Trump and voter values

art credit: oratv.com

The dinosaur media is having collective apoplexy over the recently released locker room remarks that Donald J. Trump made over 10 years ago, as a private citizen, in what he assumed was a private conversation. The faux outrage expressed by the media and the political elites in the Uniparty is laughable. Most of us have heard far worse, and if we don't like what we hear, we voice an objection, ignore it, or walk away.

And if I had to guess, since Miss Universe’s (Miss Piggy) complaints-for-hire about Trump were broadcast all over the place, and now we get the locker room remarks, well, there will probably be some more October surprises. And we can watch as more RINOs reach for their smelling salts while withdrawing their Trump endorsements. Looking at you Rob Portman.

But those in the Trump basket of Les Deplorables, vulgar as they are, don’t seem to need their smelling salts. Many reader comments posted to various websites reflect different values: voters prefer crude over corrupt. They may not like locker room sexual braggadocio, but they’ll take that over a candidate whose career is a litany of brazenly criminal actions. Trump’s words didn’t break any laws, get anybody killed, jeopardize American security, or destabilize the Middle East.

When Ted Cruz imploded at the RNC, mega-donors Robert and Rebekah Mercer withdrew their support for his campaign and transferred it to Donald J. Trump. Yesterday, following the media hysteria over Trump’s crude remarks, the Mercers reaffirmed their support for Trump. ICYMI, here is their statement (via The Washington Post):

“If Mr. Trump had told Billy Bush, whoever that is, earlier this year that he was for open borders, open trade, and executive actions in pursuit of gun control, we would certainly be rethinking our support for him. If he had admitted to Mr. Bush that he had profited privately by allowing the sale to Russia of 20% of US uranium deposits or that he had amassed his personal fortune not by hard work in the private sector but by selling favors to foreigners on the American taxpayers' dime, we would certainly be rethinking our support for him. If he had argued that he needed both a public and a private position on issues facing the American public, we would certainly be rethinking our support for him. And finally if Trump had serially terrorized and silenced the victims of violent sexual assault whom he feared could damage his political career, we would most definitely be rethinking our support for him.

“Donald Trump's uncensored comments, both old and new, have been echoed and dissected in the media repeatedly in an effort to kindle among his supporters a conflagration of outrage commensurate with the media's own faux outrage. Can anyone really be surprised that Mr. Trump could have said to Mr. Bush such things as he has already admitted saying? No. We are completely indifferent to Mr. Trump's locker room braggadocio.

“The same media that resolutely looked away when the most powerful man in the world, a sitting U.S. president with multiple violent sexual assaults to his credit, snared an impressionable young intern in his web and ruined her life, now expects us to gasp with revulsion at Mr. Trump's irreverent comments. America is finally fed up and disgusted with its political elite. Trump is channeling this disgust and those among the political elite who quake before the boombox of media blather do not appreciate the apocalyptic choice that America faces on November 8th. We have a country to save and there is only one person who can save it. We, and Americans across the country and around the world, stand steadfastly behind Donald J. Trump.”

Donald J. Trump's Statement On America’s Future

Whether you watched the Clinton Coronation ceremonies or not, you will not want to miss Mr. Trump’s response to the DNC this past week:

At Hillary Clinton’s convention this week, Democrats have been speaking about a world that doesn’t exist. A world where America has full employment, where there’s no such thing as radical Islamic terrorism, where the border is totally secured, and where thousands of innocent Americans have not suffered from rising crime in cities like Baltimore and Chicago.

In the Democrats’ fantasy world, there is no problem with Hillary Clinton maintaining an illegal, exposed server full of classified information that could have been hacked by any foreign enemy, and in which Hillary Clinton risked prison time to delete 33,000 emails that were simply about yoga and wedding planning. In this world, there is no Hillary Clinton disaster in Syria, Libya and Egypt, ISIS doesn’t merit a mention, Iran isn’t on the path to nukes, convention stages don’t need American flags, and our great men and women of law enforcement, our police, do not need to be honored.

I propose a different vision for America, one where we can break up Washington’s rigged system, and empower all Americans to achieve their dreams. In our vision, we will put America First.

If we deliver this change, the future is limitless and we will Make America Great Again for everyone.

Democrat Party budgets $800,000 to Disrupt RNC

photo from the San Jose Trump rally egg-throwing via YouTube

Jim Hoft at Gateway Pundit reports on the rent-a-mobs and paid activists’ plans to disrupt the upcoming Republican National Committee at Cleveland’s Quicken Arena, and they will be getting an early start. The protesters will start setting up operations next week on July 11. Hoft’s report reproduces a budget (click here) prepared by the Democrat Party that was hacked by Guccifer, and line items include a “wrapped bus for Bus Tour and Mobile Visibility” and billboards; they are obviously going for maximum media coverage in addition to attempts to interfere with the actual convention proceedings, meetings, etc. Hoft links to The Smoking Gun report with specific plans:

A copy of the plan was obtained by the hacker “Guccifer 2.0,” who breached party servers and made off with DNC financial records, e-mails, research reports, and other documents. In e-mails to TSG, “Guccifer 2.0” has claimed to be a Romanian “hacktivist,” though security researchers who have examined the DNC breach have said that the infiltration appears to be the work of a Russian espionage unit.

The DNC plan notes that the party’s efforts in Cleveland will cost in excess of $800,000. In addition to 16 staffers on the ground, the party will have numerous surrogates available for media interviews and an RV to “serve as a mobile billboard” and green room. The plan was honed when the GOP field narrowed to Donald Trump, Ted Cruz, and John Kasich. Subsequent updates focused primarily on “gimmicks” to ridicule Trump.
. . .
DNC officials also plan to “infiltrate friendly union hotels and properties around the convention that Republicans will be patronizing to distribute ‘care’ packages” to those who will be sickened by Trump’s nomination.
. . .
The production of an eight-page “Trump Tabloid” designed to look like the New York Post. The paper--“ideal for dumping oppo” research on the developer--would include a Trump-penned advice column entitled “How to Talk to Women.”
. . .
Producing milk cartons with the photos of the many GOP leaders who are skipping the convention.

Just harmless pranks and publicity stunts?  Cleveland Police Department and Secret Service personnel in Cleveland have been training to contain riots, prevent vandalism, assault, and other fine behavior we’ve seen at Trump rallies -- all committed by anti-Trumpers and paid protesters. I doubt that the DNC is budgeting at least $800,000 just to pull some Halloween pranks.

Branson, MO: Today at the Missouri Republican State Convention in Branson, Phyllis Schlafly, founder and chairman of Eagle Forum, was elected as a national delegate to the Republican National Convention in Cleveland, Ohio. Phyllis has participated in every convention since 1952.

“Politics is where the action is and the Republican Party is where we can make a difference. I am proud to be a Republican and attend our Conventions,” Schlafly said. “I look forward to joining other conservatives in Cleveland to pass our solid, conservative platform that includes a strong defense of the unborn, traditional marriage, and the American military superiority that has given us ‘peace through strength.’
. . .

“In Cleveland, I will proudly cast my vote for the next President of the United States of America, Mr. Donald J. Trump.”

Good to see Ms. Schlafly is still chairman of Eagle Forum, after the recent attempted coup.

Trump rallies in Ohio: just who are these protesters?

Branco cartoon credit: http://comicallyincorrect.com/

Gov. John Kasich criticized the Trump campaign for creating a “toxic” environment inthe GOP race for the presidential nomination, blaming the Trump campaign for the thug violence that resulted in a rally being postponed the other day in Chicago. But the thugs are the usual suspects:  MoveOn.org, Black Lives Matter, and Communists, among others (via Gateway Pundit).

At the Cleveland rally at the IX Center, protesters lined the access road into the parking lot, but a few made it past security and tried to disrupt the rally. They were thrown out, and Trump supporters chanted “Trump. Trump, Trump” while the thugs were removed. No violence.

As Trump said, it’s not Trump supporters who are disrupting rallies. It’s those who are supporting, in particular, Bernie Sanders.

The Cleveland rally for Trump can be viewed here or here.

Cleveland and other Ohio Tea Partiers were there and reported firsthand. And take a look at Cleveland Tea Party’s very own Ralph King backstage (below) with Mr. Trump.
