Donald J. Trump's Statement On America’s Future

Whether you watched the Clinton Coronation ceremonies or not, you will not want to miss Mr. Trump’s response to the DNC this past week:

At Hillary Clinton’s convention this week, Democrats have been speaking about a world that doesn’t exist. A world where America has full employment, where there’s no such thing as radical Islamic terrorism, where the border is totally secured, and where thousands of innocent Americans have not suffered from rising crime in cities like Baltimore and Chicago.

In the Democrats’ fantasy world, there is no problem with Hillary Clinton maintaining an illegal, exposed server full of classified information that could have been hacked by any foreign enemy, and in which Hillary Clinton risked prison time to delete 33,000 emails that were simply about yoga and wedding planning. In this world, there is no Hillary Clinton disaster in Syria, Libya and Egypt, ISIS doesn’t merit a mention, Iran isn’t on the path to nukes, convention stages don’t need American flags, and our great men and women of law enforcement, our police, do not need to be honored.

I propose a different vision for America, one where we can break up Washington’s rigged system, and empower all Americans to achieve their dreams. In our vision, we will put America First.

If we deliver this change, the future is limitless and we will Make America Great Again for everyone.

Weather forecast for Philadelphia DNC Day 4 : Flash floods

cartoon by Gary Varvel at indystar.com

City officials are urging residents and Democratic National Convention demonstrators to take caution because of potential strong storms and the possibility of flash floods throughout the region today.
The flash flood watch begins at 2 p.m. and continues through Friday at 7 p.m.
Officials warn some of the storms may contain torrential rainfall and result in a localized flash flood threat.
Too bad the DNC isn't being held in the Phillies' ballpark.

Chaos and sleaze at the DNC

Note the barrier wall constructed around the stage

From the City of Brotherly Love's CBS local media:

At least one protester was captured on video lighting a flag on fire and waving it in the air, while many others shoved the perimeter fence as police pushed back. The seven arrested were all taken to the Philadelphia Federal Detention Center and will appear before a judge later Thursday. Philadelphia Police Commissioner Richard Ross commented on the incident:

“They were able to breach that fence. It’s kind of ridiculous in the sense that we were standing right there waiting for them. They see us. So, it’s not like it’s a surprise.”
Ross said, “It’s not like they thought they could get anywhere.”

Ross also spoke about the consequences saying, “They are now being charged with a federal offense.”
There are reports that one officer suffered minor injuries in the incident.
. . .
Earlier Wednesday, ten people were arrested after staging a sit-in at the Comcast Building in Center City.
The demonstrators chained themselves to a rolling gate for nearly an hour before being removed by police just before 1 p.m. The demonstrators were cited for obstruction and released.

Police say they issued 69 citations since the start of the DNC on Monday.

It may get even more chaotic this evening with Hillary’s acceptance speech.

As for The Sleaze Factor: Some commenters on FB and elsewhere have been waxing rhapsodic over President Bill Clinton’s keynote the other evening, you know, the one that "humanized" Hillary. In addition to the harrowing account of Juanita Broadderick’s encounter with him (the Breitbart story--  reviewing her testimony years ago to investigators for the Senate Judiciary Committee -- was linked on Drudge all day yesterday), this image is making the rounds:

Democratic National Convention and the Pledge of Allegiance

The Democratic National Convention is off to a chaotic start, and most Tea Party people will be following the outrageous headlines and reports at Drudge or other favorite aggregators. But this tweet deserves a bit of attention, just so we can keep our senses of humor:

[embiggen if necessary]

D'Souza is in the news these days as the writer of the just-released film Hillary's America: The Secret History of the Democratic Party

VP candidate Sen. Tim Kaine, the GOP, and the Uniparty

Richard Fernandez (Belmont Club at the PJ Media blogsite) has a good analysis of the GOP official website statement about Sen. Tim Kaine, Hillary’s pick for Vice President. Fernandez call it a “stunningly awful” statement, an almost GOP-lite endorsement of Kaine:

A Career Spent Taking Cautious Positions
Anathema To The Party's Liberal Base

. . . It is as if Reince told the interns to "Come up with something that makes Kaine as likable as possible to our people."

For Tea Party readers who have been following Sundance’s blogs at Conservative Treehouse over the past couple of years, the mushy GOP website statement on Kaine comes as no surprise. The GOP establishment, and party chairman Reince Priebus, are reluctant, at best, to support Trump’s candidacy. At worst, some of the GOPe are downright hostile to the Trump candidacy, as seen in the “Never Trump” delegates from Iowa and Colorado who marched out of the Republican National Convention in a huff.

For Tea Party people who have not heard of the terms “Uniparty” or “Splitter Strategy,” nor followed Sundance’s “Tripwire” predictions based on his “Uniparty” analyses, today’s blog on Conservative Treehouse here gives a handy summary. At the bottom of the article, you’ll find links to Sundance’s previous blog posts that outlined the “Uniparty” theory, linked to the new GOP primary rules state-by-state to define the “Splitter Strategy,” and then calculated the Tripwires or predictions that give credence to the Uniparty theory. It was the accuracy of the many predictions – in sequence – that persuaded many readers to change their minds about what was unfolding. Not politics as usual. (Maybe readers will want to bookmark the page to go through all the posts linked at the bottom, as time permits.)

Once readers recognized what the “Uniparty” was, the behavior of the political class, the donor class, and the media became more comprehensible, albeit more reprehensible. Scrolling through the reader comments at Treehouse can be helpful and even reassuring; it’s a bit unnerving when we find ourselves in such uncharted waters.
