Dennis Kucinich wants MORE Government & MORE EPA Control over your Life-- do you?

In the face of a record setting $1.3 Trillion deficit, national debt of nearly $13 Trillion and the current Miracle-Gro type growth of our federal government, Congressman Dennis Kucinich (OH-10) recently stated he believes we need even MORE spending & MORE government in our life.

Let's take a look at a few samples of what MORE government means....

Controlling our water system --
This Colorado River Basin Geographic Focus Study is part of the ongoing effort outlined in the WaterSMART Secretarial Order signed in February 2010. It reflects a national commitment to understanding water availability in the country and managing that resource for current and future generations. The last comprehensive assessment of water availability for our nation was in 1978 and it is overdue for a new one.

The USGS WaterSMART initiative will produce a water census for the nation, a new and on-going appraisal for water availability that links both water quality and quantity, tracks changing flow, use, and storage of water, as well as developing models and predictive tools to guide its decisions . A relatively new area of science evaluates how much water needs to be left in the streams to support important ecological values. This initiative includes a significant research and assessment effort to help wildlife managers characterize the flow needs for aquatic species and their habitat. Knowing our nation’s water “assets” and rates of use on an ongoing basis is crucial to wise management.
With our Great Lakes under constant threat, we here in OH should share a special interest in this government take over of water. Click here to see the impact on you when the government takes over water supplies.

Setting a future precedent, the EPA, through the Chesapeake Clean Water and Ecosystem Restoration Act (S. 1816)  is emasculating State control of their land & waterways through the Clean Water Act....
“Bigger federal government and expanded federal authority is not in the best interest of our nation,” Stallman said. “By granting EPA the authority to issue what are called Total Maximum Daily Loads (TMDL) without allowing states the opportunity to address water issues, this bill would give EPA greater control over land-use decisions that should be made at the local level.”

According to a letter sent to the full Senate by Farm Bureau and the other groups, S. 1816 “is not a regional bill with only local consequences and only benign effects for the rest of the country.”

“S. 1816 does not authorize a program to improve water quality through collaboration, technical assistance, and/or funding,” the letter stated. “Instead, S. 1816 would set a major legislative precedent in federal environmental law, taking the authority and control granted to states and local governments under the Clean Water Act and instead vest it in the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) – a step never before taken in the 38-year history of the law.
You're thinking, "clean water is good, but do they really want to take control of ALL water?"  You decide...
The legislation, entitled “America’s Commitment to Clean Water Act”, seeks to expand the federal government’s control of U.S. water under the Clean Water Act by removing the existing requirement that regulated waterways be “navigable.”  Under the proposed legislation, all inland waters, on both public and private lands, would be controlled and regulated by the federal government.

On December 8, 2009, Congressional Western Caucus Chairman Rob Bishop (R-UT) along with fellow House and Senate Western Caucus members outlined their concerns in a letter to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) regarding the Senate “Clean Water Restoration Act” (S.787) and the anticipated introduction of similar legislation in the House.
Removing "non-navigable" would give the EPA control of all water from the pond in your front yard to the puddle in your back yard after it rains. If you think your sewer bills from the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District are high now -- wait until the EPA imposes more unattainable restrictions.

Controlling our Food & Agriculture --

Are you thinking that is for farms -- they can't control air in our homes...  Think Again!
“The Obama EPA’s unprecedented attempts to regulate dust on farms and ranches is just another example of how out-of-touch this administration is. Clear evidence acknowledges that the dust standard revision is unnecessary. Yet despite results from scientific studies, the EPA is continuing its attempts to control the day-to-day operations on ranches and farms.

“This unreasonable requirement will cause extreme hardship to farmers, livestock producers and other resource-based industries throughout rural America. People in the West and those in dry climates will be hit especially hard. It’s time the EPA rethink the consequences the farm dust regulation will have on the people who feed us.”

The goal of these projects is to educate Americans on how to reduce the environmental health risks of indoor contaminants through demonstrations, education projects, trainings and outreach efforts. EPA is placing particular emphasis on reaching households with children, low income families, and minorities because they are disproportionately impacted by poor indoor air quality.

The cooperative agreements will:
  • Promote positive indoor air quality management practices in schools nationwide, including holistic approaches to environmental issues.
  • Create awareness to reduce asthma triggers in the home and encourage the use of an asthma management plan.
  • Increase the number of homes tested for radon and built with radon-resistant features, and increase mitigation of radon in existing homes.
  • Increase effective indoor air quality practices in office buildings.
  • Motivate Americans to improve their home’s indoor air quality.
So it appears clear that the Obama Administration & the EPA are using regulation through the Clean Air & Clean Water Acts to circumvent a non-existent Cap & Trade legislation.

By voting against the Cap & Trade legislation in the House earlier this year because it did not go far enough, Congressman Dennis Kucinich, by having the EPA impose big government & economically unsound environmental edicts to push his progressive agenda that has continually failed N/E Ohio.
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is awarding 17 cooperative agreements to nonprofit organizations and a university totaling approximately $2.4 million to improve indoor air quality nationwide. Americans spend about 90 percent of their time indoors where levels of air pollution may be two to five times higher than outdoor levels. Indoor air pollutants, such as dust mites, can trigger asthma attacks and radon can cause lung cancer.

Kucinich shows "Phony" Love for the Troops!

Reaching for straws in his attempts to beat back the on coming surge from challenger Peter J. Corrigan for his 10th Congressional seat, Congressman Dennis Kucinich is now trying to act as if he cares about our U.S. Soldiers fighting in Afghanistan.

Routinely slamming the efforts of our troops, Dennis Kucinich made the following statement about Afghanistan President Karzai’s admission that he receives “bags of cash” from the Iranian government...
“The Karzai regime is so corrupt; it doesn’t even bother to try to hide it anymore. It can’t be voted out of office because the elections are rigged. While Americans struggle to provide for their families, we continue to spend billions of taxpayer dollars to prop up the arrogantly corrupt regime. How bad does it have to get?
“We know that the War in Afghanistan is longer than any other war America has ever fought. We know that the war has cost U.S. taxpayers more than a trillion dollars. We know that the death toll is rising. We know that more than 1300 Americans have died, thousands more wounded and countless Afghan civilians have died. We know that the civilian death toll is rising, and we know there are fewer than 100 Al Qaeda in Afghanistan,” said Kucinich.

“What more do we need to know? What part of "Get Out" does the Administration not understand? Our presence in Afghanistan is indefensible. Our soldiers should not have to put their lives on the line for this,” added Kucinich.
Several of Kucinich's statments ring hollow with hypocrisy.

First, while Kucinich takes issue with Karzai taking bags of cash, Kucinich himself had no problems accepting support and bags of cash in the form of donations from many of the people tied up in the Cuyahoga County corruption scandal.

Second, Kucinich just moved to defund the Afghanistan War and undercut the efforts of our troops.  Which is in line with his obvious disdain for our fighting forces as shown when he refused to visit our troops in 2007 and instead met with Syrian President Bashir Assad. Assad is routinely adored & praised by terrorist groups for allowing them to use his country as a Terrorist Safe Haven.  Then praising Syria for their efforts in the Middle East and with their help in the Iraq War, Kucinich stated our troops were illegally occupying Iraq.

Finally, Kucinich asks, "what part of 'Get Out' does the administration not understand."  Well we would ask, "What part of NO Health Care Reform Bill & NO Amnesty for Illegal Immigrants does Dennis Kucinich not understand?"

Standing in stark contrast with the voters in the 10th Congressional District, Kucinich flip-flopped his stance and voted FOR the Health Care Bill vote and is a strong supporter of Amnesty for Illegal Immigrants.

So it appears besides ridiculing him, the Adminstration ignores Dennis Kucinich the same way he ignores the wishes of the constituents he is supposed to represent.

Dennis Kucinich; The Anti-American Congressman Supports Code Pink

As Dennis Kucinich, facing a tough reelection bid against challenger Peter J. Corrigan, and his supporters skip around Cleveland telling everyone how wonderful he is -- you can bet the truth about Dennis is not being told.

Dennis Kucinich, the top Socialist in Ohio, who recently voted to defund our troops in Afghanistan is also a supporter of groups that work against the national security interests of the United States and lends aid to terrorists targeting our soldiers....

From American Thinker --
Last week, American Thinker published evidence that Senator Barbara Boxer (D-CA) and Congressmen Henry Waxman (D-CA), Raul Grijalva (D-AZ), and Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) made it possible in 2004 for Code Pink and other radical groups to deliver $600,000 in cash and supplies to enemy insurgents and their families in Fallujah. Two days later, Lt. Col. Robert "Buzz" Patterson posted the diplomatic letter Waxman wrote to assist Code Pink's mission.

Waxman's Republican opponent, Korean War veteran and former Marine Chuck Wilkerson, calls the letter a "smoking gun." He adds, " ... to actively assist getting aid to people who killed and wounded Americans on the battlefield is beyond forgiveness. If aid and comfort were given to the enemy, this borders on treason." Wilkerson is asking the U.S. Department of Justice to investigate whether Waxman is guilty of "aiding and abetting a declared enemy of the United States in a war authorized by the Congress." Attorney General Eric Holder has yet to comment.

Fellow leftists have attempted to defend Code Pink's actions by arguing that the supplies they gave to the insurgents were merely "humanitarian" in nature. The evidence supports a different conclusion. For example, the radical delegation made a point of meeting with associates of radical militia leader Moqtada al-Sadr and other advocates of killing U.S. troops. The supply mission also served as a propaganda coup for U.S. detractors, attracting sympathetic coverage from an array of hostile international media outlets including Al Jazeera and Iranian TV.

Who is Code Pink?
Code Pink presents itself to the public as a group of "Moms" who oppose violence and war. In reality, Code Pink's leaders are not peace activists at all, but dedicated Marxists who for decades have conducted a political war against the American system that targets the U.S. military.

Delivering supplies to America 's enemies is not a new occupation for Code Pink's leaders. Founder Medea Benjamin helped create the Institute for Food and Development Policy in the 1980s to support Nicaragua 's communist dictatorship in its war against the U.S.-backed Contras. Code Pink's Kirsten Moller and Sandra Brim also worked for IFDP. As the director of Medical Aid, Brim even flew an American neurosurgeon to San Salvador to operate on Revolutionary Party Commander Nidia Diaz, who had been wounded in combat. Two months earlier, Diaz's group had claimed responsibility for the murders of four U.S. Marines and nine civilians.

Medea Benjamin also founded Global Exchange, a forerunner to United for Peace and Justice, the vast "anti-war" coalition led by American Communist Party member Leslie Cagan, and helped organize the destructive 1999 riots against the World Trade Organization and capitalism in Seattle . Benjamin and Cagen teamed up again in 2004 to form Iraq Occupation Watch, which quickly opened a center in Baghdad to encourage American troops to defect and desert.

Code Pink's purpose is to reduce the effectiveness of the U.S. military by all possible means. These include denouncing U.S. troops as war criminals and murderers; manufacturing sympathy for enemy states, groups, and combatants; and coordinating activities with those same enemies. The group works to undermine military recruiting efforts and ROTC programs and lobbies to insert anti-military propaganda into U.S. school curricula. At a typical protest in 2007, Code Pink members and their supporters reportedly defaced a Marine recruiting center in Berkeley with signs slandering our Marines as "traitors" and "assassins."

Perhaps the most contemptible aspect of Code Pink's anti-military jihad has been its relentless harassment of wounded troops at Walter Reed Hospital in Washington , D.C. The group has held dozens of protests in front of the Army Medical Center , loudly chanting slogans and waving signs with thoughtful messages such as "Maimed for Lies." They also lined the sidewalk with a row of mock caskets. Most of Code Pink's hospital demonstrations have been held on Friday evenings, when the recovering soldiers are being visited by their parents, spouses, and children.

Why Fallujah?

Since "humanitarian aid" could have been delivered to any of a dozen war-torn cities in Iraq , why did the leaders of Code Pink and their fellow radicals choose Fallujah?

In late 2004, Fallujah was the last major stronghold of organized resistance to the U.S.-led coalition in Iraq . Long known as a hotbed of insurgent activity, this was the city whose residents had murdered four Blackwater USA security guards the previous March, burned and mutilated their bodies, and strung up two of the corpses on a bridge as a display.

The first attempt in 2004 to control the city had failed, and by November the stage was set for a major military engagement that would cost fifty-one Americans their lives and wound another 560. Such was the environment that inspired Code Pink to collect supplies and cash to support what Medea Benjamin openly described as "the other side."

The evidence clearly indicates that Code Pink's mission gave aid and comfort to America 's wartime enemies in Fallujah, a clear-cut act of sedition made possible by the group's allies in Congress -- Democrats Barbara Boxer, Henry Waxman, Raul Grijalva, and Dennis Kucinich.

Kucinich Wants to Cut Funding for our Troops in Afghanistan

The former boy Mayor of Cleveland who wanted to be President wants to cut funding for our troops in Afghanistan....
Congressman Dennis Kucinich (D-OH), who previously forced a vote in the House to stop the war in Afghanistan from spilling over the border into Pakistan, today renewed his calls for Congress to explicitly cut off funding in the region after the Associated Press (AP) reported that North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) helicopters attacked Pakistani troops at a border crossing. The Pakistani troops, who were in uniforms similar to the local civilian population, are among the same troops being trained by the United States. According to the AP, they were ordered to stop supply trucks attempting to cross the Torkham border post.

“NATO troops have attacked Pakistan, attacked an ally for the simple offense of refusing NATO forces to expand the war into their sovereign nation,” said Kucinich. “Last night, in the middle of the night, Congress passed a Continuing Resolution that included Pakistan counterinsurgency funds. Those funds are for our troops to operate in Pakistan, and to train Pakistan’s military and Pakistan’s Frontier Corps. We are killing the same troops we claim to be helping.

“We cannot afford to continue the status quo in Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iraq. Our counterinsurgency strategy places our troops and our national security in great peril. The truth is that we cannot afford these wars. We cannot afford an open-ended commitment to wars that have done nothing to further our security or moral standing in the world. The American people cannot afford to have Congress allocate vital resources under the façade of nation-building overseas, especially while people here at home have such urgent unmet economic needs. Congress must take its Congressional responsibility seriously. We have not declared war on Pakistan and we must cut off military funding immediately,” said Kucinich.
Knowing Kucinich has no problem selling out our troops in harms way, should we have been surprised when he flip-flopped and voted for the Heatlh Care bill selling out the people in District 10 for a bag of peanuts and a ride on Air Force One?

Kucinich is facing Peter J. Corrigan in his bid for reelection.

Congressman Hal Rogers (KY-05) Introduces Bill to Stop the EPA’s War on Coal

Standing up to the EPA's continued attacks on the coal industry through regulation & the purposeful bureaucratic delay of issuing permits, Congressman Hal Rogers (KY-05) has introduced HR 6113, The Electric Reliability Protection Act.....
Washington, DC, Sep 15 - Today, U.S. Congressman Hal Rogers (KY-05) spoke at the FACES of Coal rally on Capitol Hill and energized hundreds of coal miners who traveled from all over Appalachia to make sure their voices were heard. Rogers spoke out against the EPA’s war on coal and introduced legislation, H.R. 6113, the Electric Reliability Protection Act, which would stop the EPA and Administration’s attempt to regulate coal mining out of business.

“At a time when our nation faces 9.6% unemployment, bureaucrats in Washington are trying to put an entire sector of our economy out of business,” said Rogers. “From the devastating Cap and Trade bill, to the EPA’s absurd directives on carbon dioxide, to continued delays in the coal mining permitting process, the Administration is threatening 1 out of every 4 Appalachian coal mining jobs. Because of these political games, 2 billion tons of coal are going untapped – that is enough to power the nation for two years.

In effect, this bill would stop the Czar like tactics of EPA Director Lisa Jackson and would force the EPA to allow the public a chance to voice our opinion on the heavy-handed regulatory tactics being implemented to destroy not only the coal industry -- but small business which are being stealthily attacked under the guise of the Integrated Urban Air Toxics Strategy.

Helping to enable these guerrilla-like tactics by the EPA are Congressman Dennis Kucinich, Congresswoman Betty Sutton (OH -13) & Congressman John Boccieri (OH-16) -- all supporters of the House Cap & Trade bill. With Ohio bleeding jobs and a predicted $8 billion bust in our state budget (thanks to Governor Strickland) one would think these three Pelosi puppets would do everything in their power to do what is best for OH. But we see that is not the case and it appears they would rather see our state unemployment rate and your electric rates go higher than the national debt!

Please contact these N/E Ohio Congresscritters, urge them to sign on in support of the Electric Reliability Protection Act and if they don't.... remind them November is coming!

Financial Reform causes Decline in Free Checking

Thanks to Congresswoman Betty Sutton (OH-13) & Congressman Dennis Kucinich (OH -10) supporting the over-reaching and restrictive financial reform bill it looks as if Free Checking at your local bank may go the way of the free toasters banks used to give away.

From National Association of Federal Credit Unions --
Aug. 27, 2010 – A new study indicates that the number of U.S. banks and credit unions that offer free checking declined by 11 percent from one year ago, with the new Wall Street reform law cited as one reason.

Moebs Services, an economic research firm in Lake Bluff, Ill., reported Wednesday that 72.5 percent of the institutions it surveyed offer free checking accounts to consumers compared with 83.5 percent from last year. The company said that the data reflect the realities of the economic downturn, the shift away from free checking among Wall Street banks and concerns about new regulations under the Wall Street reform law.

Of the three types of financial institutions surveyed – Wall Street banks, community banks and credit unions, Moebs Services found that credit unions rank first among institutions that offer free checking: 73.4 percent of credit unions indicated that they offer it (down from 89.3 percent in 2009). That compares with just 63.6 percent of Wall Street banks (down from 92.6 percent in 2009) and 71.7 percent of community banks (down from 78.3 percent.)

In announcing the data, Mike Moebs, economist and CEO of Moebs Services, said that free checking offers have generally risen over the past 10 years, with just an occasional drop. “We saw a slight fall in 2002 and again right before the mortgage bubble burst in 2006,” Moebs noted. “Some depositories have stopped offering free checking as a way to reduce costs in light of overdraft and financial regulatory reforms. Others face low earnings and a shortage of capital, so lower expense and higher revenue are needed to rebuild their capital position, especially at Main Street
institutions.”

-----------------------------------------

Yes, this would be the same Dennis Kucinich that recently stated he is a profession liberal and President Obama hasn't gone far enough to the left with his progressive policies! Even with this declaration, Kucinich, in a tough race against challenger Peter J. Corrigan, has also stated he will not run (err -- "stumble") for President again.

It should also be noted, fearing backlash from the seniors & other voters in District 10 over his support for President Obama's Health Care Reform Bill, Kucinich has refused to host any Town Hall meetings during this recess.

The other socialist snakes rounding out the Cadre of Ohio Komrades is Marcia L. Fudge (OH-11) & Marcy Kaptur (OH-09). Reports are also stating that the darling of the OH Democrats, Mary Jo Kilroy (OH-15) is also a secret socialist. Kilroy is facing former State Senator Steve Stivers.

Kucinich get's a "Left-Handed" Slap by the White House

After a public slapping by the White House in which WH Press Secretary Robert Bob Gibbs stated --

"....the "professional left" would only be happy "when we have Canadian healthcare and we've eliminated the Pentagon." He added, "They wouldn't be satisfied if Dennis Kucinich was president."

-- Dennis Kucinich, the out of touch with his constituents & up for reelection Congressman, takes issue with Gibbs attacking the professional liberals in this country and claims that though they, the professional liberals, DO support President Obama's progressive agenda and shredding of the Constitution, they want him to move even more to the left....
Kucinich responded, "I think that Mr. GibbsText Color and the White House need to realize that liberals support the president, but the criticism is really a measure of hopes that have not been realized."

The main issue at hand is the nation's persistently high unemployment levels, Kucinich said. "Until the administration effectively addresses that, those of us who call ourselves liberals are going to continue to insist we should be talking about a full employment economy," he said.

Kucinich said that the government can still play a transformational role during a tough economic period, as it did under President Franklin Roosevelt -- if President Obama provides the leadership to make it happen.

Liberals' dissatisfaction with Mr. Obama stems from "the intention to make sure [their goals] get realized while we have a president we do want to support," Kucinich said.
Boston.Com

Pledging his support for President Obama, and still thankful for his souvenir bag of Presidential Peanuts on his Air Force One ride in exchange for his support of the health care bill, Kucinich will not challenge PBO for the party nomination in 2012.

As we can see, Dennis Kucinich is still out of touch with the people he is supposed to represent -- the voters in District 10 -- and is more concerned in representing his professional liberal friends in Hollywood.

In his reelection bid, Kucinich is facing Peter Corrigan (http://corriganforcongress.com/).

Corrigan faces an uphill funding battle and the question in this race is will District 10 voters allow their vote to be bought by the big money professional liberals in Hollywood that routinely fund Kucinich's campaign coffers?
