even defying court orders to stop while the whole world is watching, is a new low in American politics, and testifies to the Left’s overriding lust for power. The Democrats have never recovered their equilibrium after losing to Donald Trump in 2016, and now appear to be willing to stop at nothing -- absolutely nothing -- to neutralize Trump and regain their hegemony.

The election fraud in Arizona and Florida is a continuation of the Kavanaugh hearings. Just as the outrageously false allegations of sexual assault and rape against Brett Kavanaugh did, the election fraud demonstrates that there is no low to which the Democrats will not stoop to gain and hold power. They will even affect a self-righteous mien of moral superiority while stooping.

The lesson that conservatives are meant to learn is not just that the Left will stop at nothing, but that the Left is unstoppable. Republicans and conservatives can vote for “drain the swamp” candidates all they want -- but the swamp will not be drained, as those candidates will not take office even if they win.

The intention is to intimidate and demoralize conservatives, induce them to give up and get out of this dirty game. This is, in a word, terrorism.

Free speech zones

Florida legislature bans 'free speech zones' on state campuses

The very notion of a "free speech zone" is repugnant to democracy and an affront to the First Amendment. But with radicals firmly in charge, they make the rules and enforce their codes with little opposition so far from state education authorities.

It's a small victory, but a significant one nonetheless. It shows that we can successfully pushback against the radicalization of our schools and protect the rights of all to freedom of speech.

Following up on Hurricane Irma

The Cleveland-based charity that collected food and household goods for Harvey victims in Texas does not have a stuff-the-truck project for South Florida on their current calendar. As I see it, truckloads -- and planeloads -- of food, water, and household goods would be sorely needed in the central rural areas of Florida and also various Caribbean islands that were destroyed (Virgin Islands, Barbuda, etc). Supplies and manpower are already coming in on military and private transports.

So on this one, some Cleveland Tea Party people may decide to write a check. There's a rated list of charities at Charity Navigator.  Our household is going with Samaritan's Purse, as they are going into the Caribbean as well as Florida.  They have their own cargo plane and their Charity Navigator rating is excellent.
