Kucinich get's a "Left-Handed" Slap by the White House

After a public slapping by the White House in which WH Press Secretary Robert Bob Gibbs stated --

"....the "professional left" would only be happy "when we have Canadian healthcare and we've eliminated the Pentagon." He added, "They wouldn't be satisfied if Dennis Kucinich was president."

-- Dennis Kucinich, the out of touch with his constituents & up for reelection Congressman, takes issue with Gibbs attacking the professional liberals in this country and claims that though they, the professional liberals, DO support President Obama's progressive agenda and shredding of the Constitution, they want him to move even more to the left....
Kucinich responded, "I think that Mr. GibbsText Color and the White House need to realize that liberals support the president, but the criticism is really a measure of hopes that have not been realized."

The main issue at hand is the nation's persistently high unemployment levels, Kucinich said. "Until the administration effectively addresses that, those of us who call ourselves liberals are going to continue to insist we should be talking about a full employment economy," he said.

Kucinich said that the government can still play a transformational role during a tough economic period, as it did under President Franklin Roosevelt -- if President Obama provides the leadership to make it happen.

Liberals' dissatisfaction with Mr. Obama stems from "the intention to make sure [their goals] get realized while we have a president we do want to support," Kucinich said.
Boston.Com

Pledging his support for President Obama, and still thankful for his souvenir bag of Presidential Peanuts on his Air Force One ride in exchange for his support of the health care bill, Kucinich will not challenge PBO for the party nomination in 2012.

As we can see, Dennis Kucinich is still out of touch with the people he is supposed to represent -- the voters in District 10 -- and is more concerned in representing his professional liberal friends in Hollywood.

In his reelection bid, Kucinich is facing Peter Corrigan (http://corriganforcongress.com/).

Corrigan faces an uphill funding battle and the question in this race is will District 10 voters allow their vote to be bought by the big money professional liberals in Hollywood that routinely fund Kucinich's campaign coffers?

Senate Unanimously Passes Bi-Partisan Border Security Bill

Senator Chuck Schumer, unanimously passes a $600 million border-security bill authorizing an additional 1,500 Border Agents to protect our border....

From New Patriot Journal via WSJ --
On Thursday, the chamber approved a $600 million border-security bill in 31 minutes, from opening gavel to final passage. While their colleagues were enjoying a summer recess, Sen. Chuck Schumer flew in from New York and Sen. Ben Cardin drove his Pontiac from Baltimore to represent the entire Senate in its cavernous chamber.

Mr. Schumer delivered the opening (and closing) speech, while Mr. Cardin sat in the presiding official's chair. Mr. Schumer told his fellow Democrat that he hoped the border bill, which provides 1,500 additional border agents, would "clear the path" for talks on revamping the nation's immigration rules.

"I urge my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to join in this important task," he added, looking around at 99 empty seats.

The New York Democrat proposed passing the bill by "unanimous consent," meaning it would become law as long as no one objected. Mr. Cardin asked the empty room if anyone did, and, not surprisingly, response came there none. Just like that, the bill was on its way to the president's desk. More....

I believe this may be the first piece of legislation the Administration has passed with no opposition. Congratulations -- on their first bi-partisan bill!

U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service helps Illegal Immigrants cross border in AZ

The U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service is providing what they call "humanitarian services" for immigrants & OTM's illegally trying to cross the U.S./Mexico border through the Buenos Aires NWR through the use of watering stations....

From U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service --

Humanitarian organizations will be allowed to continue to provide humane water stations on Buenos Aires National Wildlife Refuge in southern Arizona. After a review of the proposed activity by refuge staff it has been determined that placement of water for use by those in need in the desert will help save lives and is compatible with the purpose of the refuge, which is managed by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

In order to minimize environmental impacts, sites throughout the 118,000-acre refuge will be allowed for placement of stationary, 55-gallon water drums adjacent to roadsides and in already disturbed areas. Since 2001, three such sites have been
allowed on the refuge.

“Our decision to allow water stations on Buenos Aires was based on a thorough review of different approaches to provide water for humanitarian needs and minimize environmental impacts from each of those approaches,” said Benjamin Tuggle, Southwest Regional Director for the Service. “Placement of these water stations is yet another tool being used by the refuge to provide life-saving aid to those in need in a manner consistent with our conservation mission.”

The refuge’s location along the international border with Mexico within the Altar Valley of southern Arizona provides a unique opportunity to protect remnants of a fragile desert ecosystem and to provide refuge for some of the region’s most imperiled species of plants and wildlife. However, in the past eight years, 25 people are known to have died on refuge lands while trying to cross the desert. Read more...

It looks like plants, wildlife and people illegally entering our country are more important than protecting the imperiled residents of AZ!

Coburn & McCain release report on Wasteful Stimulus Projects

U.S. Senators Tom Coburn, M.D. (R-OK) and John McCain (R-AZ) today released a new oversight report: “Summertime Blues: 100 Stimulus Projects that Give Taxpayers the Blues.”

The report, a third in a series, highlights questionable stimulus projects that are wasteful, mismanaged, and overall unsuccessful in creating jobs. The projects featured in the report cannot be considered as an investment in long-term priorities to create and sustain economic growth that the Stimulus was designed to do.

Senator Sherrod Brown calls those who opposed Health Care "Racist"

President Obama's puppet from Ohio, Senator Sherrod Brown, feels all those who opposed the recently passed health care reform are racist. And then typical of the double speak dipweeds in D.C., "clarifies" his statements....
During a bipartisan education seminar for congressional interns last week, Ohio Democratic Sen. Sherrod Brown told a crowd of young people that those who opposed the Democrats’ health-care reform plan were on the wrong side of history, much like segregationists who opposed the Civil Rights movement.

While most speakers who participate in the summer lecture series discuss what it’s like working in Washington or use the time to motivate the internship class, some who were present during the Tuesday meeting said Brown took the opportunity to launch what they considered to be “a partisan attack.”

“He said that people who were opposed to health-care reform were similar to the bigots and racists that were against desegregation reform,” a Republican congressional intern who attended the lecture told The Daily Caller. The intern requested not to be named. “It was ridiculous,” he added.

A spokeswoman for Brown’s office confirmed that the senator discussed how Republicans use the filibuster, but clarified that he did not intend to compare opponents of the recent health-care law passed in May to supporters of segregation. (Daily Caller)

So Brown feels people who opposed the Constitution shredding health care reform that will in effect through cuts to Medicaid & Medicare wheel seniors into a corner and let them die are racist but remains silent about groups openly calling for the destruction of the United States and killing of U.S. citizens.

Would you expect anything less from a person such as Sherrod Brown who has long pushed an anti-American agenda?

Federal funds to fight illegal immigration being used to protect illegal immigrants

U.S. Senators Richard Shelby (R-Ala) and David Vitter (R-La.) sent the below letter to Attorney General Eric Holder requesting him to identify states receiving federal funds for fighting illegal immigration and passing these funds onto cities that provide a safe haven for illegal immigrants.

In short, federal funds to be used in fighting against illegal immigration are being given to cities, more commonly known as Sanctuary cities, that are protecting illegal immigrants and possibly terrorists.....

The Honorable Eric Holder
Attorney General
U.S. Department of Justice
950 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW
Washington DC 20530

Dear Mr. Attorney General,

While you have filed suit against the state of Arizona for fighting illegal immigration, it has been brought to our attention that valuable state and local law enforcement dollars used to fight illegal immigration are wastefully being distributed to cities that encourage and provide safe harbor for illegal aliens.

The Department of Justice (DOJ) administers the State Criminal Alien Assistance Program (SCAAP), which provides federal payments to states and localities that incurred correctional officer costs for incarcerating undocumented criminal aliens.

This program is essentially providing room and board for illegal aliens and potential terrorists in Sanctuary Cities. Localities who hypocritically request SCAAP funding are providing sanctuary and safe havens for criminal aliens. Sanctuary Cities bar law enforcement from doing their job of asking the people they come into contact with about their immigration status, thus mandating an evasion of their legal responsibilities to share immigration information with federal authorities. The results are safe havens for illegal aliens and potential terrorists where essentially the
rule of law does not apply in these cities.

The Department of Justice should not be providing law enforcement dollars to cities that provide safe haven to criminal aliens and potential terrorists, as these tax dollars could be used more wisely and efficiently in cities that are legitimately fighting the battle against illegal immigration.

We understand that DOJ does not support SCAAP, as it has not been officially requested by DOJ in the past seven budget requests. SCAAP was airdropped into DOJ’s Fiscal Year 2011 budget request for $330 million by the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), as seen in the official budget pass-back from OMB to DOJ. Since 2000, five states have disproportionately received $2.2 billion of the $2.8 billion (77 percent) in funding this program has received, with some of these states having Sanctuary Cities.

We request that DOJ and the Inspector General immediately identify cities that have sanctuary policies, show sincerity in the fight against illegal immigration, and immediately re-evaluate the process and formula through which SCAAP is administered. The reauthorization of SCAAP is currently pending before Congress so we would appreciate your expedited response so we may better assist you and the Department of Justice in addressing this matter.

Sincerely,

Richard Shelby & David Vitter
