David Horowitz: The Art of Political War

There was a very good article written by David Horowitz on Front Page that I found on the tea Party Patriot site. In this article Horowitz details "The Art of Political War for the Tea Parties."

Though we do not support or endorse candidates, there are many interesting items in the article that can be applied to our groups and what will be the drag on all the new groups. I took a couple paragraphs out of the article that can be applied to the groups the same as Horowitz has applied them to the Republican problems. But, many of what Horowitz points out is spot on about why the Republicans, especially here in Ohio, fail to win elections and support from outside the party.

The first paragraphs that should be singled out is the single biggest problem faced growing the groups -- conservatives want to much structure and bureaucracy within the groups. This is deadly for the movement and exactly what we are fighting against in our government. An overly structured group and especially formal alliances is like dead weight. It is far too restrictive. Loose-knitted working relationships between the groups is what is needed for this to succeed....
Republicans play right into the Democrats’ trap because they approach politics as a problem of management. To Republicans, every issue is a management issue—the utility of a tax cut, the efficiency of a program, the optimal method for running an enterprise. Republicans talk like businessmen who want a chance to manage the country so that it will turn a profit.

There is nothing wrong with instituting good policies and running things efficiently or turning a profit. But while Republicans are performing these Gold Star activities, Democrats are engaged in a different kind of drama. They are busy attacking Republicans as servants of the rich, oppressors of the weak and defenders of the strong. And enemies of “the people.”

Interpretation --- as some want to install more structure, positions, alliances, councils, etc and talk about what to do or how to do it -- the democrats are out casting the Tea Party's and 9.12 groups as tools for the Republican party and extremists.

We need to concentrate on doing rather than structuring. The key really is to keep it simple -- and this is the hard thing for the well-intentioned & structured-minded conservatives to do. We need the freedom and flexibility to address the issues as they surface. Too much structure takes away from this flexibility and creates tunnel vision within the groups, alliances, councils, etc...

The above leads to the next paragraph being cited -- too much preaching to the choir and worrying about too many things.... (emphasis added)

Of course, you have a base of supporters who will listen for hours to what you have to say if that’s what you want. In the battles facing you, they will play an important role. Therefore, what you say to them is also important. But it is not going to decide elections. The audiences that will determine your fate are audiences that you will first have to persuade.

Therefore it is absolutely essential to focus your message and repeat it over and over again. Lack of focus will derail your message. If you make too many points, your message will be diffused and nothing will get through. The result will be the same as if you had made no point at all.

Discussing topics, new developments, opinions, etc... within our groups is essential and very, very important. Good debate is crucial -- but continually talking about the same issues or wasting time on the daily "Reid or Pelosi just said...." amongst ourselves gains no ground and is counterproductive. Politicians love when you lose focus and we turn our efforts to their latest press release or statement. Why? It takes time away from where we need to be focused.

We already know where we stand -- it is vital to get our message out for the Independents and the voters still watching American Idol or Dancing with the Stars.

We must keep our messages short, sweet and to the point. The average person does not care if Nancy Pelosi or Harry Reid just made another statement about health care. Many people get turned off by this stuff and only want to know how it will affect them -- but only if it takes a couple minutes and is easy to understand and digest.

Think about it -- how politically active were you before the Tea Party's and 9.12 groups came around? Did you want to hear every detail about a bill or the daily political events? Most likely the answer is no. We need to remember that as we talk to others that are not yet involved.

Sign Glenn Becks "Open Letter to our Nation's Leadership" Petition

These principles come from an open letter to America that was sent from a listener to the Glenn Beck Program. Currently there are 152,751 signatures You can read & sign by clicking here.

Principles

I. Illegal immigration

I want you to stop coddling illegal immigrants and secure our borders. Close the underground tunnels. Stop the violence and the trafficking in drugs and people. No amnesty, not again. Been there, done that, no resolution. P.S., I'm not a racist. This isn't to be confused with legal immigration.

II. TARP

I want it repealed and I want no further funding supplied to it. We told you no, but you did it anyway. I want the remaining unfunded 95% repealed. Freeze, repeal.

III. Czars

I want the circumvention of our checks and balances stopped immediately. Fire the czars. No more czars. Government officials answer to the process, not to the president. Stop trampling on our Constitution and honor it.

IV. Cap and trade

The debate on global warming is not over. There is more to say.

V. Universal healthcare

I will not be rushed into another expensive decision. Don't you dare try to pass this in the middle of the night and then go on break. Slow down!

VI. Growing government control

I want states rights and sovereignty fully restored. I want less government in my life, not more. Shrink it down. Mind your own business. You have enough to take care of with your real obligations. Why don't you start there.

VII. ACORN

I do not want ACORN and its affiliates in charge of our 2010 census. I want them investigated. I also do not want mandatory escrow fees contributed to them every time on every real estate deal that closes. Stop the funding to ACORN and its affiliates pending impartial audits and investigations.

I do not trust them with taking the census over with our taxpayer money. I don't trust them with our taxpayer money. Face up to the allegations against them and get it resolved before taxpayers get any more involved with them. If it walks like a duck and talks like a duck, hello. Stop protecting your political buddies. You work for us, the people. Investigate.

VIII. Redistribution of wealth

No, no, no. I work for my money. It is mine. I have always worked for people with more money than I have because they gave me jobs. That is the only redistribution of wealth that I will support. I never got a job from a poor person. Why do you want me to hate my employers? What do you have against shareholders making a profit?

IX. Charitable contributions

Although I never got a job from a poor person, I have helped many in need. Charity belongs in our local communities, where we know our needs best and can use our local talent and our local resources. Butt out, please. We want to do it ourselves.

X. Corporate bailouts

Knock it off. Sink or swim like the rest of us. If there are hard times ahead, we'll be better off just getting into it and letting the strong survive. Quick and painful. Have you ever ripped off a Band Aid? We will pull together. Great things happen in America under great hardship. Give us the chance to innovate. We cannot disappoint you more than you have disappointed us.

XI. Transparency and accountability

How about it? No, really, how about it? Let's have it. Let's say we give the buzzwords a rest and have some straight honest talk. Please try %u2011%u2011 please stop manipulating and trying to appease me with clever wording. I am not the idiot you obviously take me for. Stop sneaking around and meeting in back rooms making deals with your friends. It will only be a prelude to your criminal investigation. Stop hiding things from me.

XII. Unprecedented spending

Stop it now. Take a breath. Listen to the people.

Liberal Group creates Task Force "Bad Democrat" over Health Care

The Progressive Puke Brigade on the left is readying a full frontal assault on the Blue Dogs and other so-called "bad Democrats" that voted against the Health Care Bill.

From The Hill --
The Progressive Change Campaign Committee (PCCC) e-mailed supporters on Tuesday asking for funds to take on Blue Dogs and other "bad Democrats."

"They betrayed us on this core Democratic issue," PCCC co-founder Aaron Swartz wrote. "It's payback time."

"Blue Dog Democrats are wholly owned subsidiaries of corporate America, and they will pay a political price back home for putting their corporate contributors ahead of their constituents who want reform," said PCCC co-founder Adam Green.

I don't know how much stock I would put in the fact that the Blue Dogs voted against the bill for a government run health care bill because they were really against it. A much more probable reason would be that they were given a pass from Pelosi or that they more fearful of losing their House seats and heard the Tea Party Patriots & 9.12ers at the Town Hall meetings. Being somewhat biased, I believe it to be the latter.

More important than why these Blue Dogs voted against the House Health Care Reform -- is that they did! For us, the TPP's & 9.12ers, this means we need to hold these votes against the government take over of our health care if any Bill comes out of the Senate. If this happens then we must counter in full force and go back to concentrating on the Blue Dog's to shore up their support against the bill.

We must let the Blue Dogs know that Pelosi & the Progressives can't help them! Why? Because it is the conservatives, and now increasingly more everyday, the moderate Democrats and Independents in their districts that are against the job-killing government forced health care that may or may not reelect them -- NOT Nancy Pelosi or the Progressive Change Campaign Committee.

Obama vs President Lincoln

By Speak up America
From Facebook

President Obama once compared himself to President Lincoln and I do not see the comparison.

I am quoting the following powerful words from a book called "A Heart That Yearned For God" by G. Frederick Owen. You have the choice to continue reading wonderful information or chose to be a closed minded person and delete the following information, but I ask you to read.

President Lincoln's profound insight was shown in his "Ten Guidelines" not only went far in guiding him in administrative affairs, but also helped to stimulate the country's economic and social wellbeing.
Note the depth of wisdom couched in the ten lines:

You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift.

You cannot help small men by tearing down big men.

You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong.

You cannot lift the wage earner by pulling down the wage payer.

You cannot help the poor man by destroying the rich.

You cannot keep out of trouble by spending more than your income.

You cannot further brotherhood of men by inciting class hatred.

You cannot establish security on borrowed money.

You cannot build character and courage by taking away man's initiative and independence.

You cannot help men permanently by doing for them what they could and should do for themselves.

My fellow American's that are the front line of our new's should stand for what is right, not for what is popular.

Now tell me where our President compares to Lincoln!

Thank you for taking the time to read.

The "Freedom" CD

Hey all you patriots out there -- here is the "Freedom" loving CD you have all been waiting for!

Cleveland Tea Party Patriots co-coordinator Glynn Urban, along with her sister Adeena, her brother Noah, a rocker & recording engineer from Cleveland, and their pal C.J. teamed up with Ron Mason, a former Capitol Records country music recording artist, and recorded a CD named -- Freedom.

For those that were at out Tax Day Tea Party, Adeena & C.J. sang the Star Spangled Banner and America the Beautiful, which is also included on the CD. Rumor has it that they did such an outstanding job that the Canadians from across the lake must have heard it and gave them a standing ovation!

Ranging from God-loving patriotic tear jerker's, country music style innocence and rockin' kick-butt songs, Freedom is a must have collection of patriotic songs that are sure to make you reflect, sing-a-along and tap a toe!

With the political landscape of today, how fitting is it that there is a song called -- "Feeding at the Federal Trough"?
