Incompetence or deliberate destruction?

Brian Lonergan at American Greatness points out the distinction between rank incompetence and deliberate destruction.  He cites the illegal immigration crisis at our southern border to make his case. Here’s a short extract:

. . . The tone was set even before January 20, 2021. In Democratic primaries the year before, candidate Joe Biden openly urged foreign nationals to “surge the border” if he were elected. This was followed by a blitz of executive orders on his first day in office. Many of the Trump border policies were ended, including those opposing sanctuary policies, preventing illegal aliens from being counted in the census, and authorizing construction of the border wall.

Did any of those Biden executive orders make things better for Americans living in America? Of course not. They only helped foreign nationals and extremist anti-borders groups with an agenda to weaken the United States. You, the anonymous, hard-working, taxpaying American citizen or legal resident, get to suffer the consequences.

The noxious tentacles of these policies are so long and intricate, it would take volumes to document and untangle all of them. The outcomes include more violent crime in the United States interior, death and suffering among those making the dangerous journey through Mexico, and a seemingly endless flow of people crossing our border about whom we know virtually nothing related to their backgrounds or intentions. What leader of a nation would allow this, much less intentionally cause it?

His brutal conclusion:

This is not incompetence; it is sabotage.

Cloward-Piven Plan is happening now

Wayne Allyn Root is a contributor to Townhall.  He’s taken controversial positions in the past, but I personally find his logic and reasoning in this article to be persuasive.

Vaccine Mandate Is Cloward-Piven Plan To Destroy USA and End Capitalism

Mr. Root starts off:

Back in the 1980s, I was a Columbia University student learning about a plan to destroy America and end capitalism. It was called Cloward-Piven -- named after a Columbia University husband-and-wife professor team. Their insane goal was to turn America into a socialist, communist hellhole.

They planned to do it by overwhelming and collapsing the U.S. economy with massive debt, created by getting as many Americans as possible to depend on welfare, food stamps and unemployment benefits. In the ensuing economic catastrophe and collapse of our country, every business owner would get on their knees to beg government to save them.

At that moment of crisis and chaos, we would become a socialist, communist country.

Don't look now, but it's happening. The communists of Columbia (and every other elitist Ivy League school) have tried for decades to force a majority of Americans to rely on welfare benefits. They failed. But they won't give up. They've modified the plan. It's now a powerful one-two punch.

First, they've opened the borders to let millions of migrants and refugees into this country -- almost all of whom want cradle-to-grave welfare. Also, don't forget they all need free health care for themselves and their kids, and their new babies, and their extended families. That alone could overwhelm the system and collapse the economy. That's before welfare and food stamps. And then there's free public school for all their children and expensive English-as-a-second-language programs that cost billions of dollars but make teachers unions filthy rich.

Open borders is Cloward-Piven strategy updated for 2021.

. . .

Part Deux of Cloward-Piven is the vaccine mandates. . .

Read the full column here. As I said, I have a hard time finding a flaw in his reasoning.  More scary stuff.

Babylon Bee does it again

Babylon Bee, the paper/blog of record, just won in court against the New York Times.  And today, here's the headline that shows why Babylon Bee is cutting edge satire:

Trump Announces He Is Building 1,954-Mile Long
Trump Hotel Along Southern Border

The BB "reports":

RIO GRANDE CITY, TX—Trump flew to America's southern border this week to announce a brand-new Trump hotel unlike anything the world has ever seen. The planned hotel will be almost 2,000 miles long and will be situated right on the southern border.

"Yes folks, I'm proud to announce we are building a big, beautiful, golden Trump hotel on the southern border," said Trump to reporters. "Land just happens to be really cheap down here, what can I say? The border just looks terrible ever since Sleepy Joe 'Loserface' Biden stole the presidency from me. Just a disgrace. I'll bet he can't even build a wall as fast and cheap as I can build my new Trump hotel. Watch!"

The luxurious hotel will also include an 800-mile golf course and a 1,000-mile lazy tubing river. The southern wall will be a gleaming and impenetrable barrier with Trump's name emblazoned on it every couple of miles.

. . .

Nigel Farage: Every state is now a border state

Since my husband is a naturalized US citizen – and he played by all the rules to earn his American citizenship -- this article by Nigel Farage caught my attention.  Forget that it’s Newsweek;  the full article is here.  Here’s the start:

On my tour of America over the last few weeks, I have inevitably spent a certain amount of time watching cable TV in hotel rooms. A recurring story that has cropped up on the news is the border crisis. Many of the images I've seen showed large groups of immigrants being rounded up. Others, which were even more distressing, depicted young children who have simply been abandoned.

The total number of people who have come into the U.S. illegally so far this year is unknown. Some estimates claim it is as high as 700,000. Many—perhaps most—voters agree that it is at an unsustainable level. Yet given the Biden administration's reluctance to return any of these people to their home nation, the upshot is that every state is now a border state.

It is fascinating to compare Joe Biden's handling of this situation with the approach of one of his Democratic predecessors, Bill Clinton. When Clinton delivered his State of the Union address in 1995, he received a standing ovation from Congress for his comments on illegal immigration, in which he repeatedly referred to those who were in the country illegally as "illegal aliens" or "criminal aliens." Clinton would not get away with uttering these words today, in the "new" America.

Although every commentator continues to describe this situation as a "crisis," I would suggest the time has come to call it an emergency. And yet as a political issue, doing so could prove to be electoral dynamite in the midterm elections of 2022. For those people who have done the right thing and entered America legally, the idea that those who came illegally—or those who have been trafficked—will soon have to have the same rights as them is an insult. It is for this reason that I believe this situation offers much hope to Republican candidates, especially when it comes to appealing to Latino voters.

. . .

I decided that I would visit the border following a speaking event in Phoenix. What I discovered there is far more sinister and dangerous than anything that I could find on cable TV.

. . .

There is no getting away from the fact that this is a criminal enterprise from start to finish, and all American voters need to be told this truth.

FTA: “For those people who have done the right thing and entered America legally, the idea that those who came illegally—or those who have been trafficked—will soon have to have the same rights as them is an insult.”  Yup.

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on a “smooth transition”

Kristina Wong reports on Secy. Pompeo's optimistic take at Breitbart:

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Tuesday said he expects there to be a second Trump administration when the outcome of the election is final.

A reporter asked Pompeo if the State Department was preparing to engage with the Biden transition team and whether not doing so would delay or hamper a “smooth transition” or pose a national security risk.

Pompeo responded: “There will be a smooth transition to a second Trump administration.”

Cue: splodey heads.  Read the rest here.

Project Veritas is fighting back

Ben Garrison cartoon via Project Veritas

Project Veritas sent a letter to several Members of Congress informing them about Project Veritas’ investigation of Google that raises some concerns regarding Google’s possible improper intervention in Federal elections which may violate laws like the Federal Election Campaign Act (FECA).

The letter is a follow up to Project Veritas’ latest investigative report which includes undercover video of Google officials, leaked internal Google documents and emails, and statements provided by a Google insider.

We sent versions of the letter to several members of Congress.

The full report with text of the letter is here.

Congress going rogue: Action Alert

NumbersUSA has the legislative update for next week:

House Democrats are poised to vote on an enormous appropriations bill that will fund a great deal of federal spending next year. It covers the Departments of Defense, Health and Human Services, Education, Labor, State, and others.

This funding bill contains language that UNDERMINES AND EVEN REVERSES efforts already being made to tighten enforcement and end the border crisis. NumbersUSA has already urged House Members to oppose the bill. We warned them that we will score against this action in our Immigration Gradecards. These grade cards are read by hundreds of thousands of our activists. They sort out those that merely pay lip service to enforcement from those who actually vote to reduce immigration.

The NumbersUSA scoring notice sent to Congress states, "House Democrats, however, aren't content with the utter collapse of our entire immigration infrastructure, and instead are using this bill to actively obstruct the Administration's efforts to deal with the crisis on the southern border."

The bill, H.R. 2740, contains these outrageous provisions:

Blocks any federal funds from any source whatever from being used to construct "border security infrastructure." This includes blocking the wall/fencing money appropriated by Congress even earlier this year! But H.R. 2740 provides funding to Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt and Tunisia to protect their borders.
Rewards illegal immigration by making DACA recipients eligible to take federal jobs.
Protects and rewards the illegal alien sponsors of unaccompanied alien children by blocking ICE from working with HHS to deport the illegal alien sponsors. Many of these sponsors are directly involved in human trafficking.
By obstructing efforts to control the border and enforce immigration laws, his bill could help strengthen Mexican drug cartels, which control the entire Mexican side of the Southern border.

The House is pursuing this ruinous course despite border apprehensions exploding, up by another third in May compared to April. Over 144,000 were apprehended in May. Reuters reports the makeup of the arrests: "While the vast majority of undocumented migrants arriving in the United States are from Central America, significant numbers have been arriving in recent months from Cuban and Haiti, via Panama, and from African countries, often via Brazil."

Becoming a United States citizen in 1903

The document above granted United States citizenship to a German immigrant named Matthias Moskopp, and it was handed down to his descendants. It was one of his prized possessions.

I can only imagine the sense of pride, gratitude, and reverence that this man felt when he recited his first Pledge of Allegiance [correction: the Pledge was not made until 1942. In 1903, the applicant would have recited the Oath of Allegiance.] This man was my great-grandfather. And he would have been horrified at the illegal immigration that we are all trying to stop.

According to NumbersUSA, Congress is inching toward putting amnesty back on the legislative agenda (Update here). NumbersUSA VP Jim Robb reported yesterday that only 5 more GOP representatives were needed to fulfill the requirement for the discharge petition, which would increase the risk of a vote on amnesty that most Americans do not want.

Governor John Kasich on Immigration, amnesty

Art credit: beforeitsnews.com

Illegal immigration has emerged as one of the most important issues in this primary election season. Fair (Federation for American immigration Reform) summarizes some fiscal and employment impacts of illegal immigration:

This report estimates the annual costs of illegal immigration at the federal, state and local level to be about $113 billion; nearly $29 billion at the federal level and $84 billion at the state and local level. The study also estimates tax collections from illegal alien workers, both those in the above-ground economy and those in the underground economy. Those receipts do not come close to the level of expenditures and, in any case, are misleading as an offset because over time unemployed and underemployed U.S. workers would replace illegal alien workers.

Tomorrow’s Ohio primary is less than 24 hours away, and here’s a report from Julia Hahn at Breitbart:

With Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL)’s presidential hopes diminishing as his personal demons catch up with him—from his relationship with billionaire Norman Braman to his role in pushing Obama’s amnesty—the donor class seems to be turning its eyes to John Kasich’s last stand in Ohio.

The hope seems to be that a Kasich win in Ohio will not only deny GOP frontrunner Donald Trump delegates, but will also create a new vehicle for arriving at a contested convention.

Because the Kasich campaign was largely ignored as a non-factor prior to Rubio’s polling collapse, Kasich went months with virtually no scrutiny of even his most bizarre statements on the campaign trail.

However, in recent days, Trump has increasingly set his sights on Kasich—whether it be Kasich’s role at Lehman Brothers during the time of the economic collapse, as well as Kasich’s support for NAFTA and Obama’s Trans-Pacific Partnership agreement—a deal which Donald Trump and Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL) have warned would destroy Ohio’s auto industry.

In particular, Trump has zeroed in on Kasich’s heretofore overlooked push for massive amnesty. Though it has transpired without much attention, Kasich has quietly amassed a string of bizarre, peculiar, and extreme statements on immigration that places him to the furthest leftward reaches of not just the Republican President field, but the Democratic Presidential field as well. This perhaps underscores an element of seriousness to Kasich’s previous declaration, which he had intended in jest: “I ought to be running in a Democrat primary.”

Below are just some of Kasich’s most bizarre and radical statements on immigration, which have flown under the radar.

1) “God Bless” Illegal Immigrants . . .
2) “I couldn’t imagine” enforcing our current immigration laws: “That is not… the kind of values that we believe in.” . . .
3) Kasich likened deporting the illegal population to Japanese internment camps . . .
4) Illegal immigrants “are some of the hardest-working, God-fearing, family-oriented people you can ever meet.” . . .
5) Allowing ICE officers to do their jobs is not “humane” . . .
6) America can’t deport illegal immigrants because they are “made in the image of the Lord”  . . .
7) Kasich has called for implementing an open borders-style policy where workers can come and go as they please. . . .
8) Kasich would enact amnesty within his first 100 days. . . .
9) America shouldn’t address ending birthright citizenship because it’s “dividing people” . . .
10) Illegal immigrants should be allowed to stay because “they’re here” . . .
