House Republicans Have Hurt their Chance to Defund Obamacare

From former Congressman Ernest Istook via Washington Times --

WASHINGTON, October 2, 2013 — Republicans in the U.S. House of Representatives may have painted themselves into a corner. They evidently will settle for symbolism to end the ongoing government slowdown. That would leave virtually all of Obamacare intact and more difficult than ever to defund or repeal.

The most-recent House vote lowered the GOP’s demand significantly. The original vote (Plan A) coupled funding for the rest of government with a defunding of Obamacare. The second vote late Sunday night (Plan B) offered to fund all of government in exchange for two things: a) a one-year delay in the individual mandate, plus b) enforcement of the requirement that Congress get its own insurance through Obamacare.

By lowering their goals voluntarily, the GOP has reduced the chance that they will accomplish anything substantive rather than symbolic regarding Obamacare.

Rather than accepting Plan B, the White House is standing back while the media trashes and blames Republicans for what is called a shutdown. (Huge parts of “essential” government remain on-the-job, so” slowdown” is a term that fits much better.) When Obama figures he’s gathered enough election year ammunition, he could pivot. Posturing as magnanimous, Obama would need only minor negotiations to close a deal along the lines of Plan B.

The House essentially has backed down to a mostly-symbolic demand. Under Plan B Obamacare continues to get all its money. Obamacare’s exchanges would still provide coverage, but purchases would be voluntary the first year rather than mandatory. The lighter load of customers would give breathing room for the system that was overwhelmed by the torrent of inquiries on its first day.

Some political gurus will claim that delaying the individual mandate makes it easier to go after the rest of Obamacare. To the contrary, it makes it harder to attack the rest of the law. Plus there already are reports that a dozen or so House Republicans are ready to back down now and support a “clean” funding bill that leaves Obamacare totally alone.

The House’s Plan B permits the vast majority of Obamacare to march ahead unimpeded. After one year the individual and employer mandates would both be back and would be as deadly as ever to companies, workers and our economy. Under Plan B, the problems with the mandates would disappear from public attention—driven undercover for a year rather than being publicized as they are now.

Any time that one segment of major legislation is revised, it protects the surviving portions by reducing the demand for change. Carving out the individual mandate and letting it stay in place (even though delayed a year) lessens the pressure to deal with the rest of Obamacare.

Insurance companies would object to a one-year delay because they want the guaranteed source of new Obamacare customers. Obama’s bureaucrats might create an offset or they might tell insurers to buzz off, just as they’ve so far stiffed some labor union allies.

Thanks to the one-year moratorium, Obamacare would essentially be vaccinated and protected from further attack. That means, for example, that these other provisions would no longer have significant opposion:
  • Historical forms of private insurance would be outlawed.
  • The provisions of Obamacare would become locked-in for all insurance policies and would continue to be a major cause of skyrocketing premiums (due to guaranteed issue, no pre-existing conditions, etc.).
  • The tax would remain on medical devices.
  • Employers would still be intimidated by the delayed-but-still-coming mandate on them. They would continue the trend of shifting full-time workers into part-time jobs and holding part-timers below 30 hours a week.

It would become harder than ever to repeal or defund Obamacare if the President and Senate Democrats accepted the House’s Plan B. The President would proclaim he’d compromised enough. The wind would go out of the sails for many champions of the repeal-or-defund effort.

How about the Plan B provision that Congress must get its coverage through Obamacare? Expect to see backdoor maneuvers such as raising staff salaries to compensate for higher costs. For Representatives and Senators, there’s also another avenue. They would increase their use of the boutique health care they receive through the Office of the Attending Physician in the Capitol Building, plus special care through Bethesda Naval Hospital (now combined with Walter Reed).

The Senate might insist that the House go it alone in living under Obamacare. That’s because only one-third of the Senators must face the voters in 2014 (or any election year). Thanks to six-year terms, they enjoy insulation from the public’s wishes.

Once Obama’s team feel the press has pounded Republicans enough, they could posture as heroes rescuing the nation from heartless Republicans. They would use that theme constantly in the 2014 campaigns. By claiming already to have compromised on Obamacare, the White House could insist the law is now off the table, including a refusal to address it during negotiations over an increase in the debt ceiling.

By dropping back to a weaker position, without any concesssions from Obama, House Republicans have undercut their own position. Maybe Obama’s stubborn narcissism will prevent him from taking the deal. Or maybe he’s just waiting for the right moment.

In any event, the Plan B put forth from the House GOP won’t help defund or repeal Obamacare. In all likelihood, they’ve made those goals even more difficult to reach.

National & Ohio Federation of RINO Women Carry Water for GOP on Illegal Immigration

Like good little RINOettes, the Ohio Federation of Republican Women joined in with the National Federation of Republican Women in publicly jumping on the bandwagon supporting the GOP establishment elite's group hug of Illegal Immigrants.

In a recent letter to the Plain Dealer titled "Settle the legal status of kids without a country", Ohio Federation of Republican Women President Jean Turner writes....
On March 9, 2013, the National Federation of Republican Women passed a Resolution regarding immigration that included this statement:

"RESOLVED, The National Federation of Republican Women urges the federal government to expeditiously establish criteria for young people in this country illegally through no fault of their own to earn legal resident status or citizenship when they demonstrate English fluency and knowledge of American civics, comply with all health requirements, have no criminal record, graduate from an accredited high school, and pursue a college degree, trade certification or enter into military service."

It is in this spirit that the Ohio Federation of Republican Women applauds Speaker John Boehner for having the courage to move the conversation forward with his recent comments that this issue is, "about basic fairness."

These are not children of foreign countries. These are not children of the U.S.A. They are children without any country. Our group urges the Ohio Congressional Delegation to join together to bring about a resolution to the question of legal status in these cases.

Jean Turner,
Gibsonburg

Turner is the president of the Ohio Federation of Republican Women. Three other statewide officers also signed this letter.

First,  while surely getting a couple RINO points for parroting Majority Leader Eric Cantor, it is incorrect for Mrs. Turner to classify children brought here illegally by their parents as "kids without a country."  The country in which these children were born would be their country of origin.

Many of the illegal immigrant children (aka Dreamers) in which Mrs. Turner is referring to are covered under the Deferred Action for Children Arrivals (DACA), which supplies no special path to citizenship, but does give these children a legal presence and many benefits.

In fairness, while many share the same concerns that something needs to be done about illegal immigration in this country, it is clear Mrs. Turner, in playing the tune of "basic fairness' on the bleeding heart fiddle, is looking for a special path to citizenship for these Memorandum created special class of illegal immigrants.

To date, Deferred Action has been granted to over 455,000 "Undocumented Dreamers" creating a USCIS processing backlog at the expense of legal citizens and members of our military.

And the slippery slope of a "special path to citizenship" for Dreamer's is already mutating into a "special path to citizenship" for the "Dream Parents" under the proposed DACA-Plus program and a current ICE Enforcement Directive.

Estimated costs to U.S. citizens for Illegal Immigration nationwide are approximately $106 billion. In Ohio with a yearly cost of $878 Million, that works out to about $200 per year per resident

At $509 million annually, the cost of educating the estimated 25, 375 U.S. born children of illegal immigrants living in Ohio at the K-12 level is devastating to an already over burdened school funding issue in Ohio. Illegal immigrant children in Ohio covered under DACA are also able to get a drivers license which will enable possible voting rights and they get in-state college tuition over American children

So, I would ask the National & Ohio Federation of Republican Women -- what about the "basic fairness" to every day American citizens, through no fault of our own, that are being forced to bear the fiscal burden of supporting these illegal immigrants?

Maybe instead of trying to score RINO points with the GOP establishment on illegal immigration by applauding Speaker Boehner for his so called "courage" -- Mrs. Turner should be asking Speaker Boehner where is his courage to speak up for the "basic fairness" for the U.S. citizens he was elected to represent!

Federal Election Commission Questions Speaker Boehner over Illegal Campaign Donations

Trouble in RINO paradise?

From the Cleveland.com --
The Federal Election Commission is examining whether dozens of political action committees and individuals contributed more than the legally allowed amount to House Speaker John Boehner during last year's election cycle.

Letters the Federal Election Committee sent Monday to Friends of John Boehner indicated that donors including coal, energy, and gambling interests, exceeded contribution limits to Boehner's committee by more than $150,000.

Among the groups that were allegedly overgenerous to Boehner were Coalpac and Minepac, which represent the mining industry, as well as political committees representing the Exelon, Constellation and Luminant power companies, and the Ceasars and Penn National gambling enterprises.

"Although the commission may take further legal action concerning the acceptance of excessive contributions, your prompt action to refund the excessive amount will be taken into consideration," the letters say.

Friends of John Boehner is one of several political organizations that Boehner uses to raise money for GOP candidates and solidify his party's control over the U.S. House of Representatives. Records compiled by the Center for Responsive Politics list him as the top fundraiser in the House of Representatives during the 2012 election cycle, raising more than $22 million.

Boehner spokesman Cory Fritz said large committees like Boehner's that process quarterly contributions from "thousands of grassroots supporters each quarter routinely handle these questions."

"We take compliance with FEC rules and regulations seriously, and will take all corrective action necessary," said Fritz.

Sign the Petition to Stop Funding for Obamacare Before House Votes

We need as many people as we can to sign this petition as possible in the next 12 - 24 hours before the House makes a vote.
This is critically important because leadership is putting the pressure on to get the House to take another meaningless vote.
The Ruling Elite is up to it again! They want you to think they have voted for defunding Obamacare, while actually not doing anything meaningful – once again.
Eric Cantor’s 5 Step plan is described at Breitbart.com in more detail. The gist of it is this:
1. The House will pass a Continuing Resolution that funds Obamacare and, simultaneously, will pass a concurrent resolution that defunds Obamacare. The two bills will be ‘enrolled’ as if they were one bill — so one vote passes two bills at the same time. The Clerk of the House will send to the Senate the concurrent resolution that defunds Obamacare but includes funding for the rest of the government, and will hold the ‘clean’ continuing resolution at the desk until the Senate votes on the concurrent resolution that defunds Obamacare.
2. After passage in the House, the Senate has to have an up/down vote on the concurrent resolution with the defund language before the continuing resolution can move to the Senate. This is yet another show vote. Because there is no price to be paid for voting it down and continuing to fund Obamacare, it has no binding leverage tied to it. It is truly a vote just for appearances.
3. After the Senate has the show vote on defund, the Senate may then pass the “clean” continuing resolution, which will then go to the President for his signature without having to go back to the House of Representatives. This continuing resolution would fund the government and would have no binding impact on defunding Obamacare in any way.
The Ruling Elite thinks another game, trick and lie to the people is acceptable. It is not.
The ruling elite in the House thinks that what we want is recorded votes in the House and Senate.  They are wrong.   What we want is for them to stop funding Obamacare.
Sign below to tell Congress: Obamcare is not ready for big business, big labor, or big government and Obamacare is not ready for the American people. Congress must pass a Continuing Resolution to fund the federal government for all of fiscal year 2014 that binds the defund Obamacare effort – you must stop spending of any kind on Obamacare in 2014.
We have heard enough meaningless, empty promises from the Congress and it is time for action. No more games. No more tricks. No more lies. Exempt America and Defund Obamcare Now.

Action Alert: Speaker Boehner & House Need to "Go Big" or "Go Home" on Defunding Obamacare

Patriots, the fight to defund Obamacare is here and now!

In the U.S. Senate, Senator Mike Lee, Rand Paul and Ted Cruz are doing their job and have been leading the charge in the effort to defund Obamacare in any Continuing Resolution talks with the 'Don't Fund It' campaign.  To sign the 'Don't Fund It' petition and for contact information on which GOP Senators REFUSE to support this initiative, click here.

To date, Senator Rob Portman has refused to support the Don't Fund It Campaign (Click here for more).

In the GOP led House, under Speaker John Boehner's leadership, one would think, that after every single GOP member campaigned against Obamacare to get elected or reelected and to raise campaign donations, they would be overwhelmingly in support of defunding Obamacare.

Sadly this is not the case!

In response to the Defunding of Obamacare through any Continuing Resolution effort of Rep. Mark Meadows that is being supported by the conservative contingent in the House, Speaker Boehner & Rep. Eric Cantor are trying to undermine this effort....
Majority Leader Eric Cantor is trying to thread the needle with a proposal for the continuing-resolution bill that would force the House and the Senate to vote on defunding Obamacare but not make that a requirement for funding the government going forward.

But the plan is already coming under fire by House conservatives who object that it will not use the threat of a government shutdown as leverage to force Democrats to buckle and stop funding the health-care law.

Under the Cantor plan, the House would vote on two measures, the CR and a resolution that amends the CR to defund Obamacare. Both measures would be brought under a rule that allows the Senate to send just the clean CR to the president, but only after they first vote on whether to defund Obamacare. If the Senate voted against defunding Obamacare, they could then pass the clean CR.
Patriots -- it is time for the games in D.C. to stop! It is time for Speaker Boehner and the GOP Congressman to do their job!

It is time for Speaker Boehner & the GOP to
Go Big or Go Home!

Liberty groups across the country are hammering away on the GOP Congressmen in their respective states to do the job they were elected to do -- stop Obamacare!  Here in Ohio, we must continue to do our part!

In the 2010 election we elected 5 new GOP Congressmen from Ohio -- to date they have failed to do their job and have refused to sign on with Rep. Meadows efforts to defund Obamacare in any Continuing Resolution talks.

To date, only 3 of the 12 GOP Congressman from Ohio that campaigned against Obamacare are supporting the "real" effort to defund Obamacare in any Continuing Resolution talks.

Passion to Action

Rep. Chabot, Rep. Wenstrup & Rep. Jordan are the only GOP Congressmen from Ohio that signed Rep. Meadows letter to defund Obamacare in any Continuing Resolution talks.

Please take the following actions

  • Contact Rep Chabot, Wenstrup & Jordan for standing strong against Obamacare.
  • Contact the remaining GOP Congressman from Ohio and tell them to do the job they were elected to do. Tell them we want them to support Rep. Meadows effort to defund Obamacare and ask when they will be signing the letter.
  • Tell them we DO NOT support the duplicitous tactics of Majority Leader Cantor & Speaker  Boehner to undermine the effort to defund Obamacare in Continuing Resolution talks.

Pro-Immigration Advocates Rally at Speaker Boehner's West Chester Office

Pushing for a red carpet fix to the immigrants here illegally, the pro-amnesty group, Alliance for Citizenship, rallied outside Speaker Boehner's office yesterday....

From Ohio.com --
Dozens of immigration change advocates have delivered petitions to a southwest Ohio district office of U.S. House Speaker John Boehner.

The umbrella group Alliance for Citizenship says it collected hundreds of thousands of petitions urging Boehner to bring up immigration reform for a vote. Supporters of providing a path to citizenship for immigrants in the United States illegally have been trying pressure House Republicans on the issue.

House GOP members have expressed opposition to a Senate immigration overhaul bill that includes eventual access to citizenship for 11 million immigrants already in the country illegally.

Advocates rallied Wednesday outside the office and dropped off stacks of petitions inside. A Boehner spokeswoman noted his recent statement saying House Republicans are “working on a common-sense, step-by-step approach” to fixing the immigration system.
Now is your chance to stand up and speak out against the pro-amnesty efforts!

Fight back against this push for amnesty that will take American jobs and will decrease wages with an influx of low-paid workers! It is time to fight to put America and American citizens first!!!

Join the Rally For America -- this coming Saturday September 7th at Boehner's office in West Chester.  Click here for more info.

You cannot stop illegal immigration by sitting on your couch and posting on Facebook!

Constitution Requires Obama to Accept Congress' Decision on Syria

WASHINGTON, September 4, 2013 – By asking Congress to approve military action in Syria, President Obama is doing the right thing. But for the wrong reason, in the wrong way and based on a wrong understanding of our Constitution.

Obama mocks Congress and the nation by saying he will strike Syria even if Congress does not approve.

The President won’t admit it, but his transparent motive for seeking the vote is naked politics. Obama wants others to take the heat for his decision and he wants them to share the blame if anything goes wrong. In his usual way, even if things go as he plans, he wants to shift blame to others for the consequences and the expense. Guesstimates range from $100-million to a few billion dollars as the minimum cost.

But the entire debate rests on a false understanding about who should make the decision on striking Syria and how the decision should be made.

From the White House and even on Capitol Hill, the debate ignores the plain language of how our Constitution allocates military authority between the executive and legislative branches. Usually the only two clauses mentioned are those making the President the commander-in-chief and giving Congress the power to declare war.

But in Article 1, Section 8, immediately before granting Congress that power to declare war, the Constitution also grants Congress the power “to define and punish … offenses against the law of nations.” This all-important provision routinely is ignored by Congress, by Presidents and by our media.

Not since World War II has a formal declaration of war been approved by Congress. Yet we’ve fought wars in Korea, Vietnam, Afghanistan and the Middle East. Because formal declarations of war have become archaic — rightly or wrongly— we need to discuss and follow the Constitution’s provision that says Congress, not Presidents, should decide what offenses justify military force without formally declaring war (and when the President is not defending us from actual or imminent attacks).

There is no grant of power to the President to decide what international offenses justify punishment by the United States.

The President’s entire defense role is confined to Article 2, Section 2:
The President shall be Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy of the United States, and of the Militia of the several States, when called into the actual Service of the United States.
But Article I, Section 8, enumerates six powers of Congress pertaining to national defense. These include raising and supporting armies and a navy, making the rules that govern the armed forces, and organizing, arming, and disciplining state-level militia as well as the army and navy.

And Congress is granted the authority to “define and punish Piracies and Felonies committed on the high Seas, and Offences against the Law of Nations.”

What are “offences against the law of nations?”

The term is vague, which is why our Founding Fathers also granted Congress the exclusive power to define the term. This can include passing laws and also crafting a response to a specific international situation such as Syria. America’s sovereignty is not surrendered to some overseas tribunal to dictate to us in the name of international law.

Nor does our Constitution let the President decide. Congress is to make this decision; Congress is given the power to define international offenses as well as to punish them.

Making tough decisions like this runs counter to the political skittishness of many Senators and Congressmen. It also would reverse the dangerous trends of Congress’ abdicating its authority and of giving too much power to the executive branch and bureaucrats. The Constitution’s standard is tough but is healthy for America.

If Syrian President Assad used chemical weapons against the United States or made some other direct attack upon us, President Obama properly could launch an immediate military response as commander-in-chief.

But if Assad’s offense is that he offended international requirements—the “law of nations”—then our Constitution says Congress must decide the punishment, which might include authorizing military actions. President Obama’s constitutional duty is to abide by what Congress might decide.

By turning to Congress, President Obama did the right thing. But unless he accepts Congress’ decision on Syria, Obama has done the right thing for the wrong reason and in the wrong way.

Rubio Heckled at "Defending American Dream Summit" & Business Leaders Counting on GOP for Immigration Reform

Thinking he was in a safe environment in speaking at the Americans For Prosperity "Defending the American Dream Summit," when taking the stage, Senator Marco Rubio was heckled and booed for his support of weak immigration reform.....
A small but loud group booed and heckled Florida Sen. Marco Rubio while he tried to give a speech at a conservative conference here Friday, a sign that his support for a bipartisan immigration bill has hurt him within some elements of the Republican Party.

“No Amnesty!” several people shouted when Rubio walked to the lectern at the Defending the American Dream Summit, an annual gathering of Republicans and conservatives organized by the advocacy group Americans for Prosperity. (More.....)
Besides Rubio rightly being booed for undermining the very voters that elected him, one has to wonder why this Koch Brothers event was named "Defending the American Dream Summit."

With the Koch Brothers hosting pro-amnesty forums and having the Koch Brothers funded Cato Institute hypocritically claiming that an influx of illegal immigrants will help the economywhen in fact an influx of illegal immigrants will drive down current wages and will actually take jobs from Americans workers -- the AFP "Defending the American Dream Summit" could / should have been called "Undermining the American Dream Summit."

So while Rubio is being heckled and booed over his signature immigration reform bill (S. 744), business leaders are now counting on GOP Leadership in the House to deliver low wage workers that will take American jobs.... (emphasis added)
"We believe strongly that fixing the immigration system makes for a healthier American economy and must attract individuals from around the world," said Matt Sonnesyn, director of research for the Business Roundtable.

"We are making sure we have the labor force needed, especially in the service industries, so as the economy gets cooking, we're better able to maintain productivity."

He also is encouraged to see House lawmakers, especially those in leadership, consistently talking about need for a careful process.

"They are talking about how to move it forward, not about how to kill it," he said.
With a current unemployment rate of 7.4% and unemployment rates increasing in 28 states we do not need to import workers from around the world, there are plenty of unemployed and under employed Americans that can fill the labor force needed!

Make no mistake on the push for immigration reform -- the Democrats want it for votes and the establishment elite in the GOP are trying to deliver for their corporate donors that wish to drive down wages even further by undercutting American workers in exchange for illegal immigrants willing to take low paying jobs.

Contact Speaker Boehner, (202)225-0600, and tell him we do NOT support Rubio's Senate Comprehensive Immigration Bill (S744) and we do not want it in conference committee with any weak immigration bills crafted by the House!

And make sure to join grassroots groups from across Ohio as the stand together against Illegal Immigration in Speaker Boehner's District on Saturday Sept. 7th at the "Rally For America".

It is time to put the United States and American Citizen's first!

Pull the Plug on Obamacare Rally (Ohio)

Rally to Pull the Plug on Obamacare

PRO-FAMILY MOVEMENT & TEA PARTY UNITE
TO “PULL THE PLUG” AT BOEHNER’S OFFICE
Defund Obamacare Rally in Troy, Ohio Next Tuesday!

August 20, 2013 – For Immediate Release

With unprecedented unity, the pro-family movement, Tea Party groups, and freedom-loving Ohioans are joining together outside Speaker John Boehner’s district office (12 South Plum Street in Troy, Ohio) to stand against the funding of Obamacare with a “Pull the Plug” Rally next Tuesday, August 27, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.

Among those speaking are former Ohio Secretary of State Ken BlackwellJenny Beth Martin, co-founder of Tea Party Patriots, Brent Bozell, founder of ForAmerica, Doc Thompson from The Blaze, Ted Stevenot of Ohio Liberty Council,  Janet Porter of Faith2Action and many more.

“Symbolic votes against Obamacare are great, but now it’s time to pull the plug on funding the monstrosity that threatens our lives and livelihoods.” said Ken Blackwell, “Join us next Tuesday to encourage the Speaker to pull the plug on Obamacare before it’s too late!”

“If the President can delay Obamacare for Big Business, Big Government and Big Labor, Speaker Boehner can do it for the American people, and we are calling on him to do it,” stated Jenny Beth Martin of Tea Party Patriots.

“Why would we give the keys to our healthcare to the same branch of government that continues to target Tea Party and Conservative groups, denying them the right to assemble?” asked Janet (Folger) Porter, president of Faith2Action, who is organizing the event. “We must pull the plug on Obamacare before he pulls the plug on us!”

“The citizens of Ohio have spoken loudly and clearly by passing the Healthcare Amendment: Keep Obamacare out of Ohio!” added Beth Cox of the Preble County Liberty Group. “Speaker Boehner: Please defund Obamacare and save lives.”

Boehner and Obama Sittin' in a tree K-I-S-S-I-N-G...

In spite of all the phony bravado  and tough talk of Speaker John Boehner lately, he once again, allows his true colors to show.

Showing he is truly part of the Establishment Elite class that is destroying our country and that he is unfit to be Speaker, in a recent interview, Boehner fawned over the trust he has for his golfing pal President Barack Obama.

From the Washington Examiner -- (Emphasis Added)

House Speaker John Boehner says he "absolutely" trusts President Barack Obama — not that they don't have their differences.

Boehner tells ABC's "This Week" that the two have a good relationship and that they're "open with each other ... honest with each other." But the Ohio lawmaker says they're trying to bridge some big differences.

One issue they agree on: The U.S. doesn't have an immediate crisis in terms of debt.
So there you go -- the man supposedly leading the charge to cut the out of control spending in D.C., Speaker John Boehner - feels our current debt of over $16.7 Trillion is not an immediate crisis!

You can thank you GOP Congress member for 2 yrs more of these Beltway Blood Brothers from different Mothers -- Barack & Boehner.

Grassroots Rally Team of OH: Candle Light Vigil on Illegal Immigration

From The Grassroots Rally Team of Ohio --

Please Join Us For A Candle Light Vigil

Speaker Boehner & House Leadership

Unemployed Americans

“CAN YOU SEE US NOW?”

When: Saturday April 21, 2012
Time: 5:00pm - 6:00pm
Location: Speaker Boehner's West Chester OH Office
Address: 7969 Cincinnati - Dayton Rd. West Chester, OH

Dear Concerned Citizens,

Please join us on April 21, 2012 at the West Chester, Ohio office of Speaker of the House John Boehner for a candle light vigil to “shine a light” on America’s illegal immigration issues and concerns.

Speaker Boehner and U.S. House Leadership have been silent in addressing American’s concerns about illegal immigration, E-Verify and the resulting economic impact on citizens across the nation.  The current unemployment rate is 8.3% nationally and there are 8 million illegal workers employed in U.S.

Why are there illegal aliens with jobs that are sorely needed and deserved by U.S. citizens?  Why are illegal aliens receiving taxpayer supported benefits while unemployed citizens are struggling?  Why are big business and agricultural special interest groups afforded the opportunity to voice their wants to the Speaker while concerned citizens are still waiting to be heard?

This is our opportunity to be seen and heard.  Your presence and participation is needed to send a message of patriotism and solidarity.  Each candle that is lit that evening will represent you, your family and friends and millions of concerned citizens across the United States of America.  Please take the time to join us and bring someone with you!  This peaceful demonstration of unity and concern will not go unnoticed and your presence is vital!

Visit the Grassroots Rally Team website for list of guest speakers and event updates:
