They’re coming for your lawn mower

Matt Vespa at Townhall reports:

The war on gas stoves is real, and we have emerged victorious for now. The left knows they can’t bum-rush this insane policy initiative to ban these kitchen appliances nationally, so they rolled it out slowly in California. The courts blocked it, paving the way for legal challenges to strike down similar attempts to ban gas stoves nationwide. But that doesn’t mean the environmental left has given up; their end game is to ban the internal combustion engine. So, they’re moving onto other devices.

While liberals tried to destroy our kitchens, they’ve now moved on to leaf blowers. No, I’m not kidding. Leaf blowers and lawnmowers could be the next items on the hit list to save Mother Earth.  . . .

And all this is hypocritical:

Another aspect of these new local ordinances against efficiency is that they’ve grandfathered in those who already own gas-powered lawnmowers and landscaping equipment, so spare us the saving the planet nonsense. What’s the point? It’s about control and the left being nuisances and busybodies about what we do in our homes. . .

Climate change hysteria

At American Thinker, Andrea Widburg puts climate change hysteria -- i.e., the probable next global "emergency" -- in a historical perspective.  Here’s an extract:

Democrats hope Biden uses the climate
to take over and destroy the economy

We've already seen how Biden's initial attacks on our energy industry, through the executive orders he signed on his first days in office, have created a rolling economic disaster.  When energy prices skyrocket, all prices skyrocket.

. . .

the only thing separating our modern era from the pre-modern era is fossil fuel.

When we watch period pieces on TV or in movie theaters (anything about Jane Austen or the tawdry Bridgerton series, for example), the pre-modern world looks lovely: it's all pastoral vistas; politely curtseying maids; abundant food; and brilliantly colored, gorgeous clothes.

In fact, the past was nothing like that.  The 1% experienced those benefits.  The rest of the people lived horrible, short lives.

Everything that needed to be done had only four energy sources to make it happen: human energy, animal energy, limited water energy, and equally limited wind energy.  The reason for slavery was that human energy was the easiest to obtain and exploit, which is why slavery has been a dominant factor in human history for all but the last 200 years.

. . .

It was only by the mid-19th century, as fossil fuel began shaping a new middle class, that an increasing number of people began to have abundant food and clothes, even if they weren't as pretty as those seen in a Hollywood movie.  And it was only after WWII, in an era of abundant fossil fuel, that we finally had a world of plenty that saw more people than at any other time in history live long, comfortable lives.

This is what Biden plans to end with a stroke of a pen. . . .

Good News about COVID-19

Thomas T. Siler, M.D. has a very good column at American Thinker.  He opens with this:

Now that we have had 18 months to “slow the spread” it is time to take stock of the pandemic. We have learned many good things that the media and our pandemic managers rarely report. Most fundamentally, we do not need to be afraid of COVID-19 anymore. The media and some government health authorities are still pushing hysteria and fear, but that should not prevail.

And he closes his column with:

We do not need to be afraid of COVID-19 anymore. Let’s begin to end the hysteria and fear. The worst is over and we are transitioning to endemic status which means a low level of cases and deaths.

We will have many fewer deaths if we start to treat the infection early now with the available outpatient treatments. We should resist further attempts at lockdowns and mask mandates as neither worked. We know exactly whom to protect—the elderly and those with chronic health problems. That’s where we should concentrate our energies.

Thankfully, children have very little risk and do not need masks at school or vaccinations. Variants will come but will not send us back into a situation like last year.

Can our pandemic managers take some of this useful information and transform it into helpful public health policies from this point forward? Or is there another agenda behind unending hysteria, fear, and the constant push for 100% vaccination? That remains to be seen. For now, let's celebrate the good news.

Dr. Siler’s column is here.  As to his closing question: “is there another agenda behind unending hysteria, fear, and the constant push for 100% vaccination?”  Well, here’s the photograph from Australia that we posted the other day:

Say No to the Lockdowns and the Mask “mandates”

Shane Trejo at Big League Politics reports:

Heroic Dr. Scott Atlas Demands That ‘People Rise Up’ Against
Next Round of COVID-19 Lockdowns

Dr. Scott Atlas, the Hoover Institute senior fellow who has emerged as President Trump’s most trusted COVID-19 advisor, is urging for the people to “rise up” against the next round of lockdowns supposedly meant to combat the pandemic.

[Dr. Atlas tweets: The only way this stops is if people rise up. You get what you accept. #FreedomMatters #StepUp]

Atlas has become the bane of medical establishment because he has refused to succumb to the fear mongering pushed by the fake news media and other anti-American shills.

He has squared off against the infamous Dr. Anthony Fauci, the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases director who once used taxpayer money to fund Chinese mad science at the infamous Wuhan Institute.

Big League Politics has reported on how Atlas’ courage is drawing the ire of globalist agent and CDC director Robert Redfield for refusing the mass hysteria narrative set by Big Pharma and technocratic ghouls like Bill Gates:

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) director is reportedly angry with White House COVID-19 task force advisor Dr. Scott Atlas for refusing to buy into the mass hysteria regarding the never-ending pandemic.

CDC director Robert Redfield wants to make sure that Americans do not go back to regular life anytime soon, telling Americans that they will be living under mass hysteria for awhile longer.

“We’re nowhere near the end,” Redfield said. About Dr. Atlas, Redfield reportedly said: “Everything he says is false.”

. . .

No, Dr. Scott Atlas is speaking the truth.  Redfield and Fauci are the villains in the piece.  Read the complete article here.  Let's hope that Gov. DeWine does not follow in MI Governor Whitmer's footsteps.  We would look forward to maskless protests.

Reasons to Stop Freaking Out About Coronavirus

Joel B. Pollak at Breitbart has some public service comments on the media hysteria over the Coronavirus. Here’s the beginning:

Coronavirus is an “info-demic,” a panic caused by the spread of partial and often misleading information about a health risk, sometimes deliberately.

The virus is real, and a small number of people have been infected. But it is going to pass.

It is an unpleasant respiratory illness, but it is not an organ-destroying horror like Ebola. Precautions are being taken, a vaccine will emerge, and life will continue as usual.

Here are five specific reasons to chill out.

1. Coronavirus is a familiar illness, and not as bad as others. It is from the SARS family — and less deadly. As Ha’aretz noted, “the mortality rate from the current disease ranges from 0.5 to 2 percent, and is significantly lower than the mortality rate from the 2002 SARS outbreak (9.5 percent) and much lower than the 2012 SARS outbreak (34.4 percent). It may even be close to the mortality rate from an ordinary flu outbreak in the United States.”

2. The U.S. response has been exceptionally good. There have only been 16 cases thus far, none deadly. . . .

Pollak’s additional 3 reasons are here.

If you are following the tiered and strategic deployment of COVID-19 hype, you’ll note the next round of heavy artillery (the WHO/CDC have been saving) is the announcement of an official global “pandemic status” being reached.  That will be worth a week of panic media and perhaps another thousand point drop for U.S. stock market.
