Tea Party Patriots: Border States of America Documentary Re-Broadcast (Tonight)

This past Thursday, October 16, Tea Party Patriots released a new documentary, “Border States of America.” Narrated by actor Nick Searcy, the documentary will take viewers for a ride along the U.S-Mexico border and expose the many consequences of rampant illegal immigration.

This hard-hitting documentary features interviews with Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL), and Reps. Steve King (R-IA) and Louie Gohmert (R-TX), as well as dozens of law enforcement officials. The point the documentary drives home is this: illegal immigration extends beyond the thousands of minors from Central America, and its consequences are far-reaching and affect every American.

The Border States of America takes viewers from the Rio Grande Valley to towns across the country, telling the story of human smugglers and drug cartels who profit from Obama’s policies; of American citizens whose lives are put at risk; and the social and economic toll on our communities. We cut through the fog to bring you the truth about what is really happening with the border crisis.

Because of the demand and overwhelming support, Tea Party Patriots will be re-broadcasting "Border States of America" tonight Saturday October 18th at 7:30pm EDT

Texas Tea Party Leaders Expose Governor Rick Perry over Lack of Action on Texas Border Plan

In the same way some conservatives living outside New Jersey were initially duped with a few YouTube videos and conservative sounding sound bytes into liking New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, we see the same case with many conservatives living outside of Texas gushing over Governor Rick Perry.

Perry, throwing on a pair of glasses in attempts to make himself look presidential, acting tough by sending the TX National Guard to the border for some good media coverage and making the rounds of the Sunday morning talking head shows, may have fooled those outside Texas, but not those living inside Texas.

Below you will read how the grassroots conservative groups and Tea Party activists, have pulled back the curtain and exposed Perry to be a tough talking phony like the Wizard of Oz instead of the Governor of Texas -

From Breibart -- (Emphasis Added)

AUSTIN, Texas — Thursday at the Texas Capitol, a group of grassroots tea party activists gathered for a press conference to share the “Texas Border Crisis Action Plan” they had created after years of frustration with a government that they characterized as “criminally negligent in their duties.”

Speakers included JoAnn Fleming, the Executive Director of Grassroots America, Dale Huls, a board member of the Clear Lake TEA Party and Texas Border Volunteer, Mary Huls, the President of the Clear Lake TEA Party and Texas Border Volunteer, George Rodriguez, the South Texas coordinator for TEA Party Patriots and the President of the South Texas Political Alliance, Dwayne Stovall, the Director of Keep Texas Free, LLC and School Board Trustee for the Tarkington Independent School District, and Heidi Theiss, Vice President of the Clear Lake TEA Party and League City Council Member.

Several of these grassroots activists, including Fleming, had participated in an earlier press conference at the Capitol, back in July, where they laid out their frustration with both federal and state elected officials, requested Texas Governor Rick Perry and Attorney General Greg Abbott to call up the National Guard, and asked for Perry to call a special session of the Texas Legislature to address border issues. To date, Texas officials have not been receptive to the idea of a special session, but just a few days after their July press conference, Perry announced he was deploying 1,000 National Guard troops to the border.

Fleming and Dale Huls were the primary authors of the Texas Border Crisis Action Plan, which is available online at Grassroots America’s website. According to a statement released by the group:

The plan describes the roles the Governor, Attorney General, and the Legislature should play in framing a constitution-based justification for Texas securing its border. The plan stakes out the role state leaders should play in developing the proper mission for an effective border security effort and in making provision for necessary funding for the Department of Public Safety, the Texas National Guard, and the Texas Military (as defined by the Texas Constitution) to actually secure the Texas border with Mexico.

Fleming gave introductory remarks at the press conference, and outlined the long-standing frustration she and her fellow tea party leaders have with not just the federal government, but also the state government. “This country is spiraling out of control,” Fleming said, because we have abandoned the rule of law and are failing to protect our borders. She stated that she supported immigration, but emphasized that immigrants needed to come to this country legally, entering through one of the 29 legal ports of entry in Texas.

All of the activists who were there to speak at the press conference had visited the border in a trip organized by Breitbart Texas , Fleming explained. They had taken pains to make sure that “it was not a dog and pony show” for them, as they had visited not just the Rio Grande Valley sector that had gotten so much media attention, but also the Laredo Sector. Fleming noted that the RGV sector was the only sector that had an increased level of personnel, but it was “most assuredly” not yet secure.

Fleming advocated for Texas to refuse to participate in the federal “catch and release” immigration policies, where illegal immigrants are released into the United States with little more than some paperwork setting a hearing date months or even years into the future. “When is it going to be enough?” asked Fleming, citing the high cost burden of illegal immigration on Texas and the Border Patrol agents who had lost their lives in the line of duty.

Dale Huls spoke next, and shared how he was “outraged” that his state government had failed to adequately take action in response to the border crisis, and he asked why the task of creating an action plan had fallen to “regular people” like himself. “In their own words, they have called this an emergency situation,” said Huls, sharing his view that many Texas elected officials had delivered sharp speeches blaming the federal government but failed to act to implement any substantive ideas that were, in fact, within their control

Huls was especially frustrated that he felt their demands for a special session had been dismissed or even flat out rejected. “We expected leadership,” he said, and called the refusal to call a special session “shocking.” The goal of the group, Huls explained, was to “remove the shield of ignorance” behind which our elected officials were hiding. “If something bad happens in our state, don't just blame the federal government…we [will] hold our state leaders accountable.”

Rodriguez, a fifth generation Texan, spoke next. He too was frustrated with current immigration policies and the humanitarian crises they were created. “We can’t be the orphanage for the rest of the world, we can’t be the ATM for the rest of the world,” said Rodriguez. “This border has been open since 1848 and we haven't done a darn thing about it,” he added, and the world is not what it was in 1848

Mary Huls spoke next to address the moral issues related to the their plan and the border crisis, which she described as “this really is a humanitarian issue.” She called the sympathy-inducing photos of the unaccompanied minors “a distraction,” noting as others have that the children are no more than twenty percent of those crossing the border, and they are providing cover for dangerous criminals.

“Texas’ heart does go out to the children,” she said, but it is impossible to separate the good from the bad without a secure border. Huls described the many women and children who end up killed, raped, molested, forced into sexual slavery, and so on. She then said that our current system ended up enabling all these horrifying crimes by providing not just a “magnet” of jobs and social welfare that encourages people to come, but also by releasing unaccompanied alien children to “sponsors” who are supposed to be relatives and family friends, but little was done to verify their identities. “How do we know who the people are who come to pick them up at the detention centers? …Are we selling these kids into a life of sex slavery?”

Theiss, a local elected official from League City, has lived in Mexico in the past, near the border with Belize. She told how she saw how strictly Mexico used to enforce its border, witnessing first hand scared Guatemalan immigrants running and hiding from Mexican authorities. Now, however, Mexico is actively encouraging and expediting traffic from Central America to Texas. Central Americans are given medical care, supplies, and a free travel visa to journey through Mexico, provided that they continue to American and do not try to stay in Mexico.

“The free flow of traffic is coming directly into Texas,” said Theiss, and the surge of immigrants we’ve seen so far this year is “going to be dwarfed,” with Mexico continuing to expand this program.

Theiss then had sharp words to critique Texas government officials. “We have a state government that is negligent, criminally negligent, in their duties,” she said. They campaigned on rule of law, she said, put on a tough act, but “they've failed in every regard” to actually address the broader border issues.

“Shame on the governor and all the way down,” said Theiss.

Stovall began his remarks by citing the rising cost of illegal immigrants to the state of Texas: from $8.9 billion in 2010, to $12 billion in 2013. By failing to take action to solve the problem, Texas government officials were essentially “accomplices” to the criminal activity associated with the border crisis.

Fleming then shared more details about how their plan was created and its key points. The Border Patrol agents are “begging the American people to stand up for them and let them do their jobs,” she said, but “what our state government is doing is not going to solve the problem.”

The main authority for what Flemings’ group hopes the state will do is Article I, Section 10, Clause 3 of the United States Constitution, which states: "No State shall, without the Consent of Congress, lay any Duty of Tonnage, keep Troops, or Ships of War in time of Peace, enter into any Agreement or Compact with another State, or with a foreign Power, or engage in War, unless actually invaded, or in such imminent Danger as will not admit of delay.” They want Perry to invoke the constitutional authority and declare a state of imminent danger in Texas from what is essentially an invasion of people streaming across our border.

Again, they did not want to wait for the regular 2015 session to start, but called for immediate action, partly through executive orders for items under the authority of the Governor of Texas, and a special session of the legislature to address all others.

Key recommendations in the Texas Border Crisis Action Plan:
  • Form a “Texas military border brigade” from DPS officers, activating the National Guard, and authorizing extra funding from sources like the Rainy Day Fund and eliminating business incentives like the Texas Enterprise Fund, subsidies to Formula 1, etc.
  • Fortify border security by adding fences, electronic monitoring technology, and boots on the ground.
  • Stop providing social welfare services to illegal immigrants.
  • End “sanctuary cities.”
  • Prevent illegal immigrant children from attending Texas schools.
  • Increase criminal penalties for employing illegal workers, especially for repeat offenders.
  • Stop following the federal “catch and release” policies, but because of the declared emergency, hold illegal immigrants in jail until they can be returned to their home country.

Thoughts on Labor Day

Thoughts on Labor Day from Marianne G., Mansfield Tea Party:

Because the history of Labor Day is no longer taught, it is relatively unknown these days.

The first Labor Day was held in 1882. Its origins stem from the desire of the Central Labor Union to create a holiday for workers (I guess regular holidays weren't enough). It became a federal holiday in 1894, thanks to President Grover Cleveland.

It was originally intended that the day would be filled with a street parade to allow the public to appreciate the work of the trade and labor organizations.

Notice the last sentence - "appreciate the work of the trade and labor organizations".  It was not to show appreciation for the laborer, but to pay homage to the labor organizations.

It is these same labor organizations that have turned their back on workers by supporting illegal immigration.  The influx of illegal immigrants will destroy the wage of the American worker, and destroy the middle class - the very people the unions are supposedly protecting!

Where are the labor organizations now?  Why aren't they fighting for American jobs rather than supporting cheap, illegal labor for their big business cronies?

I think we all know the answer.  It's not about the laborer, it's about the leaders and their pockets.

Labor Day Special: Democrats Support of Illegal Immigrants is War on U.S. Workers!

As we routinely hear how the Democrats support U.S. workers, in the below article & video link, a former liberal clearly shows the Democrats desire of amnesty for illegal immigrants is clearly a War on U.S. workers.  (Click to watch video)

From The Daily Caller --

As Labor Day looms, President Obama’s immigration policy looks to become a war on American workers. Without prioritizing who’s allowed to come to America, former liberal Ann Corcoran says “the American worker loses. The numbers are too high. We can’t assimilate this many people.”

Marylander Ann Corcoran, who says she was “tea party” before the movement existed, has written a daily blog, as a volunteer activist, at Refugee Resettlement Watch for the last seven years to inform and engage citizens.

Refugee Resettlement Watch is a small but growing daily blog focused on how the government has resettled over 3 million refugees since 1975. Without any financial backing, she is doing what the media and Congress have failed to do – tracking how a federal program is functioning. Corcoran, who has published over 2,500 posts now, says “the open border left wants no borders.” And those involved with resettling refugees with the U.N. and Washington want no scrutiny of this program.

American-bound refugees are selected by the U.N. Then the State Department and the HHS Office of Refugee Resettlement, are tasked to operate with nine major federal contractors who monopolize the program and contract work to 300 subcontractors to place refugees throughout the nation. According to Corcoran, HHS has now identified growing “pockets of resistance.” Ever vigilant, HHS sends another contractor, “Welcoming America,” to set communities’ “minds right.”

In this 22 minute video interview, Corcoran discusses what might surprise most citizens about this federal program. Specifically, she discusses how church groups are being paid lucratively — by refugee — to do charitable work, the U.N.’s dominant role in our refugee program and the lack of substantive consultation with states and cities about these immigrants. (Click here to watch video)

With all the persecution of Christians going on in the world today, you would think the largest Christian contractor would ask the government to only allow Christians for a time period. Yet, Corcoran says she was “shocked to hear the representative for the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops testify at the State Department for more Burmese Muslims next year.”

With a watchful eye on how communities are reacting to new refugees, Corcoran mentions in this interview Dover, NH; Salt Lake City, UT; Nashville, TN; Amarillo, TX; Springfield, MA; and Athens, GA.

Lastly, she gives advice on what citizens can do and shares her ideas on how to reform the program, such as ensuring communities can request economic and social impact statements along with public hearings.

Cuyahoga County Council Candidate John Currid Calls on Sunny Simon to Prevent County Funds From Being Used For Federal Relocation of Illegal Immigrants

Cuyahoga County Council candidate for District 11, John Currid, has challenged the incumbent Sunny Simon to put the concerns and well being of Cuyahoga County citizens first by preventing any county funds or services being used to facilitate or support any attempts of the federal government to relocate illegal immigrants in Cuyahoga County.

Simon, who has previously stated that "she does not care how county spending will impact resident's lives," has yet to respond....

From Cuyahoga County Council Candidate John Currid --

Cuyahoga County Council nominee John J. Currid called on Councilwoman Sunny Simon to introduce legislation to prevent county funds or resources from being used to support federal relocation of illegal immigrants. He is concerned that the United States government would relocate illegal immigrants to Cuyahoga County in a similar fashion to what has been done in other areas. His concern is heightened by the fact that Cleveland has a Federal Immigration Court.

Mr. Currid recently sent Ms. Simon a letter calling on her to to introduce legislation that would prevent county funds from being appropriated to support illegal immigrants that would be relocated to Cuyahoga County by either the federal government or private “hosting/fostering” organizations. The proscription would include the use of any county resources, including personnel, for such purposes.

Currid stated: “The federal government has failed in its mission on the southern border, and that burden should not be shifted to states, counties, and cities. As the nominee to represent the people of the Eleventh District of Cuyahoga County, I feel a responsibility to ensure that the children, elderly, and families of this county are our first priority. I have asked the councilwoman to join me in this effort to immediately ensure the residents she was elected to represent are her number one priority as well.”

While the underlining issue is immigration, candidate Currid made it clear that his request of Ms. Simon comes from a broader concern about the use of limited resources, and the prioritization of the residents of Cuyahoga County over illegal immigrants. He believes that immigration is a federal issue, and one in which the county has no role. Unfortunately, in too many instances, the federal government transfers the financial burden of its failed policies to local and state governments. By being proactive and passing this legislation, Currid believes Cuyahoga County will be in front of an important issue, and will protect the use of the county’s limited resources for local county residents.

Currid believes, “diverting resources or funds away from needy children or families at this critical time would be both irresponsible and unacceptable.”

County Council candidate for District 11 John Currid should be applauded for his speaking out, standing up and putting the citizens of Cuyahoga County first.

Now let's see what County Councilwoman Sunny Simon says!

Is Simon willing to stand up for the citizens she was elected to represent? Or will Simon simply remain silent, giving tacit approval, of supporting and putting illegal immigrants over the Cuyahoga County citizens of District 11 she was elected to represent?

Cuyahoga County Residents Need to be First Priority

From Cuyahoga County Council Candidate John Currid --

There is a crisis on our southern border and although we watch the news coverage from afar, I fear a situation where the failure of Washington, D.C. will have a dramatic impact right here in Cuyahoga County. This is why I recently wrote a letter to Councilwoman Sunny Simon asking her to immediately introduce legislation that would prevent county funds, resources, or personnel from being used to support a federal relocation program of illegal immigrants. Although the Councilwoman and I are opponents in November, I felt we needed to stand together on this issue. While we might disagree on many issues, making Cuyahoga County residents our priority should be one we can agree.

So what does this have to do with Cuyahoga County and its residents? The federal government could relocate some of illegal immigrants to Cuyahoga County to utilize the Federal Immigration Court located in Cleveland or for some other unrelated reason. Recently in Tennessee their governor only became aware of thousands of illegal immigrants relocated to his state after the fact through news reports. The federal government is bussing illegal immigrants to counties and states nationwide especially to states currently facing real hardships. I recently watched a report identifying four relocation locations in Michigan; meanwhile the state’s largest city, Detroit, is under state control, is in default, and going through bankruptcy. The city’s public water service is $6 Billion in debt and almost 100,000 accounts are past due. While I do not condone the past due balances any resources or funds the city, county or state might have should go to secure basic civil services for low-income families who could soon go without water or sewer service instead the state is now burdened with the federal governments own failure.

I want to ensure that if the federal government does relocate illegal immigrants here in our county, it is clear that Cuyahoga County is not left paying the cost or diverting resources away from the mission of serving the county residents. As I travel through the six cities in the eleventh district of Cuyahoga County, I hear many wonderful stories of hope and success. However, it is also apparent that many of our neighborhoods have seen misfortunate and are going through tough times. The children, the elderly, and the low-income residents of Cuyahoga County deserve our undivided attention. We have our own crisis occurring on many streets, in schools, and throughout many neighborhoods of this county. Anything short of our undivided attention would be irresponsible and not acceptable.

The people who are on the front lines of serving the needy and under-privileged children and families of Cuyahoga County are members of the faith community, non-profit leaders, and other local leaders. When I meet with them one of the first concerns they share with me relates to the delays, red tape, and inefficiencies they face when working with county departments. While I believe the county is working hard to provide better services to its residents, we have a lot of work to do; now is not the time to redirect resources away from these departments.

I want to be clear, this is not an issue about immigration; this is an issue about county resources and county residents. In my opinion, elected officials of Cuyahoga County government should make you, the residents, their first priority when allocating resources and funds. While the overall immigration situation is a crisis and deserves our full attention, immigration is ultimately a federal issue. Senators Portman & Brown as well as our local Congressman or Congresswoman are the folks we should be addressing those opinions. For this specific issue I am calling on Councilwoman Simon to stand with me and prioritize the children and families of this county above illegal immigrants should the federal government attempt to pass off their responsibility.

LETTER I SENT TO COUNCILWOMAN SUNNY SIMON

Steve King Owns "DREAMERS" / Rand Paul Runs Away [VIDEO]

Rep. Steve King owned these two DREAMERS who clearly do not understand, do not want to understand and do not respect the laws of our country.

And it should be noted, as pointed out in Wayne's comments below - Senator Rand Paul slid away and abandoned King with the DREAMERS.

From Wayne Dupree --

Great job by GOP Rep. Steve King!

He was ambushed by two “DREAMERS” while eating during an event, along with GOP Sen. Rand Paul. The two shook hands with King and Paul, and then launched into their diatribe. Rand Paul melted away almost immediately, leaving King to deal with the two on his own. He held up very well. He calmly, politely listened to their statements and questions, and answered them all. They were hoping to embarrass him and get him to say or do something they could use against him. They didn’t get what they wanted!

Statement by Senators McCain, Graham, Rubio & Flake on Senate Leader Harry Reid's Comments on Immigration Reform

You know the border crisis is serious when you have three of the GOP Senate members known for being weak on illegal immigration, Senator McCain, Senator Lindsey Graham and Senator Marco Rubio speaking out against it.

But they say nothing about trying to stop President Obama's threat to wield his magic pen and issue an Executive Order Amnesty for the border jumpers illegally entering our country.

And notably missing from the growing chorus of "convenent conservatives" speaking out against Obama's border BS is Ohio's own Senator Rob "I Love Illegals too" Portman.

From Senator John McCain --
Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senators John McCain (R-AZ), Lindsey Graham (R-SC), Marco Rubio (R-FL), and Jeff Flake (R-AZ) today issued the following statement on Majority Leader Harry Reid’s comments today regarding legislation to address the humanitarian crisis on the border:

“Last year, we voted to pass immigration reform legislation through the United States Senate. While we continue to support the goals of comprehensive immigration reform, none of us would support – or have ever contemplated – including that bill or the DREAM Act in legislation urgently needed this year to address the current humanitarian crisis on our southern border. It is obvious that Majority Leader Reid’s suggestion that the Senate could include comprehensive immigration reform in its border crisis bill is a blatant attempt to scuttle House Republicans’ good-faith efforts to pass legislation addressing the issue this week.

To be clear: Without our support – which he would not have – it would be impossible for Leader Reid to add comprehensive immigration reform or the DREAM Act to any border crisis bill this week. We encourage our colleagues in the House to move forward and pass legislation focused exclusively on addressing the current humanitarian crisis on the border, and finally test whether Democrats will work constructively with Republicans to solve this humanitarian crisis on our border, or play politics with an issue of urgent national importance.”

Action Alert: Stop President Obama's Border Bailout & Executive Order Amnesty!

This week, the House of Representatives is considering taking action on the President's request for $3.7 billion to deal with the border crisis. We need to urge them to say no to any funding unless they end the President's executive amnesty.

This is simply another case of Washington throwing more money at a problem as an attempt to solve it. Let's face it, as long as the President's Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program is in effect the influx of illegal immigrants will continue. And with the President's commitment to issue some kind of executive amnesty before November, we must tell Congress to say no!

Senators Ted Cruz (TX) and Jeff Sessions (AL) are leading the effort to stop the President's plans for executive amnesty and we need to give them back up by flooding the phones in Congress this week. Click here to read.

Take Action

Sessions Calls On All Colleagues To Block President’s Planned Amnesty & Work Permits

American people will not be mocked. They have begged and pleaded for our nation's immigration law to be enforced for 30 or 40 years… The politicians have refused, refused, refused, refused. The American public defeated amnesty after amnesty after amnesty and they will not sit back and allow the president to implement through unlawful fiat…

In effect, the President is preparing to assume for himself the absolute power to set immigration law in America.  The absolute power to determine who may enter and who may work—not matter what the law says—by the millions… The American people will fight this.  They will resist… So I am calling on all Members of Congress today to stand up to the President’s lawless actions and sponsor legislation to block [these actions].  I am calling on all Members of Congress today to oppose any border supplemental that does not include such language.  I am calling on every person in this body, and in the House, to stand and be counted at this perilous hour.  I am calling on the American people to phone their representative and ask them: where do you stand?

All of us were elected by citizens to serve them and their constitution.  Will we answer that call?  Where will history record you stood at this hour?”

Sheriff from Ohio Sends Bill to Mexican President for Illegal Immigrants in his County Jail: Fed's tell him - "Back Off!"

In the below post Dana Loesch interviewed Butler County Sheriff Richard Jones regarding all the illegals in his county jail.  The crowding of illegals will only get worse, not only in the Butler County jail, but county jails across Ohio if the federal government is allowed to ship the illegal border crossers to our state.

Butler County Sheriff Richard Jones should be applauded for speaking out and putting the social & fiscal well-being and safety of Butler County residents first.

Also, in asking that the fiscal & social well-being and safety of all Ohio residents be put first, Tea Party & Liberty groups across Ohio have sent a letter to Governor Kasich asking him to resist & refuse any federal relocation attempts of illegal immigrants in our state.

An Ohio Citizens Petition asking Governor Kasich to resist & refuse
any federal relocation attempts of illegal immigrants in our state is also being circulated. Click here to sign the Ohio Citizens Petition.

From The Blaze --

Butler County Sheriff Richard Jones said Friday that he sent a letter to Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto, charging him for all the illegals in his jail.

What happened next? The Ohio sheriff told Dana Loesch: “The federal government sends me a letter and said I violated a treaty of like, 1790.”

When Loesch asked for more information, Jones continued: “I sent him a bill for the prisoners that are in my jail. They came here illegally. I’ve not gotten any money from them, but I billed them so much. And I’ll tell you what I got in return: my life was threatened.”

Jones said he got a call from the FBI saying there were three sheriffs in the country that were going to be killed by the drug cartels, and he was one of the three.

Jones has also written a letter to President Barack Obama, “asking and pleading with him not to bring these people here to the state of Ohio, and to secure our borders.”

“We’ve had horrendous crimes here in this community,” Jones said. “We had a senior citizen, an elderly lady, molested by a teenager that came over from Mexico. We had another one molested — an eight year old girl. We’ve had drugs pouring in, more so than before the government said the borders were sealed. And we’re being run over by the drug dealers coming to this community. The violence has increased, and we’re a long way from the borders.”

Jones said his county spends eight to ten million dollars each month on welfare programs, which he called “free stuff,” and said that’s “some of the reason that they come here.”

“It’s a terrible, terrible tragedy,” Jones said. “People’s lives are being threatened. It’s in the state of Ohio, for crying out loud. We’re not in Arizona; we’re not in California.”

Jones said the administration is making it “too easy” for those wishing to harm America to cross into the United States.

“They’re going to walk in with backpacks. They’re going to put some dirty bombs together, [and] they’re going to do something really terrible. It’s too easy,” Jones said. “We don’t know who they are. They don’t have vaccinations. Our jails are full. They hit and run. It’s totally out of control, and it’s gotten worse just in the past twelve months.”

Senator Ted Cruz: Need to Stop Obama's Amnesty and Give Governors Options to Mitigate Illegals

INTRODUCES PROTECT CHILDREN AND FAMILIES THROUGH THE RULE OF LAW ACT

July 24, 2014 (202) 228-7561

WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, today introduced the Protect Children and Families Through the Rule of Law Act, which includes measures that would stop President Obama’s amnesty, reform the William Wilberforce Trafficking Victims Protection Act, and empower governors to utilize the National Guard to address this specific crisis at federal expense, including authority to arrest violators of federal immigration, drug trafficking, human trafficking, and terrorism laws.

“The current situation in the Rio Grande Valley is a humanitarian crisis of this Administration’s making. President Obama set the stage for this crisis by refusing to live up to his most basic responsibility to secure our border, imposing huge human and financial costs on border communities and on immigrants who come here illegally,” Sen. Cruz said. “He has also sent a message to the world that the United States is not serious about enforcing its immigration laws by lawlessly granting amnesty through the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals Program. To solve this problem, we must put a stop to President Obama’s amnesty and give governors all options possible to mitigate this crisis in light of the federal government’s inaction.”

Sen. Cruz’s bill would specifically:
  • Prevent the expansion of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program (DACA) by preventing any taxpayer funds from being used to consider or adjudicate any new or previously denied application under DACA or a similar successor program.
  • The facts demonstrate that DACA is a significant motivating factor for the number of Central American children being handed over to violent criminals and taking the dangerous journey to enter the United States illegally.
  • Yet, President Obama has announced his intention to expand DACA and grant amnesty to even more immigrants who entered the country illegally. In recent months, he has asked DHS Secretary Jeh Johnson and Attorney General Eric Holder to provide him with justifications for more executive actions, and he has promised pro-illegal immigration groups that he will expand DACA to cover 5 to 6 million more immigrants who entered the country illegally.
  • Reform the William Wilberforce Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act so that unaccompanied minors can be expeditiously united with their families back home.
  • Under current law, unaccompanied minors are being released to purported relatives with just a promise to appear later for deportation proceedings. Often they do not appear and, if they do, the removal proceedings can delay reunion to their family back home by years.
  • This bill would protect the safety of these children and ensure their attendance at a new, expedited hearing within seven days of the child’s processing. This expedited process is designed to protect against human trafficking, preserve due process for those who have a legitimate claim to asylum or other relief, and facilitate expeditious return of those children who are ineligible to stay to their families in the country of origin.
  • Take steps to ensure that State and local officials have the resources necessary to protect the people in their communities, enabling them to act on their own to secure the border.
  • This bill would empower governors to utilize the National Guard at federal expense to address the current deluge of unaccompanied minors until the number of such arrivals return to pre-crisis levels.
  • It would also provide the National Guard with authority to arrest violators of federal immigration, drug trafficking, human trafficking, and terrorism laws.

American Citizens First
Ohio Tea Party Groups say "Well Being of Ohio Citizens Should Come First"

Ohio - July 17, 2014 - Democrat and Republican Governors around the country are refusing to accept the social and financial burden created by this administration's open border philosophy.

This is why, as Ohio State Coordinators for Tea Party Patriots, we gladly join in support of the over 30 Tea Party and Liberty groups from Ohio, in calling for Governor Kasich to stand strong and resist any attempts by the federal government to relocate the current influx of illegal immigrants, thereby creating a border crisis in Ohio. (Letter attached as PDF)

"Our education and healthcare systems, in all states, are already overburdened, and now taxpayers are being told they are to support the healthcare, education, care and feeding of illegal aliens, because our government refuses to put a stop to the migration, "stated Marianne Gasiecki, Founder of the Mansfield Tea Party and State Co-coordinator for Tea Party Patriots-Ohio. "Now they want to force their failure on the states. Perhaps President Obama should take a lesson from Prime Minister Netanyahu, and put the people of his own country before others."

"The constant claiming of the Democrats and President Obama that they support the middle class, the working poor, etc... rings hollow," said Ralph King, Founder of the Cleveland Tea Party Patriots and fellow State Co-coordinator. "With the Democrats and President Obama's refusal to take action by returning these illegal immigrants to their home countries, it is the same less fortunate American citizens they claim to support, that they will be hurting the most."

"The failure of this Administration to do their job should not constitute an emergency on our part," continued King. "It is incumbent upon Governor Kasich to put the fiscal well being and social concerns of Ohio citizens first."

We call on all Ohio residents, who are against the relocation of illegal immigrants crossing our border into Ohio, to sign the citizens petition to Governor Kasich at http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/say-no-to-federal-relocation-of-illegal-immigrants.

Tea Party Patriots stands for every American, and is home to millions who have come together to pursue the American Dream and to keep that Dream alive for their children and grandchildren.

From the Mansfield Tea Party, following up on Ohio Tea Party and conservative patriots' opposition to the border surge:

We are witnessing a well planned and systematic invasion of our country, and must be vocal and visible in our opposition.
This week, over 30 Ohio tea party and liberty groups signed a letter to Governor Kasich, insisting he remain strong against proposals to dump illegals in the state of Ohio click here to read the letter. Information regarding this letter was also sent to state and national media outlets.
Additionally, as State Co-coordinators for Tea Party Patriots in Ohio, Ralph King and I issued a press release stating our support of the above mentioned letter (click here to read our statement).  This press release was also sent to state and national media outlets.
In working with other Tea Party Patriot State Coordinators, it is our intent that these letters and press releases will be used across the country in clearly stating American citizens' opposition to the influx and dumping of illegal aliens.

What You Can Do
Sign the Petition to Governor Kasich
Ohio residents are encouraged to join us and sign our petition to Governor Kasich telling him to stand strong and resist federal relocation of illegal aliens to Ohio here.
Following is some of the language used in the petition:
"This petition concerns the illegal immigration crisis happening on our southern border, in which a massive influx of immigrants is seeking unauthorized entry to the United States. In addition to our outrage over the deliberate role the federal government is taking in this effort that violates our immigration laws, there are serious concerns regarding the government's attempts to relocate illegal aliens in states across the U.S., including Ohio..."
Please feel free to forward this information to others who are in opposition of illegal immigration and amnesty for people who continue to break our laws.
