Fiddling America Away

So where are we now?  One of this blog's favorites, Victor Davis Hanson (VDH), looks at the big picture, and his column “Fiddling America Away” at American Greatness is not encouraging.  He begins:

The last few weeks, the world had been writing off the United States as either crazy or irrelevant as it watches America cannibalize itself.

Friends tremble at our sudden decline. Enemies rejoice. Neutrals make the necessary adjustments to join the ascendant non-American side.

The symptoms of our decline abroad appear everywhere. The more Joe Biden brags about the crippling oil sanctions on Russia, friends like India and allies like Japan ignore them. And why not, when Biden has no idea how long the war in Ukraine will last, or how much wherewithal the United States can, should, or will give Kyiv, or how its on-to-Red-Square blank check will finally end?

Big Biden talks about more solar and wind farms, and green new deals won’t fill the gas tanks in Munich or heat the homes of Kyoto, or lower the price of imported oil in the United Kingdom. Claiming the Afghanistan mess was a success fools no one.

Allies ask who are our leaders. An impaired Joe Biden who never is quite sure where he is, what he is doing, or whom he is with?

And VDH concludes:

So America suffers the sins of omission—squabbling over the nonessential—and commission—losing wars, going broke, ruining its economy, flirting with civil war. We know these are all self-inflicted wounds. But apparently, we believe their remedies are worse than the original maladies. And so we fixate only on the irrelevant that we think we can address while ignoring the existential we know we no longer can solve.

The world is terrified and stunned at the result—and increasingly looking elsewhere to non-American solutions.

VDH’s full column is here.

Where do you buy your meat products?

A website called “wholecows.com” has a frightening report about American farmers:

. . . Gene-editing is now officially in our meat industry. Lobbyists for the Cattlemen and Pork Associations in several states have confirmed that they will be using the mRNA Covid vaccines on their livestock. Attorney Tom Renz has been warning that there is no law requiring anyone to give informed consent for vaccine food.

There are no laws requiring anyone to tell you the food you are buying has been vaxxed with the spike protein clot shot.  . . .

The full report is here.  Attorney Tom Renz’s Twitter thread is here. It includes a screenshot of a legislative response in Missouri seemingly confirming this development;  apparently, legislators and meat industry lobbyists do NOT want transparency.  That screenshot has prompted me to investigate further.

Note:  This report was so frightening that I hesitated to post it on this blog without further corroboration.  However, over the weekend, Sundance at Conservative Treehouse posted a video interview with Tom Renz on the subject. Click here. Sundance is already vigorously investigating the report.  I've also been checking in regularly with sites (Dr Robert Malone, Steve Kirsch, Dr Peter McCullough, et al) to confirm the report from a medical standpoint and will post an update in due course.

And an update as of Apr-10:  Dr Joseph Mercola has an even more alarming report;  go here. His ominous title:  "How Long Have You Been Consuming Gene Therapied Pork?"  It's a deep dive.

Digital Currency = Political Tyranny

Robert F. Kennedy Jr, has announced his bid for the Democrat Party’s nomination for President in 2024.  He’s been an outspoken (and published) critic of the COVID "vaccine” mandates and Dr Anthony Fauci, and now he’s taking on the imminent introduction of global bank digital currency (CBDC).  A digital currency challenges the dollar as the world's reserve currency.  Ben Bartee at PJ Media reports:

RFK Jr. Warns of Serious CBDC Threat to Liberty

. . .

Taking to Twitter, RFK Jr. succinctly laid out the reasons for his principled opposition to central bank digital currencies:

The Fed just announced it will introduce its “FedNow” Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) in July. CBDCs grease the slippery slope to financial slavery and political tyranny.

While cash transactions are anonymous, a #CBDC will allow the government to surveil all our private financial affairs. The central bank will have the power to enforce dollar limits on our transactions restricting where you can send money, where you can spend it, and when money expires.

He goes on to warn of the obvious social control implications that this newfound government power to turn off the financial spigot on a whim will confer to the bureaucracy — of the hellish CCP social credit score variety.

“Watch as governments, which never let a good crisis go to waste, use Covid-19 and the banking crisis to usher in a new wave of CBDCs as a safe haven from germ-laden paper currencies or as protection against bank runs,” the son of the legendary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. concluded. . . .

July is right around the corner.

Force Majeure: another wrecking ball?

Belle Carter at Natural News (& reposted at Discern Report), introduces another likely wrecking ball coming to your neighborhood:  force majeure.  Back in the day, when part of my job was negotiating contracts, a force majeure clause was always one of the standard provisions.  At that time, force majeure would have been described as:

In business circles, "force majeure" describes those uncontrollable events (such as war, labor stoppages, or extreme weather) that are not the fault of any party and that make it difficult or impossible to carry out normal business. A company may insert a force majeure clause into a contract to absolve itself from liability in the event it cannot fulfill the terms of a contract (or if attempting to do so will result in loss or damage of goods) for reasons beyond its control.

In my own professional experience, no contract was ever nullified by force majeure.  But now here’s Ms Carter sounding yet another alarm:

Back in September last year, the Health Ranger Mike Adams put forward a scenario in which things could end in a global force majeure. This is slowly taking shape now as financial institutions start to crumble.

Finance website Investopedia defines force majeure as a clause included in contracts that takes out liability for unforeseeable and unavoidable catastrophes that interrupt the expected course of events and prevent participants from fulfilling obligations.

The examples cited are natural disasters like hurricanes, tornadoes and earthquakes, as well as human actions like armed conflicts and man-made diseases.

“It means that many financial obligations – potentially including social security, U.S. Treasury debt, pensions, derivatives, commodities paper contracts, industrial deliverables, insurance payout obligations, etc. – would be nullified,” Adams said during the September 12, 2022 episode of “Health Ranger Report.”

“This appears to be part of the ‘Great Reset’ plan to clear out U.S. Treasury debt by ‘defaulting without defaulting’ – i.e. blaming some other great emergency for the cancellation of financial obligations and the wholesale resetting of the global money canvas.” (Related: Global FORCE MAJEURE coming after declaration of World War III – many financial obligations, contracts and pensions will be vacated.)

Stock analyst Marshall Hargrave also pointed out that force majeure, by virtue of not always being 100 percent clear and transparent, generally favors the big guys. . . .

Ms Carter covers related topics, including ownership of precious metals, especially gold, as a hedge.  As noted above, though, force majeure “generally favors the big guys”.  The full article is here.

And again, if you think this is far-fetched, according to Investopedia, the Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic could qualify as force majeure.

Reasonable Democrats and Persuasion

Tired of beating your head against a wall?  Ian MacConnell at American Thinker has some ideas about how to persuade those of your friends who think the Democrat Party of today is the same one they grew up with -- and of course, it's not:

Here is the problem in a nutshell.  Most Democrat voters don't realize that leftist idealogues have hijacked the Democrat party, actively pushing traditional Democrat politicians out.  They don't yet understand that the Democrat party they knew doesn't exist anymore.  Almost all of the major news organizations work together to lie to Democrat voters and feed them misinformation constantly.  Corrupted government entities like the FBI and the DOJ, and the leftists running all social media, have worked together to censor and silence any dissenting voices.  The goal is to create a false reality in the eyes of Democrat voters and shield them from the truth.  This is vital to ensure their continued support on Election Day.

Most Democrat voters I talk to up here are comparatively normal, although deceived and misinformed.  Most of them don't seem to like leftists very much, though.  Many of them can't identify with their own party anymore and feel like displaced persons politically.

. . .

I'm not saying we should waste our time trying to talk to people who wear "pussy hats" and take their toddlers to Drag Queen Story Hour.  Only a psychiatrist can help people like those.  I'm saying that we can, and we should, try to engage positively with reasonable Democrat voters about the current state of the country.

. . .

Remember, we're trying to expose reasonable Democrat voters to truths the lying media never let them see, not win an argument.

. . .

Mr MacConnell presents a number of questions – questions only – that a liberal who always votes “D” might think about.  Mr MacConnell's full column is here

And as I’ve been saying for years to anyone who will listen:  expand your sources of news.  I always stand ready to share a list of news aggregators that reveal instantly to anyone just scanning the headlines that he/she is not getting news.  They are getting propaganda.

Climate Alarmism vs Real Environmentalism

Edward Ring’s column at American Greatness on “Climate Alarmism” offers some facts that might just get through to your climate alarmist friends by making them think about something that motivates them:  guilt.

How Climate Alarmism Killed Real Environmentalism

The environmentalist movement is a political weapon. It unites the most powerful special interests in the world behind an agenda that will further centralize power and wealth, eliminate any hope of financial independence for the vast majority of people, and transition previously free and independent nations into managed, sham democracies that have lost their sovereign agency.

The overwhelming theme of environmentalism today, designed to obscure its true agenda, is the alleged “climate crisis.”

Americans may or may not eventually muster the impertinence to successfully challenge the political power grab masquerading as environmentalism today. But either way, its centerpiece, the “climate crisis,” is responsible for devastating harm both to what was once a legitimate environmentalist movement, as well as to the environment itself.

Policies ostensibly designed to manage the planet’s climate are taking attention and resources away from genuine environmental threats. At the same time, a growing percentage of people are recognizing the fraudulent essence of the “climate crisis” agenda and, as a result, are becoming indifferent to legitimate environmental concerns.

This is a tragedy.

. . .

Here are just a few of the environmental disasters in progress that nobody talks about either because they’re making too much money pushing the climate change scam, or because they’re thoroughly disgusted with the climate change scam and disregard all environmentalist concerns.

Mr Ring then expands on each of the following bullet point topics:

  • Loss of Insect Population
  • Aquatic Dead Zones
  • Overfishing
  • Energy Security in Developing Nations
  • The Biofuel Disaster
  • Massive Oceanic Garbage Patches
  • Population Crash

Mr Ring’s conclusion:

. . . By now, the fraudulent reality of “renewables” that aren’t renewable is well documented, even if that fact receives scant attention in the mainstream press. But this additional fact—that the climate alarmist focus on achieving “net zero” is discrediting environmentalism at large, and taking attention away from other serious environmental threats—is perhaps the saddest chapter in the story of a movement that has lost its way.

Mr Ring’s column is here.
